This is going to be a guide on how to beat all of the Scenario battles in the game. I decided to write this guide for 2 reasons. 1. The total war series is my favorite strategy game of all time. 2.there aren't many other places to find help for these battles and I know from personal experience that the scenerio battles can be hard at times. _____________________________________________________________________________ / \ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------Tips and Advice [TA02]------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- \_____________________________________________________________________________/ I highly suggest you read this if you are new to the game. 1. Use all of your units to your advantage. It doesn't matter if you only have 100 men at the end of the battle, the only thing that matters is that you win the battle. 2. Never leave Cavalry in combat for to long. So charge the flanks of the enemy soldiers then if they don't mediately route pull your horses out and then charge them again. 3. Always keep your general out of danger. 4. Cannons are your top priority. Whenever your enemy has these units they will aim for your general generally 90% of the time. 5. Even though at times the odds seem bad the game will usually give you some sort of tactical advantage so try to figure this out or continue to read this guide and I will tell you. 6. You can pause the game and still order your troops. This will let you make better decisions because you won't be under pressure. 7. Do not chase routing units unless the battle is very close to being over because in a lot of these battles every single unit needs to be used to the best of its ability for you to win. 8. Always form square formation when you are being attacked by cavalry. Most of the time this will cause the enemy cavalry to disengage. 9. During sea battles, never board enemy ships. This will only lead to friendly casualties and a heavily damaged ship. _____________________________________________________________________________ / \ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------Walkthrough [WKT3]------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- \_____________________________________________________________________________/ Before I start the guide there are a few things you should know. 1. For the most part the computer is very predictable but the computer is not guaranteed to do what I say they will do so be prepared to think on your own. 2. Do not expect to win any of these battles on your first try so stay calm and persevere. 3. listen to the computers intro to the battles because they sometimes give you helpful information. 4. There is more then one way to beat any one of these battles so my way may not be the easiest way of doing it. 5. If you have a alternate strategy please don't hesitate to e-mail me at [email protected]. (Note: make sure to include rome total war in the description.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the basic format I will use for the rest of the guide. --------------------------Name of the battle----------------------------------- Battle info --------------------------------Units------------------------------------------ List of all the units in the battle. Name of unit x(soldiers per unit) (Number of units) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Strategies ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- _____________________________________________________________________________ / \ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------The Battle of Brandywine Creek-------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- \_____________________________________________________________________________/ Vdeo walkthrough: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlNJ1KErTIc ---------------------------------Units----------------------------------------- England General: William Howe General's Bodyguard x16 (1) Grenadiers x45 (1) Highland Infantry x80 (1) Guards x80 (2) Line Infantry x80 (2) Hessian Line Infantry x80 (3) Light Dragoons x45 (1) 6-lber Horse Artillery x12 (2) Regiment of Horse x30 (2) Light Infantry x45 (1) America General: Washington (This might not be completely accurate because some of the units are hidden) Line Infantry x80 (6) 24-lber Foot Artillery x24 (4) Light infantry x40 (1) General' Bodyguard x16 (1) Light Dragoons x20 (2) Minutemen x80 (2) Long Rifle Men x80 (2) ---------------------------------Strategies------------------------------------ At the beginning of the battle the camera will pan over a alternative crossing at the far left of the map. If you attempt to the cross at the main crossing the continental cannons will shred your infantry resulting in mass casualties. Rather then that, you need to take you entire army and march them over to the other river crossing. There is a unit of Long Rifle Men in the forest to the right of the crossing on the other side. If there is no stakes in the forest then you should sent your Cavalry over the river to