And here's how each one will look: --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------- ??? Stage --------- Time Limit: The time limit of the bonus stage. Pinball Amount: The amount of Pinballs you have for the stage. Objective: What you have to do to beat the bonus stage. Scoring: Tells you what you can hit and how many points you get for hitting it. --------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: To access the MEWTWO Stage, complete both bonus stages on the field (DIGLETT/GENGAR or MEOWTH/SEEL). The next bonus stage will be Mewtwo's. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Both Field Bonus Stages ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------ MEWTWO Stage ------------ Time Limit: 2:00 Pinball Amount: N/A Objective: Mewtwo sits in his pod with black shields rotating around him. Because of these shields, it will be harder to hit him. You can tell when Mewtwo is getting weak when you see him doing a different animation. This stage is very difficult, so don't expect to beat the first time. Scoring: Shield - 1,000,000 Mewtwo - 50,000,000 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Red Field Bonus Stages ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------- DIGLETT Stage ------------- Time Limit: N/A Pinball Amount: 1 Objective: Defeat all of the 31 Digletts. I find this stage easier if you just hit Left and A rapidly. Once they're taken care of, a Dugtrio will pop out. Hit them 3 times to complete the stage. Scoring: Diglett - 1,000,000 Dugtrio - 50,000,000 ------------ GENGAR Stage ------------ Time Limit: 1:30 Pinball Amount: N/A Objective: When you start, 3 Gastlys will appear. Hit each one a bunch of times, and 2 Haunters appear. Defeat them to make Gengar appear. Every step Gengar takes will shake the entire field, so this will make it a pain to hit him. Scoring: Head Stone - 1,000 Gastly - 1,000,000 Haunter - 5,000,000 Gengar - 50,000,000 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Blue Field Bonus Stages ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------ MEOWTH Stage ------------ Time Limit: 1:00 Pinball Amount: N/A Objective: Collect 20 Gold Coins. Hit Meowth 1 time, and he'll lose a Gold Coin. If you collect a couple of Gold Coins quickly, the amount of coins you get from them will increase for a short period of time. If you can get them quickly, you should be able to beat the stage with some time left over. Use this leftover time to gain more points. Scoring: Meowth - 10,000 Gold Coin - 1,000,000 ---------- SEEL Stage ---------- Time Limit: 1:30 Pinball Amount: N/A Objective: Get the counter at the top of the screen at 20. When Seel pops its head out of the water, hit it. Like the Gold Coins with Meowth, if you hit them quick enough, the hits will increase more on the counter. Scoring: Seel - 1,000,000 ======================================================================= 5) BONUS POINTS ======================================================================= These are the bonus points you can earn during the game. Look on pages 13-16 in the manual for a better chart of this information. Even though catching/evolving is almost the same on both Fields, there are a few differences (which is why I put 2 methods for catching/evolving). ---------------- Catching Pokemon ---------------- Red Field: 1. Get the pinball to go the whole way around the right loop. Each time it goes through to the loop, it will light a Catch 'em Arrow. 2. Once you get at least 2 Catch 'em Arrows lit, shoot the pinball into the Bellsprout. This will start the Catch 'em Mode. 3. There will be a silhouette of the Pokemon you can catch on the Pokemon Panel, and you have 2 minutes to catch it. Launch the ball at the Voltorbs. Each time you hit a Voltorb, it reveals 1/6 of the picture. 6 hits will reveal the whole thing. 4. Once you complete step #3, the Pokemon will appear. Hit the Pokemon 3 times to reveal the word "CATCH!" (in the Japanese version, it was the word "GET"). 5. Now hit the creature 1 more time to capture it. Blue Field: 1. Get the pinball to go the whole way around the right loop. Each time it goes through to the loop, it will light a Catch 'em Arrow. 2. Once you get at least 2 Catch 'em Arrows lit, shoot the pinball into the Cloyster. This will start the Catch 'em Mode. 3. There will be a silhouette of the Pokemon you can catch on the Pokemon Panel, and you have 2 minutes to catch it. Launch the ball at the Shellders. Each time you hit a Shellder, it reveals 1/6 of the picture. 6 hits will reveal the whole thing. 4. Once you complete step #3, the Pokemon will appear. Hit the Pokemon 3 times to reveal the word "CATCH!". 5. Now hit the creature 1 more time to capture it. ---------------- Evolving Pokemon ---------------- Red Field: 1. Get the pinball to go through the Left Outside Loop. Each time the ball goes the whole way around, it lights an Evolution Arrow. 2. Once you get 3 Evolution Arrows lit, Ditto will move out of the path to the Evolution Cave. Shoot the ball into the hole he blocked. 3. A menu will appear with the list of Pokemon you've caught so far in the game you're currently playing (so it doesn't bring up a list of all of your Pokemon in the Pokedex). If there's a star in front of a Pokemon's name, it means that it is at its highest evolution stage. 