Get the Sword and the Shield

Exit Link's house, go down the ladder, and talk to the girl named Saria. Facing away
from the ladder, follow the left wall around and up the ramp to a meadow with a
series of fences. Follow the path through the fences to a small tunnel. Enter the
tunnel and crawl through it. Follow the passageway, avoiding the rolling boulder, to
reach a large treasure chest. Open it to receive the Kokiri Sword. Return to the
village, enter the Shop, and purchase the Deku Shield for 40 Rupees.

Deku Tree
Enter the Deku Tree

Facing away from Link's house, go forward to the dirt path and turn right. Go forward
and cross the water to reach a large tunnel entrance. After talking Mido, follow the
one-way path to reach the Great Deku Tree. Watch the cinema sequence, then enter the
opening to the Deku Tree.
Deku Tree - Get the Slingshot

After you enter the Deku Tree, face away from the large doorway and go straight
forward across the web to reach a wall with vines on it. Climb the vines to the top
to reach a ledge. Follow the ledge to the door at the top and enter it. Defeat the
Deku Scrub and speak to it to open the door. Enter the door, go to the opposite side
of the room, and open the big treasure chest to receive the Fairy's Slingshot.
Deku Tree - Break the Web

After you get the Fairy's Slingshot, use it to shoot the ladder down and exit the
room. Go through the next door, turn right and follow the ledge to a big treasure
chest. Climb to the top of the vines behind the big treasure chest, then go left and
drop onto the ledge. Continue left to the first Big Skulltula blocking an opening in
the web fence, destroy it, then drop through the opening to land in the center of the
giant floor web. The web will break and Link will land on B1.
Deku Tree - Defeat the Three Deku Scrubs

After breaking the giant web and landing on B1, climb onto the ledge with the single
unlit brazier and step on the nearby switch to light it. Touch a Deku Stick to the
brazier to set it on fire, then quickly cross the shallow water and use the flame to
destroy the spider web blocking the door. Enter the door and use the Slingshot to hit
the eye switch to open the next door. Enter the door to find a room with a moving
spiked log. Drop into the water, then dive down and touch the underwater switch to
temporarily lower the water. Quickly get back on land near the entrance, jump onto
the moving platform and ride it to reach other side of the room.

Grab the large block and pull it to the other end of the groove in the ground, then
climb on it to reach the ledge. Enter the door and use a Deku Stick to light the two
unlit braziers in this room to unlock the next door. Enter the door and use a burning
Deku Stick to burn the web on the opposite side of the room from the brazier.

Enter the small tunnel, and crawl through it to reach a ledge. Grab the large block,
and push it into the water. Drop down and light a Deku Stick with the short brazier,
then climb back onto block to reach the ledge. Swing the burning stick at the web on
the ground to destroy the web and fall down to floor B2 where you'll find three Deku
Scrubs.

Stun the Deku Scrubs in the following order (facing the door), from left to right: 2,
3, 1. Speak to the far-left Scrub to receive a clue and open the door.
Deku Tree - Defeat Gohma

After defeating the Deku Scrubs, enter the next room and look at the ceiling to begin
the battle with the Boss, Gohma. Wait for the Gohma to fall on the ground, then
Z-Target it. Wait for it's only eye to turn red, then shoot it with the Sling Shot to
stun it. When it's stunned, hit it as fast as possible with the Kokiri Sword. The
Gohma will go back up to the ceiling and drop two or three regular Gohmas. Destroy
these Gohmas with any weapon.

When the big Gohma goes back onto the ground, repeat the attack: stun it then use the
Kokiri Sword to damage it. Repeat this process until it's destroyed. There are bushes
along the edge of the room to refill Link's life or to get more Deku Seeds for the
Slingshot. After defeating Gohma, step into the blue light to exit the dungeon and
receive the first Spiritual Stone, Kokiri's Emerald.

Walk along the pathway, following the right wall, and climb the vines to a ledge. Go
along the ledge and across the stone arch to get caught by a guard who throws Link
outside the gate. Walk away from the gate to find Malon next to the vines. Talk to
her to receive the Weird Egg.