dispatch of them. Move the rest of your army of the river and from them up in one line. At this point all of the soldiers that where guarding the rivers will move to the town at the end of the map. Further down from the river crossing another Long Rifle Man will come out of the forest. Send your cavalry to finsh them off as well. If they do set up stakes then your line infantry can take of them just the same, but with a few more loses. The Continental army will form a line in the middle of the town. Along with this 2 units of Minutemen will possibly come out of the forest to the right of the town. Unlimber your cannons a good distance away from the town and have them start baraging the enemy soldiers. Now just form the longest line you can in the small road and engage the enemy line. If you can, try to move your infantry at a angle aiming at the flanks of the enemy line. This will be a really easy battle that your men should be able to finish with very few casualties. After you route the enemy line and possibly kill George Washington then all you need to do is finish off the cannons around the edges of the river. At this point you should win the battle with no more then 500 Losses. _____________________________________________________________________________ / \ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------The Battle of Rossbach---------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- \_____________________________________________________________________________/ Vdeo walkthrough: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_wiuUZ9PME -------------------------------------Units------------------------------------- Prussia General: Frederick II of Prussia General's Bodyguard x24 (1) Line Infantry x80 (3) 12-lber Foot Artillery x 24 (2) Grenadiers x60 (1) 6-lber Horse Artillery x 24 (1) Curassiers x30 (1) Hussars x30 (1) Dragoons x50 (1) Austria General: Prince Joseph of Saxe-Hildburghausen General's Bodyguard x24 Line Infantry x80 (2) Guards x80 (1) Grenadiers x60 (1) 12-lber Foot Artillery x24 (1) 6-lber Horse Artillery x24 (1) Cuirassiers x50 (1) France General: Prince Charles de Rohan General's Bodyguard x24 (1) Line Infantry x80 (3) Grenadiers x60 (2) Hussars x30 (1) Dragoons x50 (1) Cuirassiers x 30 (3) ---------------------------------Strategies------------------------------------ This is another easy battle. You are heavily outnumbered in terms of infantry and cavalry, but you do have the superior positioning. The first thing you need to do is set all of your cannons to fire canister shot. This is vital to winning this battle and if you forget to do this you will not win the battle. You also need to swing you unit of dragoons to the far right flank and dismount them. Also move the unit of infantry that is behind your main line to the far left flank and make them perpendicular to the main line. Now wait for the enemy soldiers to come down the hill. The Infantry will come down the hill and then move to the right most of the time. Along with this a large group of cavalry will come down the left side of the mountains and swoop into your left flank. Wait until the cavalry is almost at your flank then quickly form them up into square formation. Reinforce them with all of your cavalry except for the dragoons. At this point your cannons should have shredded the majority of the enemy of the enemy infantry allowing your infantry to finish them off. Once all of the units have come down the hill then you should try to surround them with your infantry. At this point the enemy cavalry should have routed and the majority of the enemy infantry should be dead. Have you remaining cavalry move in and cahrge the flanks of the remaing infantry. Finally, move your cavalry up the hill and kill off the soldiers on the cannons. _____________________________________________________________________________ / \ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------The Battle of Fontenoy---------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- \_____________________________________________________________________________/ Vdeo walkthrough: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2rl4jZGRsQ -----------------------------------Units--------------------------------------- France General: General' Bodyguard x24 (1) Garde du Corps x45 (1) Line Infantry x120 (4) Maison du Roi x120 (2) Hussars x45 (2) Cuirassiers x45 (1) 12-lber Foot Artillery x18 (3) Irish Brigade x120 (2) England General: The Duke of Cumberland Line Infantry x120 (2) 12-lber Foot Artillery England II General: The Duke of Cumberland General's Bodyguard x24 (1) Line Infantry x120 (4) Guards x120 (2) Austria General: Marshall Konigseek General's Bodyguard x24 (1) Line Infantry x150 (2) 12-lber Foot Artillery x18 (1) United Provinces General: Prince waldeck General's Bodyguard x24 (1) Line Infantry x120 (2) Horse Guards x45 (1) 12-lber Howitzer Foot Artillery x18 (1) ----------------------------------Strategies----------------------------------- This is the only battle that poses any real