4. Once you pick one to evolve, a bunch of green arrows will appear on various locations on the field. Some contain the item you are looking for, but some do not contain anything. 5. If you hit a correct location, the item will appear in a random location on the field. Collect it, and a symbol will appear under the Pokemon Panel. 6. Collect the 3 items to open the Bonus Cave above the Pokemon Panel. Shoot the ball into that hole to evolve it. Blue Field: 1. Get the pinball to go through the Left Loop. Each time the ball goes the whole way around, it lights an Evolution Arrow. 2. Once you get 3 Evolution Arrows lit, shoot the ball into the Slowpoke to start the Evolution Mode. ======================================================================= 7) RED & BLUE FIELD MAP ======================================================================= This section tells you what locations have what Pokemon. ------------- Red Field Map ------------- Pallet Town: #1 Bulbasaur #4 Charmander #16 Pidgey #19 Rattata #32 Nidoran (Male) #60 Poliwag #72 Tentacool Viridian Forest: #10 Caterpie #13 Weedle #16 Pidgey #19 Rattata #25 Pikachu Pewter City: #16 Pidgey #21 Spearow #23 Ekans #39 Jigglypuff #129 Magikarp Cerulean City: #10 Caterpie #43 Oddish #54 Psyduck #56 Mankey #63 Abra #98 Krabby #118 Goldeen #124 Jynx Vermilion City - Seaside: #16 Pidgey #23 Ekans #43 Oddish #83 Farfetch'd #90 Shellder #98 Krabby Rock Mountain: #23 Ekans #50 Diglett #66 Machop #74 Geodude #79 Slowpoke #100 Voltorb #122 Mr. Mime Lavender Town: #23 Ekans #58 Growlithe #81 Magnemite #92 Gastly #104 Cubone #125 Electabuzz #145 Zapdos Cycling Road: #21 Spearow #84 Doduo #108 Lickitung #143 Snorlax Safari Zone: #32 Nidoran (Male) #46 Paras #111 Rhyhorn #113 Chansey #128 Tauros Seafoam Islands: #86 Seel #116 Horsea #120 Staryu #144 Articuno Cinnabar Island: #58 Growlithe #77 Ponyta #138 Omanyte #140 Kabuto Indigo Plateau: #66 Machop #95 Onix #132 Ditto #150 Mewtwo -------------- Blue Field Map -------------- Viridian City: #1 Bulbasaur #7 Squirtle #29 Nidoran (Female) #32 Nidoran (Male) #60 Poliwag #72 Tentacool Viridian Forest: #10 Caterpie #13 Weedle #16 Pidgey #19 Rattata #25 Pikachu Mt. Then you should get the above points. Infinite Dual PIKACHU Kickback - 01291DD5 ======================================================================= 10) TIPS / TRICKS ======================================================================= Erase All Game Data Hold Up, Right, Select, and Start at the same time before the screen that says something like "(c) '95 - '99 Nintendo." Then press A to erase all data or B to cancel it. Reset Game To reset the game, press Start, Select, A, and B at the same time. Catch Rare Pokemon Quicker Instead of lighting 2 Catch 'em Arrows, try to light all 3 up. The Pokemon that are rare will have a higher chance of appearing, so it does not mean you'll always find it. To get some rare Pokemon, it's required to have all 3 lit up. Easy Points Here are a few ways of getting some easy points: 1. "Evolve" Pokemon that cannot be evolved (Such as Golem, Farfetch'd, etc.). Even though they don't have a next evolution form, the game will let you do it. If you evolve it, you'll get a 10,000,000 point bonus called "Evolution Special". 2. Once you upgrade the pinball to its highest form (Master Ball), light up all of the Field Multiplier Lanes. This will get you a "Field Multiplier Special" bonus worth 10,000,000 points. I find this to be done easier on the Blue Field than the Red one. Pokemon Animations By: GameSages (http://sages.ign.com) To watch some animations in the Pokedex, select a Pokemon that's unevolved (Such as Squirtle, Ekans, Geodude, etc.). Then press and hold Start, and it will do the animation it would do in Catch 'em Mode. Pokedex Status When in the Pokedex menu, press and hold Select. In the upper-right corner of the screen some numbers appears. The first number is the amount of Pokemon you've caught and the second one is the amount of Pokemon you have seen. For example, if it said 40/45, that means you have 40 Pokemon and have seen 45. Get The Slots Easier When the little Pikachu does a PIKACHU Kickback, use the flipper controls to move the C, A, V, and E letters. If you do this correctly on every Kickback, you get the Slots a lot more often. Get #151 Mew (Confirmed) By: Banjo/^Charmander^ To catch the hidden Pokemon, complete all 3 Bonus Stages for the Field you're playing twice. Then, go to Indigo Plateau. Mew will appear here, but the chance of it appearing is slim. Tilting Tactics Probably the most useful strategy in the game is tilting. Here are 2 ways to use the tilt: 1. Use the left/right tilt to adjust the direction of the pinball. 2. Use the up tilt to help save your pinball from going in the hole (sometimes this works, but not all of the time). ======================================================================= 11) CREDITS ======================================================================= This section is here to recognize people, sites, etc. who have contributed to this FAQ.