Enter Castle Courtyard

After you get the Weird Egg, climb back up the vines, and climb down the ladder in
the stone wall. Exit the room, follow the road, and climb the left bank before
reaching the next pair of guards. Walk toward the flowers and cross the field to a
single guard at the steps of the castle. Climb the small, uneven rock wall to the
left of the guard, cross the ledge, and drop onto the path that surrounds the castle.
Drop into the moat, go right and get out of water at the corner.

Turn left, and walk to the sleeping man, Talon. If the time has changed from night to
day, the Weird Egg will now be a Rooster. Use the Rooster to wake Talon and talk to
him until he leaves. Grab and move each of the ox-head boxes into the moat to make a
stack. Climb onto the boxes and go forward quickly to make Link automatically jump
across the water to a ledge on the other side. Enter the small opening to appear in
the Castle Courtyard.

Learn Zelda's Lullaby

After entering the Castle Courtyard, follow the path, hiding behind the shrubs to
avoid the wandering guards, until you find Princess Zelda. After speaking with Zelda,
and saying yes to all of her questions, she will give you Zelda's Letter. As you
exit, Zelda's guardian, Impa, will teach you how to play Zelda's Lullaby on the Ocarina.

Learn Saria's Song

After learning Zelda's Lullaby, you will automatically exit the castle. Return to
Kokiri Forest. As you enter the forest, immediately turn left, and climb onto the

and go up the steps. Go to the right and up the next set of steps and show the
soldier Zelda's Letter to open the gate to Death Mountain Trail.

Follow the sloping path, past the red windsock and through the large doorway to enter
Goron City. Drop to the very bottom of the town and stand in front of the doorway
with the gray rug. Play Zelda's Lullaby to open the door and enter it to locate the

unlock the door. Follow the hallway, and step onto the switch to unlock the door on
the opposite side of the room.

Cross the room, enter the doorway you unlocked and continue forward to a pillar
surrounded by Bomb Flowers. Go to the only other door in the room, pick up a Bomb

with a treasure chest and Bomb Flower. Pick up the Bomb and throw it at the large
stone door above the ladder to create an opening. Enter the opening you created and

sinks into the lava. Turn right, go onto the ledge and place a Bomb next to the
bricks to reveal a door. Enter the door, step on the floor switch to free the Goron,
and open the treasure chest for a Key.

left wall to reach a door. Facing the door, turn right and go across the wooden

to reveal a door and enter it. Follow the room around to a shallow pit. Hit the
raised pillar with the Hammer to make stairs appear, then grab one of the small boxes
and go down the stairs.

and walk to the end of the ledge. Jump onto the mesh floor and quickly cross to the
middle of the room. Face the locked door on the high ledge and get on the mesh floor
on the right. Stand in front of the pillar closest to the door, then move quickly
toward the ledge where the locked door is to make Link jump and grab onto the ledge.

Enter the locked door, and continue through the one-way hallway to enter the next
door. In the next room, drop off the ledge and go forward to the wall with the
windows. Turn left and work your way through the small maze of flame walls to reach a
locked door. Enter the door, go through the hallway and enter the next door to appear

flames reappear. Go into the alcove and use a Bomb to destroy the fake door. Enter
the real door and defeat the Flare Dancer, then get onto the platform in the middle
of the room to be carried to floor 4F.

chest, then quickly go up the narrow steps along the large hole in the floor. Once at
the top open the big treasure chest to get the Megaton Hammer.

Boss, Volvagia.

Watch the holes in the ground for flames. When flames shoot out of a hole, Volvagia
will pop up from that same opening. When the Boss's head is out of the hole, quickly
Z-Target Volvagia and hit it with the Hammer. Keep hitting the Boss with the Hammer
until he disappears. Occasionally, Volvagia will fly around the room shooting flames
from its mouth and flaming rocks will fall from the ceiling. Keep moving to avoid
damage from the flames and from the rocks. When Volvagia is defeated, enter the blue
light to be given the Fire Medallion.

