inFamous 2 Trophy Guide By Wombat 908 1)Introduction inFamous 2 is the highly anticipated to one of 2009's best game's inFamous. Following the journey of Cole McGrath, players had the choice to be the saviour of Empire City or it's downfall. Now, Cole is back for inFamous 2 as the Beast rampages New Marais while Cole looks for Blast Cores so that he has the power to stop the fearsome creature. Along the way, Cole will be trophy hunting as well. He'll be taking down veranda's, killing those annoying street performers and collecting Blast Shards around the city. But Cole will need all the help he can get and that's why he's come to me. Dr Wolfe's other animal surnamed friend, Dr Wombat. Dr Wombat will assist you in getting those trophies needed to take down the Beast down once and for all. Follow Dr Wombat's instructions and that final Platinum trophy will be yours! Dr Pigeon will also be Cole's backup as he explores New Marais. WARNING: There will be spoilers in this. It's pretty much impossible to avoid, especially on some of the story trophies. Just be wary in what you're reading and if you spoil yourself then don't send an angry email my way. I'd advise completing the main storylines before going out for all the other trophies. Or just skip the story trophies as they're fairly basic and easy to understand. These will come naturally as you progress through the story campaign. Because there are two campaigns in inFamous 2, Good and Evil, I've split this into two categories. 'Good Story Playthrough Trophies', 'Evil Story Playthrough Trophies' and 'Neutral Story Playthrough Trophies', the final one being for trophies you can get on either playthrough. I'm so nice to you guys. I also have OCD so I had to do it this way. 3.1: Good Story Playthrough Trophies Playing as a goody-two shoes will get you these trophies. They're simple and nothing too hard, just righteous moral decisions that you can only get on your Hero playthrough. Quid Pro Kuo (Bronze) Description: Complete 'Leading the Charge'. In the mission Torn you will have a choice to either join Nix to send a running bus into the building close to where Kuo is held up, or you can join Zeke in freeing the cops. Because we're playing as Good, we will free those cops. Run to the mission "Leading the Charge" and complete it for this action-packed trophy. Ambulance Chaser (Bronze) Complete Hearts and Minds Campaign Because Kuo and Nix really do like each other, you have another choice for missions to do. Well, not really a choice, you can be good here or you can be good if you want this trophy. Once the cut-scene full of agreement has ended, run to the mission "Hearts and Minds". Complete it for the trophy. Status Kuo (Bronze) Choose Kuo in 'Storm the Fort' Oooh, Status Quo. Status Kuo. I see what you did there. With the choice to take Kuo or Nix's powers, press R2 to go with Kuo. The results are very cool. And you get a trophy so it's even cooler. Exposure (Bronze) Complete 'Exposing Bertrand' Again, you will have the choice of joining Nix or Kuo in either 'Nix's new family' or 'Exposing Betrand'. We are good so we will go for 'Exposing Bertrand'. Complete this mission (which is surprisingly lengthy) for your trophy. Frozen Assets (Bronze) Complete the Ice Conduit missions You shouldn't be doing this anyway but if you mix Good and Evil side missions together, you won't be able to unlock these missions. They appear on the second island. Keep playing story missions around there until these appear. You need to complete them in order and each need to be unlocked by completing certain story missions. Complete all 4 to get your trophy. The missions are as follows: Unlikely Allies Stay Frosty The Big Chill Mercy Kill If you just complete every Good side mission you see when you see them, you'll get this trophy with ease. Incorruptible (Silver) Earn full positive Karma The Karma system is simple and easy to work out. If you keep doing good deeds and acts (Choosing Kuo over Nix, Good side missions, stopping crimes in progress), you will slowly begin to rank up. Anything that is the colour blue is a good choice and act to make. You'll start at Guardian Level, move up to Champion and eventually, Hero. Keep filling those blue bars as high as they can go to get the trophy. Carrying over a Karma level from inFamous will give you a slight advantage in getting this trophy that little bit quicker. Fight the Good Fight (Silver) Unlock the good ending Before anything, note that this trophy is glitched. To unlock it you'll have to let the credits roll so don't skip them or the trophy may not unlock. The credits don't take too long and it'll give you enough time to grab a box of tissues so you can wipe away the tears following the ending of the game. *Sniff* Choose Nix over Kuo in the mission by pressing L2 and complete the mission which will lead onto the final cut scene and the end of the game. Just don't skip anything and you should get this trophy. The mission is significantly different to the Good ending so be prepared for some shocks and surprises. 