A. OVERVIEW

Star Ixiom is a brand new 3D-space shooter by Namco. When I first
stumbled across Namco's Star Ixiom web site about six months ago, I
became instantly excited! Namco – one of my favorite game companies –
was releasing a shooter! Yahoo!! I spent many hours on the Colony
Wars series and was ready for more and something different. Star Ixiom
is heavy on Japanese text – a language I'm unfamiliar with - so I am
unable to provide any detailed info regarding the various missions.

B.	MAIN MENU

TRAINING: This mode is for flying your own ship and learning the
basic ways to play the game.
COMMAND:	This is where you need to accomplish some small-scale
missions. The ultimate objective is to clear all the
                  missions.
CONQUEST:	This mode is a bit larger than COMMAND. In this mode, all
living creatures try to take you out! The objective –
                  DESTROY THE ENEMY!
OPTION:	Game settings. Do I really need to explain? ?
EXIT: Return to Title Screen

C.	PROGRESSING THROUGH THE GAME

There are 3 basic scenes in this game: "MAP", "COMBAT", and "BASE".
The main scene is the Combat scene (of course) where you get to fight
the bad guys. You must use all scenes as you progress through the game
in order to win. Following are the controller settings for each scene
followed by a brief synopsis of each.

E. BRIEF OVERVIEW

COMBAT SCENE

Get out of the base or press ? button in the MAP SCENE to go to the COMBAT
SCENE. In the COMBAT SCENE, you can attack your enemy with the your main
weapon – laser or sub-weapon. When you've "taken out the trash", display the
MAP SCENE and head to your next destination. Press the SELECT button to
switch viewpoints.

MAP SCENE

This is where you get to travel from one destination to another, by warp of
course! You can also view the "universe" as a whole to get a feel of where
everything is. Don't forget – you get to this scene by pressing the ? from
the COMBAT SCENE.

BASE SCENE

You get to the BASE SCENE by warping there from the MAP SCENE. When you
arrive at the BASE SCENE, you must go back to the COMBAT SCENE to complete
the landing/docking procedure. There are a number of sections within the
BASE. Instead of having to walk to each section, you can just press R1 and a
list of sections pops up. Choose the section you'd like to visit and your
character is automatically taken there. IMO, that's one of THE BEST options
I've ever scene in a video game. The BASE SCENE is also where you get to
talk to a lot of people. As I said previously, I do not know Japanese, so I
couldn't even begin to tell you what they say. But I'm sure it's important…

F. Revision History / Misc.

?	I fixed some formatting issues I notice after I submitted it to GameFAQs.
These are the only revisions I see myself making in the near future.

NOT SELL IT!

Also, please feel free to e-mail me any corrections or updates as
necessary. I could use the help! ?

?	This FAQ was written with the avid Playstation importer in mind. There
are two packaged versions of Star Ixiom: the Japanese version and the
Asian version. The Asian version comes with an insert that contains most
of what I've explained here. I've taken the liberty of reproducing most
of it for those that purchased the Japanese version and did not have
access to the insert.

?	Oh, yeah… HAVE FUN!!