Ice Cavern
Enter the Ice Cavern

Go to Zora's River in the northeast corner of Hyrule Field and walk upriver until you
reach a waterfall. Stand on the gray square grating and play Zelda's Lullaby to
create an opening in the waterfall. Enter the opening to appear in Zora's Domain, the

hallway into the next room, avoiding the falling ice. Follow the right-hand wall to
the second door and enter it by collecting five Silver Rupees. Continue through the
hallway and enter the next room, avoiding the falling ice. Defeat the Freezards,
using Bombs to destroy the Freezard on the pillar. On the second pillar, use an empty
Bottle to collect some Blue Fire. Backtrack through the one-way hallway to the
previous room.

Follow the left wall to the second wall of red ice and use the Blue Fire to melt it.
Enter the new opening, go through the one-way hallway and enter the next room. Push
the large ice block around the room to collect all five Silver Rupees and reach the
new doorway that opens. After entering the new door, go through the hallway to the
red ice and melt it with the Blue Fire.

Continue to the end and enter the ice door in the middle of the far wall (this door
is very hard to see, so move slowly along the wall and keep watching the Action icon
at the top of the screen. When Link is next to the door, the icon will read "Open").
Defeat the White Wolfos and open the big treasure chest for the Iron Boots. Sheik
will appear and teach you a new song, the Serenade of Water.

Get the Zora's Tunic

Collect some Blue Fire from the Ice Cavern and return to the Zora City. Use the Blue
Fire to melt the red ice surrounding the Zora King to get the Zora's Tunic.

Water Temple
Enter the Water Temple

Play the Serenade of Water to warp to Lake Hylia, then go forward and jump off the
ledge to land in the deep water. Swim, and stop above the underwater door. Equip the
Iron Boots to sink down, then use the Hookshot to hit the blue switch above the door.
Go into the door to appear in the dreaded Water Temple.
Water Temple - Small Key Guide

As you explore the Water Temple, you'll require six Small Keys. If you come to a
locked door as you follow my directions to the Boss Key and other items in the
Temple, use this guide to determine which Small Keys you may have missed.

Small Key One - After finding the first Triforce symbol and lowering the water all
the way, drop down the hole in the room. You will land in a room with two unlit
braziers and one burning brazier (this is the same hallway where Ruto was first
seen). Shoot arrows through the flame to light the other braziers, then enter the
door and destroy the three Shell Blade enemies. Open the treasure chest which appears
for a Key.

Small Key Two - From the first Triforce symbol, drop down to the bottom. Go through
the hallway to reappear back in the main room. Follow the left wall to the second
doorway, and walk down the hallway to find a large block. Push the block forward all
the way, drop into the water and equip the Iron Boots. Go through the short hallway
to the end, remove the Iron Boots and get out of the water. Walk forward to the edge
of the platform, hit the shock-switch and use the pillar of water to cross to the
other side.

Enter the door, go into the water and equip the Iron Boots in the far-right corner of
the room to land on a gray vent shaft. Use the Hookshot to hit the shock-switch in
the mouth of the dragon statue to open a gate in the alcove on the right. Use the
Hookshot on the target in the alcove, quickly go to the other end of the alcove, then
remove the Iron Boots and get on land. Open the treasure chest for a Key.

Small Key Three - After raising the water to the middle level, exit the pillar and
equip the Iron Boots. Enter the lowest underwater hallway to the right of the
entrance (the hallway with the two torches if front of it). Walk to the room at the
end of the hallway, then stand in the middle of the room, remove the Iron Boots and
rise to the surface. Bomb the cracked wall, enter the new opening and open the
treasure chest for a Key.

Small Key Four - After raising the water to the middle level, immediately equip the
Iron Boots and drop back to the first level of the tower. Drop into the hole next to
the door and fall down the shaft to the bottom. Follow the passage around to a small
room with a shock-switch. Hit the switch to open the grating above the switch, then
defeat the enemies that fall through to open a second grating. Stand below the second
opening, remove the Iron Boots and float to the surface. Exit the water and open the
treasure chest for a Key.