3.2: Evil Story Playthrough Trophies "You were right all along Miss Kuo. I am the villain of this story" Slight change to an epic quote from Smallville which applies here. Be an evil [CENSORED] to get these trophies, only available on your evil playthrough. A streetcar named Boom! (Bronze) Description: Complete 'BOOM' In the mission Torn you will have a choice to either join Nix to send a running bus into the building close to where Kuo is held up, or you can join Zeke in freeing the cops. Because we're playing as Evil, we will join Nix in sending a truck into the manor house. Because that's how we roll. Run to the mission 'Boom' Playing Both Sides (Bronze) Complete 'Fooling the Rebels' Because Kuo and Nix really do like each other, you have another choice for missions to do. Well, not really a choice, you can be evil here or you can be evil if you want this trophy. Once the cut-scene full of agreement has ended, run to the mission "Fooling the Rebels". Complete it for the trophy. Rebel Scum! Get Nix'ed (Bronze) Choose Nix in 'Storm the Fort' Similar to Status Kuo (though not such a witty title), you will have the choice to share either Nix or Kuo's powers. Choose Nix to get this trophy with a simple press of the L2 button. Am I the Daddy? (Bronze) Complete 'Nix's New Family' Again, you will have the choice of joining Nix or Kuo in either 'Nix's new family' or 'Exposing Betrand'. We are evil so we will go for 'Nix's new family'. Complete this mission (which is surprisingly lengthy) for your trophy. The Cleaner You shouldn't be doing this anyway but if you mix Good and Evil side missions together, you won't be able to unlock these missions. These appear on the first and second island. Keep playing story missions until these appear. You need to complete them in order and each need to be unlocked by completing certain story missions. The first one is a story mission early on in the game while the others are optional. The missions are as follows: Taking out the Trash The Hunt Assassin's Greed If you just complete every Evil side mission you see when you see them, you'll get this trophy with ease. Arch Villain (Silver) Earn full negative Karma The Karma system is simple and easy to work out. If you keep doing evil deeds and acts (Choosing Nix over Kuo, Evil side missions, stopping crimes in progress), you will slowly begin to rank up. Anything that is the colour red is a good choice and act to make. You'll start at Thug Level, move up to Outlaw and eventually, Infamous. Keep filling those red bars as high as they can go to get the trophy. Carrying over a Karma level from inFamous will give you a slight advantage in getting this trophy that little bit quicker. Forging your own Path (Silver) Unlock the Evil ending Before anything, note that this trophy is glitched. To unlock it you'll have to let the credits roll so don't skip them or the trophy may not unlock. The credits don't take too long and it'll give you enough time to grab a fresh drink to celebrate that you will never have to bother with Nix or Kuo yelling in your ear about what to do. Choose Nix over Kuo in the mission by pressing L2 and complete the mission which will lead onto the final cut scene and the end of the game. Just don't skip anything and you should get this trophy. The mission is significantly different to the Good ending so be prepared for some shocks and surprises. 3.3: Neutral Story Playthrough Trophies You'll get these trophies simply by playing the game, your Karma choice has no play on these two trophies. Closed Casket Affair (Bronze) Give Bertrand what he wants. Towards the end of the game, you'll face Bertrand for the second time in the mission 'Demons' You need to complete the mission and defeat Bertrand to earn the trophy. It's a fun mission that is quite lengthy as you're fighting Bertrand in his huge monster form while protecting your buddies at the same time. No pressure... Pain builds Character (Gold) Finish the game on Hard difficulty READ THIS: The game does not give you the option before you play to choose what difficulty you will play on, like Call of Duty does. As soon as the cut scene with Zeke and Cole on the boat ends, when you can, pause the game and go to the options menu. Change your difficulty and