You can alternate between Story Mode and Hero Mode as you see fit. Just focusing on one or the other can be a bit boring. Just make sure that you collect every Dragon Ball that you see in Story Mode. - All Story Mode trophies: The Actors are All in Play! World Domination! Monster on a Full Moon Beginning of a Fantastic Tale Great Air Battle! Goodbye, Dragon World All 7 Are Here! That's One Big Dragon!! That One's Even Bigger!! Thank You Very Much!! - All Hero Mode trophies: I Changed the World! How Do I Look? Becoming Fashion Aware The Martial Artist's Path Master! Please Teach Me! Limit Breaker Growing in Power Point Getter Tapping into Latent Power Skill Master Which One Shall I Choose? Super Attack Collector Step 2) Get the rest of the offline trophies. You should unlock at least a few of these while completing the Story Mode and Hero Mode. As for the rest, you can finish them off as you see fit. I've provided strategies for all of them in this trophy guide. - All other offline trophies: I Still Want To Fight I Want to Fight Someone Strong! Fight Seeker Defense Learner Defense Professional Evasion Learner Evasion Fiend Interception Learner Counter Hero I See Right Through You! Expert Moves On Parade Master of Moves World Tournament Champion Cell Games Champion W.Tournament True Champion Cell Games True Champion Step 3) The Online Mode: You can either leave these until last or work on them concurrently with the rest of the trophies. Title King is the tricky one here. For getting the titles and wins, you can either boost with a friend, or just do it the manual way (as I did). - All online trophies: Battle Rookie Regular Battle Customer Battle Veteran Title Holder Title King ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The Trophy-By-Trophy Guide: ______________________________________________________________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ============================================================================== The Actors are All in Play! ============================================================================== Type: Silver Description: Excluding custom Heroes, unlock all characters and forms. You'll get this automatically while playing through the Story Mode. Once you beat Kid Buu, the credits will roll, earning you the 'Thank You Very Much!!!' trophy. You're not done yet though, as there are a few more fights left to do. Once you complete the Janemba and Broly battles, you'll get the trophy. ============================================================================== World Domination! ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Fight on all maps. You'll get this trophy once simply by playing through the Story Mode. You'll eventually fight on every map as you go. On the other hand, unlocking all stages for selection in multiplayer, CPU battle and online requires you to summon the dragon in the Story Mode at least a few times. Each time, you'll have the choice to wish for a new stage to be unlocked. Make sure that you choose it. There are four unlockable stages in the game: Supreme Kai's World Glacier Temple Ruined Planet Namek. I'm 80% sure that Ruined Planet Namek is unlocked after defeating Frieza during the Story Mode, rather than through the dragon. ============================================================================== Training All Over Again ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Do Training for the first time. Self explanatory. Simply start a battle in the Training Mode accessible from the main menu, and the trophy will unlock. ============================================================================== Don't Forget The Basics ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Complete Tutorial until the end. Go into the Tutorial section, then make sure to select every option and perform the actions the game tells you to do. I recommend playing through the whole Tutorial section before you start playing the game, as it explains a lot of important parts of the gameplay. ============================================================================== Beginning of a Fantastic Tale ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Win 1 Event Battle in Story Mode. This trophy will automatically unlock after your first battle in Story Mode. =============================================================================== Monster on a Full Moon =============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description:Clear a Giant Boss Battle in Story Mode for the first time. During the Story mode, you'll have to fight Vegeta in his Giant Ape form. This battle can be a little tough at first, but make sure to use the button to dodge to either the left or right when he attacks, and pay attention when you need to press the string of buttons - you have to be fairly quick. Once he's defeated, the trophy will unlock. ============================================================================== Great Air Battle! ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Do a Chase Battle in Story Mode for the first time. After winning the fight against Nappa with Goku, Vegeta will follow Goku and a chase will begin. The trophy will unlock as soon as it finishes. ============================================================================== Goodbye, Dragon World! ============================================================================== Type: Silver Description: Clear Story Mode for the first time. Just keep completing all the story battles until you finally reach the end. You'll know the end when you see it: the final battle in Story Mode is Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta fighting Omega Shenron. On a related note, you'll be able to gather one Dragon Ball every time you complete a story battle, so make sure to pick it up. They are marked on the Dragon Radar as little green dots. ============================================================================== I'm Going to Change the World! ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Win 1 Event Battle in Hero Mode. Event battles are marked by stars on the Dragon Radar. Simply fly over to the first one, select it, and win the battle (against Captain Ginyu) that begins to unlock this trophy. ============================================================================== Your Real Training Starts Here ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Clear Hero Mode training for the first time. Once you've chosen a Master in the Hero Mode's training menu, just complete their first sparring match and you'll unlock this trophy. Yamcha's training is the easiest. ============================================================================== All 7 Are Here! ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Obtain 7 Dragon Balls in Story Mode. In Story Mode, you'll be able to gather one Dragon Ball every time you complete a story battle, so make sure to pick it up. They are marked on the Dragon Radar as little green dots. Some Dragon Balls will be located at the World Martial Arts Tournament, so you'll have to win the tournament in order to get the Dragon Ball. ============================================================================== I Changed the World! ============================================================================== Type: Gold Description: Clear Hero Mode for the first time. This is much harder to do than clearing Story Mode. Unlike the strong characters offered to you in the Story Mode, your Hero starts out extremely weak, and takes a while to level up. Many of the Event Battles will probably give you trouble, with the fight against Piccolo being one that many people get stuck on. Always keep in mind that there are optional battles available on the map (marked by the blue symbols) at all times. Winning these will reward you with a small amount of AP each time. Every time that your Hero's stats level up (e.g. rank C to B), that part of him will get much stronger. It can take a while to gather enough points to get your Hero to a high level though, but you won't be able to beat the event battles if you don't get points. If you're stuck, or feel that you're strong enough but are having trouble getting through some of the event battles, you can always rely on some cheap tactics to make life easier. My tried and tested pro tip is this: After hitting your opponent with a Knockback Combo (Triangle button at the attack clash screen), you should be placed above them (in the air) since you smashed them into the ground at the end of the combo. I find that the combo where you knock your opponent upwards by pressing up on the control stick with each press of the Triangle button works best for this. Once they're down, repeatedly fire fully charged Ki blasts at your opponent, most will hit them (for good damage), and they won't be able to fight back at all. You can weaken them very easily using this method, then finish him them off at your leisure. Even the hardest level AI in this game are pretty much helpless if your character is directly above them. It's a cheap tactic, but very effective. I used it quite a few times to get the edge over my opponent. ============================================================================== How Do I Look? ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Obtain a Hero hairstyle for the first time. Easy, just keep picking up accessories until you find a hairstyle. Accessories are the cross/plus shaped white symbols marked on the Dragon Radar. New ones appear after each event/boss fight. ============================================================================== Becoming Fashion Aware ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Obtain a Hero costume for the first time. Just keep picking up accessories until you find a costume. Accessories are the cross/plus shaped white symbols marked on the Dragon Radar. New ones appear after each event/boss fight. ============================================================================== The Martial Artist's Path ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Obtain a Hero Fight Style for the first time. After choosing your first Master in the Hero Mode's training menu, simply complete all their training (instead of a percentage, a star icon will then be displayed next to their name on the list). You'll then be awarded with their Fight Style. ============================================================================== Master! Please Teach Me! ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Obtain a Hero Master for the first time. All you have to do is choose your first Master in Hero Mode's training menu (accessed with the Triangle button on the map screen). It's a very easy trophy. ============================================================================== Limit Breaker ============================================================================== Type: Silver Description: Obtain 20000 Hero AP. You'll want to do this after beating all the events in Hero Mode. If you've beaten Hero Mode, you'll have access to all the battles you've done before. Each of the stars on the map are event battles, and some give you more AP for winning than others. The most efficient training method that I found was to beat Captain Ginyu (the star at the Wasteland) repeatedly, since he's very easy to beat and gives about 50 AP each time. You can skip the story dialogue fairly quickly by repeatedly pressing the Start button and then the X button. If you start to get tired of beating him, you can always do another story battle for a little while. Piccolo (the star at the Glacier) is a good one as he gives about the same amount of points. He takes much longer to beat though. You can also alternate between doing the event fights and working on the training menu to help relieve any boredom. Just keep at it until the trophy unlocks. If you're using a Balanced Hero, this should be around the time that his skills reach the A rank. ============================================================================== Growing in Power ============================================================================== Type: Silver Description: Obtain 500 Hero AP. See 'Limit Breaker'. ============================================================================== Point Getter ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Obtain 1000 Hero AP. See 'Limit Breaker'. ============================================================================== Tapping into Latent Power ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Collect 10 Skills. See 'Skill Master'. ============================================================================== Skill Master ============================================================================== Type: Silver Description: Collect 20 Skills. Skills are one of the items that you are awarded with for completing battles in the Hero Mode's training menu. You'll know them when you see them since they are labelled, and will always have names like 'Melee Attack +4'. The various different Auras (such as Good Saiyan Aura) that you are awarded with also count as skills. You can view your earned skills by going into the Hero Mode's 'Customize Skills' menu from the capsule case. ============================================================================== Which One Shall I Choose? ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Collect 10 Super Attacks. See 'Super Attack Collector'. ============================================================================== Super Attack Collector ============================================================================== Type: Silver Description: Collect 30 Super Attacks. Super Attacks are one of the items that you are awarded with for completing battles in the Hero Mode's training menu. You'll know them when you see them since they are all named after various characters attacks (such as Galick Gun). You can view your earned Super Attacks by going into the Hero Mode's 'Customize Supers' menu from the Capsule Case. You can also unlock Super Attacks by playing through the game's Story Mode. Overall, this is a very easy trophy. ============================================================================== I Still Want To Fight ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description:Win 5 times in 1P vs. CPU battle. See 'Fight Seeker'. ============================================================================== I Want to Fight Someone Strong! ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Win 30 times in 1P vs. CPU battle. See 'Fight Seeker'. ============================================================================== Fight Seeker ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Win 50 times in a 1P vs. "Very Strong" CPU battle. This is going to take a while. All you can do is keep fighting and fighting until you win enough battles. Make sure that the opponent's difficulty is set to "Very Strong" before you begin. There's no point in fighting any battles on a lower difficulty. Here's a useful tip that will make it go faster: Create a new Hero in the Hero Mode's character creator (his type doesn't matter). Go back to Battle Mode, and choose this new Hero as your opponent. He'll have very low health and strength, making him very easy and quick to beat. The 'I still want to fight' and 'I want to fight someone strong' trophies will unlock as you go, and are a good marker of your progress. ============================================================================== Defense Learner ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Perform Defense Reaction-Guard 10 times total in real battle. You'll unlock this trophy while playing through the Story Mode and Hero Mode. ============================================================================== Defense Professional ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Perform Defense Reaction-Guard 100 times total in real battle. If you have two controllers, this trophy is easy. You'll have to spend some time in battle mode, selecting the 1P vs 2P option. Set the time limit to infinite. Player 1 must be the one who performs the Defense Reactions. The method works like this: Have Player 1 charge up his Ki so that he always has enough to perform whichever Defense Reaction you're working on. These are indicated by the three small symbols next to your character's Ki gauge, they look like this: http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e306/adman2006/Trophy-Guidepic.jpg If the blue one is highlighted, it means that you have enough Ki to perform a Guard Defense Reaction. If the yellow one is highlighted, it means you have enough Ki to perform an Evade Defense Reaction. If the red one is highlighted, it means you have enough Ki to perform an Intercept Defense Reaction. You can see these symbols light up as you charge your Ki. Have Player 2 shoot charged Ki blasts at Player 1 until Player 2 has enough power in his Special Attack gauge to use a Special Attack. Have him use the attack, and make Player 1 block/evade it using whichever Defense Reaction you want to work on. Continue this until Player 1's character is dead, then start a new battle and continue. In the case of the Evade Defense Reaction, as long as Player 1 succeeds in evading every time, he'll take no damage, and you can go on for a long time without having to worry about starting a new match. If you don't have a second controller, it's the hard way, fighting Story/Hero Mode enemies, CPU enemies and online opponents until you finally do enough of each type of Defense Reaction. ============================================================================== Evasion Learner ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Perform Defense Reaction-Evade 10 times total in real battle. You'll unlock this while playing through the Story Mode and Hero Mode. ============================================================================== Evasion Fiend ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Perform Defense Reaction-Evade 100 times total in real battle. See 'Defense Professional'. ============================================================================== Interception Learner ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Perform Defense Reaction-Intercept 10 times total in real battle. You'll unlock this while playing through the Story Mode and Hero Mode. ============================================================================== Counter Hero ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Perform Defense Reaction-Intercept 100 times total in real battle. See 'Defense Professional'. ============================================================================== Expert ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Successfully perform Clashes 20 times total in real battle. See 'I see right through you'. ============================================================================== I See Right Through You! ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Successfully perform Clashes 100 times total in real battle. You should unlock this over time as you play through the Story Mode and Hero Mode. It's not the kind of trophy that you need to go out of your way to get. An attack clash is represented by the screen where you need to choose whether to press the Square button or Triangle button to either hit or miss your opponent. ============================================================================== Moves On Parade ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Perform 50 Super Attacks total in real battle. You should unlock this over time as you play through the Story Mode and Hero Mode. It's not the kind of trophy that you need to go out of your way to get. If by some chance it doesn't unlock, you can always go and do some battles in the game's Battle Mode against a CPU opponent, using Super Attacks as much as possible. ============================================================================== Master of Moves ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Perform 50 Ultimate Attacks total in real battle. Like the previous trophy, you should unlock this over time as you play through the Story Mode and Hero Mode. You shouldn't need to go out of your