Small Key Five - In the room where the Longshot is found, play the Song of Time to
remove the blue block and create a hole. Fall into the hole to land next to a river.
Equip the Iron Boots and wade downstream, avoiding the vortex pools. At the end, get
on the last small ledge. Hit the eye switch on the wall with an arrow, then Longshot
to the treasure chest in the new opening. Open the small chest for a Key.

Small Key Six - After getting the Longshot, return to the main room. Follow the left
wall and enter the first hallway (the same hallway where you first see Ruto). Rise to
the surface and play Zelda's Lullaby at The Triforce symbol to lower the water all
the way. Return to the main chamber and enter the center building. Use the Longshot
to reach the next level and play Zelda's Lullaby at the Triforce symbol to raise the
water to the middle level. Exit the room and go left around two corners.

Use the Bow to hit the yellow eye switch to temporarily open a gate to the hallway,
and use the Longshot to grab the target to enter this hallway. Follow the hallway to
a block, and pull it out as far as it can go. Continue to the end of the hallway,
Hookshot to the next level and return to the main room. Drop down to the water, get
on the ledge and go left to return to the yellow eye switch. Enter the hallway again
and continue to the block. Move the block forward to reveal a room and open the chest
for a Key.
Water Temple - Locate the First Triforce Symbol

From the Temple entrance, go forward into the water and swim along the right wall to
a ledge. Equip the Iron Boots to sink down to the bottom and enter the underwater
tunnel, which has two braziers at the entrance. Walk to the end of the hallway to
locate Princess Ruto. After an automatic sequence, follow her up by removing the Iron
Boots in the middle of the room. Go to the surface and get out of the water, then
stand next to The Triforce symbol on the wall and play Zelda's Lullaby to lower the
water all the way.
Water Temple - Locate the Second Triforce Symbol

After locating the first Triforce symbol and lowering the water, drop down to the
bottom. Go through the hallway to reappear back in the main room. Follow the left
wall to the second doorway, push the block forward all the way and enter this area
for a Small Key. Return to the main room and enter the locked door to get inside the
center building. Walk to the far wall, turn around to face the door and look up and
right. Use the Hookshot to pull yourself to the ledge, then stand next to The
Triforce symbol on the wall and play Zelda's Lullaby to raise the water to the second
level.
Water Temple - Locate the Third Triforce Symbol

After raising the water to the second level, exit the center building through the
door on the opposite wall. Facing away from the door, turn right. Go forward into the
water, equip the Iron Boots and enter the tunnel between the two torches. Stop when
you reach the first brazier (the same spot where Ruto was found), remove the Iron
Boots and rise to the surface. Bomb the crack in the wall and enter the new room.

Open the treasure chest for a Small Key, drop into the water, equip the Iron Boots
and exit back out to the main room. Remove the Iron Boots to surface and swim left
along the wall. Enter the first locked door on the left and walk left to a short
water pillar. Get on the water pillar and hit the shock-switch with an arrow. Ride
the water pillar up, enter the next door and stand next to The Triforce symbol on the
wall. Play Zelda's Lullaby to make the water rise to the highest level.
Water Temple - Find Shadow Link

After raising the water to the highest level, drop into the water, swim left along
the wall and enter the locked door. Drop to the moving platform, and when it's at its
lowest point jump to the non-moving platform. Use the Hookshot to grab onto the
moving platforms and work your way to the top. At the top, enter the locked door. Hit
the shock-switch to raise the water, then use the Hookshot on the nearest pillar. Hit
the shock-switch again to lower the water, then walk to the corner and Hookshot to
the next ledge.