don't touch that again. Changing it again will ruin your chances of getting the trophy. Hard mode isn't that bad, just note that using the Amp in large group of enemies that wield guns is suicide. Shockwaves or grenades are great for clearing enemies away from you and if you need to run, run I would personally advise doing you Hard playthrough on your Evil run because you won't be penalized for Bio-Leeching enemies and since they give you full health and energy. Also you can spam grenades and not worry about hitting civilians. Any enemies that you don't see as part of the mission ignore. Getting as many as Blast Shards as possible will be annoying but you'll have much more energy to store. Side missions unlock powers so do those as well. Just keep ploughing through the enemies, there are no real tough parts. Good luck and may the force be with you. For lack of a better good luck phrase. ------------------- 4: Combat Trophies ------------------- All these trophies will be unlocked during combat, A.K.A beating the living snot out of Militia, Corrupted and Ice Soldiers. Just keep on fighting and pull off these special trophy moves to get the trophies. Army of Me (Bronze) Defeat 300 enemies. Do I really need to explain this to you? I do? Tough. Go figure it out for yourself. Finish what you started (Bronze) Perform 100 finishers or ultra melee combos. Notice that after you buy the upgrade needed, when you use the Amp, you'll unlock a little combo meter on the side. With a couple of hits to an enemy, this meter will begin to fill. For a part of the game it will only fill halfway. When it does, the /\ button will flash. Press this for a finishing move which regardless of an enemies health will take them out in one swipe. An ultra melee combo is when the meter fills to the top (As part of an upgrade you will be able to purchase with the second blast core you grab) and it's the same thing, only the move is more cinematic and 10x cooler. Pull any one of these off 100 times for a amped up trophy. Head Hunter (Bronze) Use the Precision ability to rack up three headshots in rapid succession Once you unlock Precision Ability, find 3 enemies and attempt to get a headshot on all 3 of them as quick as you can. It's not too hard of a trophy but if your aim isn't great then you can get this quite easily on a Crusher. They're the Ice Soldiers that can build Ice towers to get a high ground. Shoot them in the head 3 times fast and this trophy will still count. I'm as shocked as you are (Bronze) Defeat an enemy or civilian by stepping in water Self explanatory but if you need help, that's what I'm here for. Flood Town, the train yards and the swamp are all good places to do this. Flood Town is perhaps the best as often you will see civilians treading through the water. Jump close to them and wait to see them die from the shock. Knockout in the Blackout (Bronze) Defeat 50 enemies in powered down areas while no missions are active. This is most probably the hardest trophy in the game. Powered down areas are where there is little electricity. Your map will be full of static in these areas. Enemies are much harder to tackle as there will be turrets, enemies with miniguns and helicopters. You can't attempt these in missions either. This trophy is missable too as once you power up the city, you can't disable the power. You will most probably die multiple times while doing this but it's possible. If you can escape you can run out the powered down areas and recharge where power is available. Stick close to the borders so you're prepared. It's tricky but possible. Return to Sender (Bronze) Send a Helicopters Rockets back at it using any Blast Ability. Helicopters don't appear too often but will if you find the correct mission. One of these is the aptly titled, Monsters VS Helicopters, on the first island. Once you get the chance to play it, run to the Helicopter and distract it by shooting it a few times. It will toy with you and shoot at you but it isn't very accurate. Once it's red laser beams point at you, that means it's going to send rockets at you. Once they're fired, just spam your shockwave (Alpha is reccommended) repeatedly until they get the copter. Shock and Awe (Bronze) Thunder drop into a group of 5 or more enemies This is tough but only because finding 5 enemies who will gladly stick by one another so you can Thunder drop down on them is tough. However this is made easy by a side mission found early on in the game named Masquerade where a load of Militia have dressed up as statues. I'm not quite sure why... Anyway, get their attention and then climb a building. Wait for them to come close to the building