challenge. Your army will be divided into 3 parts. I will divide this battle into 3 phases in order to minimize confusion. Phases One This should all be done in the first 30 seconds of the battle. On the left and middle unlimber the cannons and turn on canister shot. Move all of the units at the town located to the right to the center of the map where the main army is. If they stay they will be destroyed. Also move the one unit in the town in the middle to the main line of infantry to reinforce them. Phase Two For the rest of the battle you can just leave your units on the left to fight on their own. While the right flank should be running to the center. All the following actions should be done to the soldiers in the center of the map. In the center you should move your cavalry to the flanks of your infantry line. Have the soldiers in the town start shooting at the British flanks. Once the British soldiers start loosing the battle they will lead a bayonet charge up the hill. This will be the time to charge the flanks with your cavalry. At this point the United Provinces's infantry will come into the center town. Send 2 units of infantry to fight them off. If the units on the left side have not been routed yet then send some infantry or cavalry to support them. Phase three With the units in the center and right routed now you can focus all of your attention on the Austrian Forces to the right. Take all of the infantry and form a line with the flank to the center city. Unlimber the remaining cannons and turn on canister shot. You should heavily outnumber the Austrians and they should route easily. Send the rest of your cavalry to route the remaining cannons. _____________________________________________________________________________ / \ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------The Battle Porto Novo----------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- \_____________________________________________________________________________/ Vdeo walkthrough: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpgxKeXhj50 ------------------------------------Units-------------------------------------- England Admiral: George Pocock Admiral's Flagship, 3rd Rate - Yarmouth x196 Third Rate Ship of the Line - Elizabeth x196 Thirs Rate Ship of the Line - Grafton x196 Fourth Rate ship of the Line - Tyger x152 France Admiral: Comte d'ache Third Rate Ship of the line - Zodiaque x199 Third Rate Ship of the line - Comte de Provence x199 Fourth Rate Ship of the line - Duc de Bourgogne x155 Fourth Rate Ship of the line - Protecteur x155 Fourth Rate Ship of the line - Actif x155 ----------------------------------Strategies----------------------------------- Try to surround the enemy ships and make sure not to board them. _____________________________________________________________________________ / \ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------The Battle of Lagos------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- \_____________________________________________________________________________/ Vdeo walkthrough: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpgxKeXhj50 --------------------------------------Units------------------------------------ England Admiral: Admiral's Flagship, 1st Rate - Namur x267 Second Rate Ship of the Line - Prince x227 Third Rate Ship of the Line - Warspite x199 Third Rate Ship of the Line - Culloden x199 Fourth Rate Ship of the Line - Intrepid x155 Fourth Rate Ship of the Line - Jersey x155 France Admiral: Admiral's Flagship, 3rd Rate - Ocean x199 Third Rate Ship of the Line - Temeraire x199 Third Rate Ship of the Line - Souverain x199 Third Rate Ship of the Line - Guerrier x199 France II Admiral: Admiral's Flagship, 3rd Rate - Acheron x199 Third rate Ship of the Line - Achille x199 Fourth Rate Ship of the Line - Pluton x155 ----------------------------------Strategies----------------------------------- Try to surround the enemy ships and make sure not to board them. _____________________________________________________________________________ / \ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------My other Guides [MOG1]-------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- \_____________________________________________________________________________/ God of war chains of Olympus- X-men Origins Wolverine- (PSP) Ratchet and clank size matters- Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror- Call of duty 4 Modern warfare- Rainbow Six 3 weapon guide- Rome Total War- Rome Total War Barbarian Invasion- Call of duty 2 modern Warfare- Medal Of Honor- Medievil 2 Total War- Call of Duty World at War- Battlefield Bad Company 2- Rome Total War (Unit List)- Call of duty Black ops Nazi Zombie weapon guide- _____________________________________________________________________________ / \ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------Credits [CS23]--------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- \_____________________________________________________________________________/ 1.