Climb over the statue head, walk to the edge and hit the shock-switch again to raise
the water. Once the water raises, Hookshot to the next pillar and hit the
shock-switch again. After the water lowers, stand on the statue head and hit the
shock-switch one last time to be raised up. Enter the alcove, destroy the Like Like,
then Hookshot over the spikes. Enter the door and walk to the other door. Go across
the room to the far door, then turn around to see meet Shadow Link.
Water Temple - Defeat Shadow Link, Get Longshot

Shadow Link copies many of Link's moves, so this is a very challenging battle. Attack
him with the Hammer without Z-Targeting for a very effective attack. Other weapons
you'll find useful include the Spin Attack and Din's Fire. Link will have to defeat
several Shadow Links, so be sure to have a Fairy or two stashed in a Bottle for some
extra energy. When the last Shadow Link is defeated, enter the door and open the big
treasure chest for the Longshot.
Water Temple - Lower the Water

In the room where the Longshot is found, go behind the treasure chest that had the
Longshot and play the Song of Time to remove the blue block and create a hole. Fall
into the hole to land next to a river. Equip the Iron Boots and wade downstream,
avoiding the vortex pools. At the end, get on the last small ledge. Hit the eye
switch on the wall with an arrow, then Longshot to the treasure chest in the new
opening. Open the small chest for a Small Key, then walk to the end of the hall and
drop into the pool. Get on land, go through the door, and use the Longshot to get to
the other side of the room.

Jump in the water and equip the Iron Boots, then go to the end of the underwater
tunnel, remove the Iron Boots and resurface in the main room. Re-equip the Iron
Boots, follow the wall either direction, and enter the door between the two torches.
Follow the hallway to the room at the end, remove the Iron Boots and rise to the
surface. Get on land, stand next to The Triforce symbol on the wall and play Zelda's
Lullaby to lower the water all the way.

After lowering the water again, drop down and go through the hallway to return to the
main room. Follow the right wall, enter the first doorway, and dive down into the
next room. Get on land, use the Longshot to fly across the spikes and enter the
locked door. Go forward to the water, then go left to the middle of the second tile
from the left. Drop into the water and swim across the room, avoiding the boulders
and vortex pools.

Get on land on the other side and enter the door. Drop to the nearest ledge on the
right and Bomb the crack in the wall to create an opening. Swim to the other platform
in the room and bomb the discolored wall to create an second opening and enter it.
Push the large block forward all the way, then exit the hallway and enter from the
other opening. Pull the block out as far as you can and enter the hallway from the
opposite end.

Push the block into the gap and onto the underwater switch to raise the water level,
then swim to the alcove and enter the door. Hit the shock-switch, quickly cross the
gap using the three water pillars and enter the door. Avoiding the rolling rock, go
into the deep water on the right and equip the Iron Boots. Walk to the end of the
underwater hallway, remove the Iron Boots and enter the locked door. Open the big
treasure chest for the Boss Key.

Longshot to reach it. Enter the door, go up the ramp while avoiding the razors, and
enter the door to find the Boss, Morpha.
Water Temple - Defeat Morpha

Z-Target the small colored blob in Morpha and use the Longshot to pull it out of the

damage. Repeat this process until it's destroyed, then enter the blue light to exit
to earn the Water Medallion.

Get the Fire Arrows

After getting the Water Medallion, Link will be standing on The Triforce symbol at
Lake Hylia. From there, turn right and stand in front of the pedestal on the ground,
facing an island out on the lake. When the sun rises, use the Bow to shoot an arrow
at the sun. Repeat until something falls onto the island. Swim to the island and
touch the item to get the Fire Arrows.

Learn the Nocturne of Shadow and Song of Storms

After getting the Fire Arrows, return to Kakariko Village from Hyrule Field and
you'll discover that it's on fire. After an automatic sequence, Sheik will teach Link

Continue to the opposite side of the Market to reach the path towards the castle.
Climb up the vines on the right wall, then climb down the ladder in the stone wall.
Exit the room, walk away from the gate and Bomb the boulder at the end of the path.
Enter the hole to find a Fairy's Fountain. Play Zelda's Lullaby while standing on The
Triforce symbol to call a Fairy who will give Link Din's Fire.

As an adult, play the Nocturne of Shadow to be warped to a ledge above the Graveyard
in Kakariko Village. Enter the opening in the wall to appear in a room with many
