Shine Sprite Strategy - Guide for Super Mario Sunshine

It's a dirty job...and Mario's got to do it:
I'm going provide some great tips to help you find all of the Shine Sprites in 
Bianco Hills and Ricco Harbor.

1.Bianco Hills Shine Sprites 
Bianco Hills has many structures for Mario to climb and explore. As with nearly 
every level, some features of the level will change as you clean up the town 
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1)Road to the Big Windmill 

First, make your way to the polluted portion of Bianco Hills near the lake. Follow 
the trail of brown sludge up a small hill toward the windmill. Spray water into the 
source of the plant heads, until a Piranha Plant springs up. Shoot water into its 
mouth three times to destroy it 

2)Down with Petey Piranha! 

Retrace your footsteps from Episode 1 until you find yourself at the bridge. Make 
your way to the top of the windmill and hover toward Petey Piranha. Spray water 
into Petey's open mouth until his belly button bulges and he faints. While he's 
down, jump on top of him, then Ground-Pound his full tummy. Repeat this process 
three times to defeat him 

3)The Hillside Cave Mystery 

Make your way to the cave shown in the opening animation, then complete the 
obstacle course to reach a Shine Sprite 

4)Red Coins of Windmill Village 

To earn the Shine Sprite, you'll have to explore Windmill Village and find all 
eight Red Coins. You'll find the trickiest Red Coin in the hidden passage near the 
three bells. To reach it, walk on top of the wall 

5)Petey Piranha Strikes Back 

Use the rocket nozzle to reach Petey Piranha's perilous perch. Make your way to the 
break in the fence, then use the R Button to pump up the water balloon creatures 
and to launch them at Petey. Spray Petey to knock him to the ground, then shoot 
water into his open mouth. Fill him up with water then Ground-Pound his tummy. 
Repeat this process three times to earn a Shine Sprite 

6)The Secret of the Dirty Lake 

This is one of Mario's tricky obstacle courses. Make your way to the cave shown in 
the opening animation, then complete the gauntlet to earn a Shine Sprite. To reach 
the first white block, you'll need to use a Spin Jump or a Wall Kick 

7)Shadow Mario on the Loose 

Chase the pollution-painting Mario look-alike through the left side of town. The 
villain won't cross over to the hilly part of town, so if you lose track of him, 
you won't have to search the entire area. The quickest way to douse him is to run 
and spray at the same time 

8)The Red Coins of the Lake 

Explore the high wires above the lake to find eight Red Coins. Watch out for the 
sparkling, red electrical enemies

Extra Shine Sprites 

You can revisit many of the secret obstacle courses, like the one in Episode 3, to 
pick up an additional Shine Sprite. You'll also earn a Shine Sprite the first time 
you collect 100 Coins in any one Episode within a world

2.Ricco Harbor Shine Sprites 

Ricco Harbor is a tangled maze of chain-link fences, steel girders and sky-high 
platforms. Mario will have to explore every nook and cranny to find all of the 
Shine Sprites

1)Gooper Blooper Breaks Out 

Work your way to the top of the ship's smokestack, then jump and hover to the 
catwalk above. Use the catwalk to reach the far corner of the waterfront. Press B 
to yank Gooper Blooper's exposed tentacle, then spray his face so its eyes turn 
red. Ground-Pound Gooper's arms, then run up to his face and pull the cork in its 
snout. Snap the cork twice to win the battle

2)Blooper Surfing Safari 

In Episode 2, a passage will open beneath the area where you battled Gooper 
Blooper. The only way to cross the mucky water is to ride one of the Blooper squids 
docked at the pier. Once you're inside the passage, finish the race in 45 seconds 
or less to earn a Shine Sprite 

3)The Caged Shine Sprite 

You'll find this Shine Sprite hidden within the giant, yellow structure in the 
middle of the harbor. To reach it, you'll have to jump, hover and rocket your way 
to the goal 

4)The Secret of Ricco Tower 

Use FLUDD's Rocket Nozzle to make your way to the tower door shown in the opening 
animation, then complete the obstacle course to reach a Shine Sprite 

5)Gooper Blooper Returns 

This time, Gooper Blooper is hangin' at the helipad. Swim your way to the floating 
logs by the polluted water, then use the Rocket Nozzle to reach Gooper Blooper. The 
giant squid is a little faster this time but his weak spots haven't changed 

6)Red Coins on the Water 

At the dock, Ground-Pound the red button. The clock will start ticking and eight 
Red Coins will appear above the water. Hop onto a Blooper to collect the coins 

7)Shadow Mario Revisited 

Try to blast Shadow Mario with a few good hits before he flees to the catwalks. Use 
the smokestack on the ship to reach the catwalks, then spray the vandal every step 
of the way 

8)Yoshi's Fruit Adventure 

You need Yoshi's help to reach the Shine Sprite in Episode 8. Before Yoshi will 
appear in the level, you must complete Episode 4 of Pinna Park. When you've 
finished the level, you'll be able to chase Shadow Mario in Delfino Plaza and 
befriend Yoshi. Afterwards, a Yoshi Egg will appear in Ricco Harbor's marketplace. 
You can use Yoshi's juice to break the seal which imprisons the Shine Sprite