way to unlock it, as long as you make sure to use your Ultimate Attack every now and then while fighting. If it doesn't unlock, you can always go and do some battles in the game's Battle Mode against a CPU opponent, using Ultimate Attacks as much as possible. It won't take long for the trophy to unlock. ============================================================================== World Tournament Champion ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Win the World Tournament. See 'Cell Games True Champion'. ============================================================================== Cell Games Champion ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Win the Cell Games. See 'Cell Games True Champion'. ============================================================================== W.Tournament True Champion ============================================================================== Type: Silver Description: Champion of World Tournament on Hard Difficulty. See 'Cell Games True Champion'. ============================================================================== Cell Games True Champion ============================================================================== Type: Silver Description: Champion of Cell Games on Hard Difficulty. For both the World Tournament and Cell Games trophies, the strategy is the same. Don't bother to try and get the trophies separately, start playing the tournaments at Hard difficulty straight away. This will allow you to get both trophies for each tournament in one go. Set the number of opponents to 4 to make things easier. If you're having trouble defeating your opponents, don't be afraid to resort to the tip I listed under the 'I Changed the World!' trophy. It will help. --Online Trophies-- ============================================================================== Battle Rookie ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Battle in an online battle 1 time. See 'Battle Veteran'. ============================================================================== Regular Battle Customer ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Fight in an online battle 10 times. See 'Battle Veteran'. ============================================================================== Battle Veteran ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Fight in an online battle 30 times. This is a very easy trophy. Simply keep playing online matches (it doesn't matter whether they're Player or Ranked) until you unlock the trophy. You can keep track of how many battles you've done in the Battle Record section of the Online Mode. You can boost this trophy if you like, but it won't make a lot of difference. ============================================================================== Title Holder ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Collect 5 or more titles. See 'Title King'. ============================================================================== Title King ============================================================================== Type: Silver Description: Collect 30 or more titles. This can be a rather time consuming trophy. You can either try to boost this trophy or simply do it yourself. While 30 sounds like a large number, there's some pretty easy ones that you can get. For example: Win 20 battles with Special Attacks, Win 20 battles with Ultimate Attacks, Defend and Counter 20 times. You also get one title for each character that you use 20 times in battle, and each stage that you fight on 30 times. There's also some general ones, like Use characters 20 times, Win 20-50 battles, Lose 25 battles. There's a full list of all the titles in the game's Online Mode, so take a look through it and focus on earning the easy ones. ============================================================================== That's One Big Dragon!! ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Summon Shenron for the first time. This is obtained in the Story Mode. You'll be able to gather one Dragon Ball every time you complete a story battle, so make sure to pick it up. They are marked on the Dragon Radar as little green dots. Some Dragon Balls will be located at the World Martial Arts Tournament, so you'll have to win the tournament in order to get the Dragon Ball. ============================================================================== That One's Even Bigger!! ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: Summon Porunga for the first time. This works similarly to the previous trophy. During the Frieza saga part of the Story Mode, make sure that you collect every Dragon Ball that appears (keep an eye on your Dragon Radar, and always fly around a bit to check if you can't see one at first). Once you have all seven during the Frieza saga, summon the dragon and Porunga will appear instead of Shenron. He'll grant you three wishes instead of the usual one. ============================================================================== Thank You Very Much!! ============================================================================== Type: Gold Description: Watch the Credits. Once you beat Kid Buu in the Story Mode, the credits will roll and the trophy will unlock. ============================================================================== Dragon Ball Doctorate ============================================================================== Type: Bronze Description: View all character profiles in the Character Encyclopedia. As the trophy description says, you need to view EVERY character's profile in the Encyclopedia. To do this, you'll need to have already cleared Story Mode. Once you've done that, select Goku's character profile and press R1 to slowly scroll through every character until you do a full circle and see Goku's profile again. Leave the character profile screen, and the trophy will unlock. Once you've got all of the above trophies: ============================================================================== Over 9000!!! ============================================================================== Type: Platinum! Description: Obtain all the trophies. Congrats, the Platinum is yours! :) ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Handy Tips Section ______________________________________________________________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Glitch for getting Hero Mode AP fast: Check out this thread: http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/dragon-ball-z-ultimate -tenkaichi/131799-helpful-possible-glitch-hero-mode.html Dragon Balls: If you're wondering about how to collect the Dragon Balls after clearing the Story Mode, you can use the Time Machine to go back to an earlier point in the story and continue to collect them.