and make sure you'll be able to injure 5 of them (There's a good 10-15 of them) and then Thunder drop on them. Vehicular Manslaughter (Bronze) Defeat 25 enemies by throwing cars at them You'll get your first blast core real early on in the game and it gives you Kinetic Pulse the ability to throw objects at enemies or anything. You can even throw cars! And you need to, for this trophy you need to kill 25 enemies with thrown cars. Lift it, aim it, throw it, kill it. When the bonus 'Special Delivery' appears, that means you got the kill. Repeat until you get the trophy. Watch that first step (Bronze) Defeat an enemy by destroying the object they stand on This is a easy one to wrap up the Combat section. If you find an enemy on a Veranda (Roofed balconies attached to buildings) and destroy those from below, the enemy should fall and hopefully be taken out with it. They are commonly found in the first island and you can get this soon after you arrive there with Kuo. -------------------------- 5: Miscellaneous Trophies -------------------------- Back to the Bayou (Bronze) Return to the Swamp Blockade This trophy can be a pain if you screw up. Once you get the third blast core and get your upgraded static thrusters you can go back to the little village you arrived at, real early on in the game. Go the docks and hover over to the vertical pole and then follow the ziplines and the platforms until you get to the village. The trophy will pop soon after. Avoid the water though as if you land in it, you'll just go back, back, back, back, back to the start. Cole' Blooded (Bronze) Defeat 100 Civilians It would be wise to do this on an Evil playthrough. Just run around and zap and kill any civilians you see. If you get the little Bystander (1xp) bonus then you're doing it right. Dazed and Defused (Bronze) Take down the Blast Shard Bomber There's a side mission on the second Island called 'The Gauntlet'. In it you will have to take down the Blast Shard Bomber. Chase him for a little while and then the Karma choice of either draining the bomb or shooting him so the bomb explodes, killing civilians in the process. Depending on your Karma choice, choose how to take him down and end the mission for this simple trophy. Discerning Taste (Bronze) Take down a street performer who is imitating a statue These appear as little red circles with a saxophone symbol in the middle. They either lead to a musical performance or a man imitating a statue. You can kill either for fun but you'll get a trophy for the statue performer's death. They like to hang out in front of the cathedral. Find one and marble at how easy a trophy it was. Heh... marvel, marble? I'm here for the rest of the guide. Whether you like it or not. Don't fence me in (Bronze) Climb a Chain Link Fence and rejoice. You should prepare for this one. Only the die-hard inFamous fans will achieve this rare trophy. If you get it, I can only congratulate you. Many fans have been victims to sheer breakdowns for this trophy has broken them down into quivering weaklings. If you have the strength to navigate New Marais, find a fence and *gulp* climb over it, well done. This is only for the faint of heart. Express Elevator (Bronze) Ascend 50 Vertical Launch Poles Launch poles are the yellow and black poles that once you leap on them, they'll send you flying up the building for a quick boost. You can either jump on the same one 50 times over but you'll most probably get this while travelling around the city on different launch poles. Extreme Makeover (Bronze) Destroy 30 Verandas or other large objects. The 2 most common large objects are the verandas and huge oil tanks. Verandas are commonly found on the first island, oil tanks on the second. Just blow them up and let them crumble. If you get the bonus 'Big Destruction' then you're getting closer to the trophy Go Long! (Bronze) Hurl 50 objects using the Kinetic Pulse ability Similar to Vehicular Manslaughter only you don't need to kill anyone. Just keep throwing anything that is throw able and you'll get the trophy eventually. Of course blowing up a few more Militia with those many cabs can't do any harm. Well it can but it's fun. Fun, fun, fun, fun. Heavy Hitter (Bronze) Use your ionic powers 30 times You get your ionic powers early on in the game and that point you can only store one glowing purple ball of ionicness. New words are cool. For this trophy you don't actually have to hit anyone for it to count, all you need to do is use it. Once you complete the acquired number of side missions, you can store up to 3 glowing balls of ionicness. Then you can just spam your ionic powers until you get the trophy. Enemies