ABOUT THIS FAQ:

==============================================================================

This FAQ details the locations of where you can find Mega Stones for the
Pokemon that have them in Pokemon X and Y! Some are version exclusive (and
will be noted as such).

There is also some minor additional information, such as what type a Pokemon
becomes or what ability they gain if there are changes!

The FAQ does not explain what a Mega Stone is or how it works in game-- as if
you're looking for them then you've no doubt been introduced to them!

This is simply to streamline things!

Requirements / Introduction / Format [INT]

==============================================================================

-Requirements/Intro

Through the course of the story, you will get some Mega Stones by default, and
others will be avaliable to buy optionally. However, most of the Mega Stones
are avaliable post Elite Four at certain locations during a certain time of
day, and require you to have your Mega Ring upgraded.

To get your Mega Ring upgrade:
-Beat the Elite Four
-Reach Kiloude City
(To do this, meet Sycamore at Lumiose Station, and take the train)
-Battle at the Battle Maison
(I heard some players only had to fight one battle. This is to make your
  rival appear)
-Beat your Rival at Kiloude City
(He/She will be standing in the northern part of Kiloude City)
(If they are not there, fight a few more battles at the Battle Maison)
-Talk to Professor Sycamore in front of the Sun Dial in Anistar City

The above will result in the Mega Ring!

Note that all sections marked "TIME" mean they require the "Upgraded Mega Ring"
that you receive from the above! They can only be found between 8 PM and 9 PM,
where they will be shining. All of them can be collected in less than an hour,
especially if you have a guide telling you exactly where to go!

Aside from the Mega Ring, you will need Pokemon that know the following to
get them in one go:
-Surf
-Waterfall
-Rock Smash
-Fly

These will streamline your journey. Bring plenty of Max Repels as you're racing
against time here!

This is a quick break down to how each section will look.

[S022]

Mewtwoite X/Y [X/Y] for Mewtwo [#150] (POST) Pokemon Village

Requirements:
-Defeat Elite Four / Become Champion
-A Pokemon with Surf

Guide:

This guide will assume you are starting from SNOWBELLE CITY, as it can be
confusing making your way through Route 20 to reach the Pokemon Village. If
you already know the way, or are already at Pokemon Village, just skip a little
below!

You will need a POkemon with SURF.

Exit southwest of Snowbelle City and into Route 20 (Winding Woods).

Now from here, there will be different exits into a sort of maze. Follow these
directions:
-South
-West
-Northwest
-Go west, past the trainer, but then go down instead of to the left, so out
 the southwest corner.
-South past the tree.
-Go all the way down, then follow the road west and out into Pokemon Village!

Now that you're at Pokemon Village, make your way all the way to the bottom
left, up a small slope so you can reach the body of water. Now use SURF and
go up the water, and take a right where the waterfall is, hopping onto the
land. Now walk to the end and there's a cave there, enter it.

You will need to catch Mewtwo who will be there. I recommend saving first. Use
Capture O-Powers if you have them, Dusk Balls or other effective ones, and
a high level Pokemon that can get Mewtwo's HP down and paralyze it. Go about
how you would capturing any Pokemon--once captured, you will get Mewtwolite
X or Y, depending on which version you have!

Stone Info: Mewtwoite X
-Changes Mewtwo's type to Psychic/Fighting
-Ability: Steadfast (Speed raises by one level every time the Pokemon flinches)

Stone Info: Mewtwoite Y
-The stone makes no change to Mewtwo's type
-Ability: Insomnia (Pokemon cannot be put to sleep)

Pokemon Info:
-You get Mewtwo for this Mega Stone, so you can't miss it!

[S023]

-Pokemon X Version
-Mega Ring Upgrade
-Between 8 and 9 PM

Guide:

This guide will assume you start from AQUACORDE TOWN!

Go north out of the town, across Route 2, heading north, up and into Santalune
Forest!

Now go straight up past the tree, you will see it sparkling in the grass in
the corner.

Stone Info:
-Changes Pinsir's type to Bug/Flying
-Ability: Aerilate (Normal-type moves become Flying-type moves)

Pokemon Info:
-Pinsir can be found in Route 12 in Pokemon X only. It can also be found
in Friend Safaris (for both versions).

