SIMFARM The super-duper strategy guide. For the PC Written by CHAZ5000 E-Mail address [email protected] Legal Information: This Walkthrough is to be found only at GameFAQs.com at the moment. It is Copyright 2001 Chaz5000 DO NOT DISTRIBUTE THIS WALKTHROUGH AT ANY OTHER SITE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION! "SimFarm" is copyright Maxis. All references to anything SimFarm are also copyright Maxis. Current Version: Version 0.01-01/26/01:My First Version of this FAQ/Walkthrough/Strategy Guide. Has Story, basic strategy guide, and codes. SECTION 1:STORY You are a rancher-guy with a groovy pad. You get 9 squares of land to start out with, and can buy more. You also need to be concerned with the growth of the town, because even though you can't build it(like in SimCity)if you pay enough in taxes, then the town will let you pick out what the next thing they build is. SECTION 2:BEGINNING THE GAME The first thing to remember in this case is to NOT use a pre-made region. Always design your own. After you've clicked "Design your Own", then set rainfall, temperature, and windspeed to half. Now select both "River" and "Lake" as water sources, and "Generate World" Make sure that at least three squares of your land have water through them. There's a sneaky trick to get more cash that these settings rely on. Now click "Play!" SECTION 3:STARTING A RANCH Assuming that you took my advice to get at least 3 squares of land with water in them, sell them NOW. You can then take the profits from those sales and buy 3 other squares of land that don't have water in them. Farming has high profits, but it's a lot of work compared to horse or cow ranching. Buy two barns, five haystacks, and five water barrels. Now buy three cows and three horses. Turn the speed up to ultra, and wait about six months. Make sure that the water barrels never run dry, and the food never runs out. At the end of the six months, sell one cow and one horse. Eventually, you'll get a baby horse and a baby cow. Raise these up until they're six months old, and sell them. Watch the food and water, and repeat the breeding process for a couple more cycles. Now the next time you get a calf or a foal, sell one of the parents. Not both, or you'll have to buy a new one. If your taxes were high enough this year, the town will ask you to select a new building for the town. I reccomend(In this order)Recreational, residential, commercial, airport, residential, commercial, recreational, residential, commercial. SECTION 4:KEEPING YOUR RANCH AFLOAT Now it's time to buy some crops. Fence off all your animals, and build a 2 large sheds. Inside this shed place all of the farm implements available, and two corn seeds. It couldn't hurt to also buy a few fertilizers and a couple pesti/herbi/fungicides. Now build a windmill, and send irrigation ditches around an eight by eight square. Now build your crop. You'll need to keep up on the pesti/herbi/fungicides, but don't overspray the crops, or you'll poison the soil. Keep on juggling livestock and plants, and be sure to expand your borders. Continue like this, and you should have the finest stock of animals and plants ever. Congratulations! SECTION 5:THE DISASTERS Disasters have varied usefulness in SimFarm. FLOOD:Use this one if your crops are too dry. FROST:No usefulness. DROUGHT:Use this if your crops are too wet. TORNADO:No usefulness. LOCUSTS:No usefulness. WINDSTORM:Unkown usefulness. SECTION 6:CODES TO HELP YOU(Or the town)OUT Hit enter after every code. ______________________________________________ |____________________________________________| |corn |Gives you $10000 | |fund |Gives town $10000 | |llama |Llama joke screen | |poultry |gives you 3 cows in perfect health | ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Acknowledgements: To GameFAQs, For hosting this Walkthrough.