will often drop balls of ionicness so take them out and keep on going until you hit 30. Hero to the People (Bronze) Stop 80 Crimes in Progress This will be done on your Good playthrough. The little crimes that appear on your mini map count towards these trophies. Their are muggings, several hostages surrounded by Militia and bomb. When you see these as you roam around the city, stop the crime by killing the militia or draining the bomb and you'll have won. 80 of these will nag you the trophy. It's my Town now (Silver) Take over the second island in New Marais See Land Lord which is conveniently right below this post. Land Lord (Silver) Take over the first Island in New Marais You take over an island by completing side missions so that enemy patrols won't return to the area. A border will go around the entirety of the map once all the side missions have been done. If you see areas of the map that have a red and white outline around them, that means a hidden package mission or Convoy mission can be obtained there, from killing enemies in the perimeter. Do this on the first and second island for the respective trophies. It will be slightly time consuming but it will make the game much easier with less enemies to combat against. Mountaineer (Bronze) Climb to the top of the 3 tallest buildings in New Marais You won't be able to get this until towards the end of the game. 1)The first building is the Clock Tower where you'll get your first Dead Drop. It's opposite the bridge that you'll take to get over to Flood Town. You need to climb to the very top for this to count. 2)The second building is the Cathedral. This is hard to miss on your map, the big round green/ grey area, just down the road from the Clock Tower you were just at. You need to climb for the very top for this, either of the two bell towers will do. 3)The final building is the Ice Tower where you get the final blast core and it's the highest point of the game. It's in the top right corner of the second island and you need to climb to the top of the antenna to get the trophy. Nothing can bring me Down (Bronze) Stay off the ground for 130 metres You can do this at any of the 3 buildings mentioned above, the Clock Tower, Cathedral or Ice Tower. You'll need your upgraded static thrusters for this. Climb to the very top of any of the 3 buildings, jump off and keep flying forwards while using your static thrusters. Avoid any buildings or potential obstacles as if you grab onto anything before you reach the full 130, this will cancel out your efforts. Take them for a spin (Bronze) Hit at least 6 cars in a single Ionic Vortex. This isn't too bad. Find a street with a load of cars and using kinetic pulse, move them around so that they are all close together and can be taken away in one ionic vortex move. I'd advise grabbing 7-10 cars, just to be on the safe side of getting this trophy. Having a second or third vortex at hand in case you screw up wouldn't hurt either. Thunder Flop (Bronze) Thunder drop from the highest place in New Marais To the Ice Tower people! Climb that thing and reach the top of the antenna. Then Thunder Drop. All the way to the bottom. BOOM! -------------------- 6: Upgrade Trophies -------------------- There are quite a few upgrades in inFamous 2 and will require a load of XP to get them. Just keep on grabbing Blast Shards, Dead Drops, complete side missions, defeat enemies and the 500+ bonus for completing a story mission is always handy. Matching Set (Bronze) Unlock and purchase a power of each set by performing stunts There are some powers that can only be got by performing stunts and then purchasing the powers. Complete a stunt and buy a power from each category to get this trophy. Here's a list of the cheapest powers to buy from each set. Your Karma choice will impact this trophy. Bolts Pincer Bolt Cost: 400 XP Stunt Required: Take down six enemies. Blasts Detonation Blast Cost: 600 XP Stunt Required: Complete five 'Watch your step' stunts. Dead Drops and Blast Shards are back from inFamous but things are different and much easier this time round. I'm not going to do a complete guide for the Shards because... because I would be here for the rest of my life. However I will link you to some maps done by IGN. I take no credit for them, they are all IGN's work. Behind the Curtain (Bronze) Collect 50% of the Dead Drops. There are 29 Dead Drops. Collect 15 of them for the trophy. Check out the maps below to see where each of them are stationed. Well inFORMED (Silver) Collect all Dead Drops There are 29 Dead Drops. Collect all 29 of them for the trophy. Check out the maps below to see where each of them are