Note: In Pokemon Y version, you will find Heracrossite here instead.

[S024]

Scizorite [X/Y] for Scizor [#212] (TIME) Frost Cavern

Requirements:
-Mega Ring Upgrade
-Between 8 and 9 PM
-Possibly SURF (Not required, but convenient)

Guide:

This guide will start from the entrance to the FROST CAVERN (north of
Dendemille Town) SURF is optional and will make things easier, but not
required.

Remember the room with the Abomasnow you had to save during the story? That
is where this is. If you know the way already, it is right behind it!

If you don't know the way however, see below!

1F:

From the entrance, go up and then east, sliding across the ice, then up
the first set of stairs, turning right and across this ice as well. Pass
the trainer and go up these stairs.

2F:

Go up until you see the ice. Hug the left wall. Slide straight up. Now use
the circle pad to go South-east (bottom right), so you will slide across the
ice diagonally to the patch of ground to the right. Now face west, and slide
across to where the Hiker is.

Stand to the top left of the Hiker, and face South-west (bottom left) with
the circle pad. This should have gotten you to the pathway that goes left.

When you reach a fork that has ice to the left and top, go to the top one.
Slide up, then slide left.

If you have surf, you can save some trouble and now just sail down the water,
until you can't go downward anymore. Now hop off, and slide around the ice
(shouldn't be hard) to get to the path going downward.

Follow it down the stairs!

1F:

Head to the right, then up past the Hiker!

2F:

Head straight up the next set of stairs.

3F:

Head straight up across the ice! Past the blackbelt. At the top is the room
with the Abomasnow, and behind it, the stone!

Stone Info:
-The stone does not change Scizor's type.
-Ability: Technician (Moves with base power of 60 or less raised 1.5 times)

Pokemon Info:
-Scizor evolves from Scyther, when Scyther is traded holding a Metal Coat.
-Scyther can be found on Route 21 on both games. A Metal Coat may be slightly
 harder to find.
-Be sure to have someone reliable you can trade with and trade back!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[S025]

Tyranitarite [X] for Tyranitar [#306] (TIME) Cyllage City - Cyllage City Gym

Requirements:
-Pokemon X Version
-Mega Ring Upgrade
-Between 8 and 9 PM

Guide:

Fly to Cyllage City, then go east and up the hill to reach the Gym.

Once inside, go and climb the wall to your right. Go up the stairs, and past
the single trainer there, and then up to where there are two climable walls.
Take the one on the right!

Follow the path to the end. There it is!

Stone Info:
-The stone makes no changes to Tyranitar's type.
-Ability: Sand Stream (Sandstorm occurs when Pokemon enters, lasts 5 turns)

Pokemon Info:
-Can be evolved from Pupitar at level 55, which evolves from Larvitar at level
30 in Pokemon Y only! You will have to trade it in, or find it on a Friend
 Safari.

Note: If you have Pokemon Y, this is where the Agrronite is instead.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[S026]

Venusaurite [X/Y] for Venusaur (STOR) Sycamore Lab / Stone Emporium - Lumiose
City

Note: The location for this is choice dependent.

Requirements:
-STORY: Pick Bulbasaur from Professor Sycamore's offer
-OPTI: If you didn't pick Bulbasaur, it is sold by a man at the Stone Emporium,
and you will need money to buy it.

Guide:
-STORYWISE: To get the Vensaurite in the story, simply pick Bulbasaur when you
first reach Lumiose City, you will get it with them.
-OPTIONAL: You will need to buy it from the Stone Emporium. The man charges
outrageous prices at first (1,000,000), but the price goes down the more your
Stylishness/Fashionablness goes up in Lumiose City. I recommend getting this
later in the game (when reduced to 100,000, or 10,000 even) when you are
famous enough! To gain fame/style, simply make use of everything there is to
make use of in Lumiose City!

Stone Info:
-The stone makes no change to Vensaur's type.
-Ability: Thick Fat (Fire/Ice moves do 50% damage to this Pokemon)

Pokemon Info:
-Evolves at from Ivysaur (from Bulbasaur) at level 32. You can get Bulbasaur
from Professor Sycamore in Lumiose City.
-If you chose a different starter, you can get the others off of trades or from
 the Friend Safari.