stationed. http://uk.ign.com/wikis/infamous-2/Blast_Shards Shardcore (Silver) Pick up 50% of the Blast Shards scattered around New Marais There are 305 Blast Shards. Collect 153 of them for the trophy. Check out the maps below to see where each of them are stationed. Just one more (Gold) Pick up all the Blast Shards scattered around New Marais There are 305 Blast Shards. Collect all 305 of them for the trophy. Check out the maps below to see where they are stationed. http://uk.ign.com/wikis/infamous-2/Blast_Shards Note that once you complete 60 side mission, you'll be able to buy the Blast Shard Sense for2500 XP which will show you the location of the closest Blast Shard to you on your mini map. So if you're in Ascension Parish and the closest shard is in Flood Town, it'll point you there. It's really handy in collecting those last few shards you'll need. ----------------------------------- 8: User Generated Content Trophies ----------------------------------- UGC- Trail Blazer (Bronze) Play 5 user-generated missions under the Newest filter. Once you unlock User Generated Content (UGC for short), pause the game and scroll down to UGC. Go to the Mission Filters and change to Newest. Then simply find 5 UGC missions, beat them and you have your trophy. UGC- UGC Curious (Bronze) Play 10 User-Generated Missions This can be continued from Trail-Blazer, just keep doing 5 more missions under the Newest Filter. However you can change the filter if you wish, just play 5 more missions to unlock this. UGC- UGC Veteran- Bronze Play 25 user-generated missions. 15 more missions! Go, go, go! UGC- Level Up- Bronze Create a new mission using the UGC Level Editor You don't actually have to finish and publish a mission so don't panic. You can enter the Mission Creator, create a few objects, save and then exit. Alternatively you can find a mission, go to Remix it again do something really simple and save and exit. Easy trophy. ------------------- 9: Platinum Trophy ------------------- inFamous 2 Platinum Trophy (Platinum) Collect all other inFamous 2 trophies Yay! You reached the end. Congratulations! This will obviously come when you get every other trophy in the game. Give me a high 5! There you go. Drinks are on me. Unless you're under 18 then there's orange juice on the side there. ------------------------------------------------------- 10: FAQ, Contact Details, Credits and Legal Mumbo Jumo ------------------------------------------------------- FAQ: 1) Should I buy inFamous before inFamous 2 A: Yes. Yes indeed. inFamous is still a great game that should be played by all. The story for it leads into inFamous 2 and you'll need to play it to understand some references back to inFamous. Go, play it. Go! It's part of the PS3 Welcome Back Package so it's free. 2) How long will it take me to Platinum the game? A: Hmm, I would estimate 30-40 hours. Blast Shards take a long time to collect, gaining all the XP is time consuming and you need to go through the 12+ hour campaign twice so quite a bit of time 3) On a scale of 1-10 how hard is this Platinum? A: 3. Maybe a 4. Hard mode is only tough in a few areas but nothing that will have you screaming at the TV. Blast Shards will seem annoying until you get Blast Shard Sense and then your life will be changed forever. The chain link fence trophy will almost get this a 8 though. Overcome that and you'll be sorted. 4) Can I add you on PSN? A: No. I did this in a guide before and I got 50+ requests from people. Considering my friends list is close to the limit already (Sony, give us more space) I don't want to add people unless I talk to them often or know them personally. Sorry. 5) Will you play my UGC mission? A: I think there's a search feature coming soon to the game. If you really want that extra play and a rating I won't mind too much. Shoot me an email (contact information below) and I'll hop on and play it. Contact Details My email is [email protected]. I'm pretty good at writing back as GMail is really easy to access and I check my email every couple of days. As long as it's not lost among the Tumblr/ Facebook/ Twitter spam I get, I'll write back to you as soon as possible. If you have a question, noticed something I got wrong in the guide or just want to say thanks, I'll respond to it at some point. Note: Apologies to anyone who sent an email a week or so after the guide up, I had a full stop added in the email address which shouldn't have been there. The correct address is there now. Credits Sucker Punch for making two incredibly awesome games that will forever be some of my favourite games of my collection. IGN for those maps. I don't envy you guys in making those maps.
