1.1 Introduction

Need for Speed Most Wanted is the sequel to Need for Speed Underground 2, now
some things
have changed so your driving experience will be a little different now. You
have to
deal with cops, Cross and the Blacklist racers, you will have to beat their
milestones
to get a knock at them. The customization is not as great as NFS Underground
2 but the
performance is even better. So enjoy the game and good luck!

1.3 Career Mode

A. Prologue

At the beginning of the game you will start out with your BMW M3 GTR and will
do a race
where it will start you about 60% into the race. You are right next to a
Ford Mustang GT
painted black with your traditional flames on the hood and the sides. At
about 76%
through the race you will hear a call from Mia and you will then be cut off
and sent to
6 days ago, where you will have to race a yellow Toyota Supra in a very short
sprint
for $10,000. Once you complete the race you will be sent to another race
against a
black Mercedes-Benz SLR McLarenand you will do another reasonably short
sprint for $10,000.
The next race is against a guy named Rog and a couple of other racers in
which you will
be doing a 2 lap circuit for another $10,000,once that is done you will race
Razor for
a Pink-Slip (which I will tell you about later.) When you start the race and
get about
78% done and you will get a call about an oil leak back at the start line,
your car stalls and gets taken by Razor. You will get taken to the Police
Department where
you will be let out because you didn't have a car and then your career
starts.

When you go to the car lot and you have a previous save from another game
then you will
get an extra $10,000 to help you with your career. You will have 4 cars to
choose from
so make a wise choice and make sure you get your money's worth. When that is
done, you
and your car will go to the safehouse where you can start racing, beating
milestones and
getting bounty to challenge the blacklist racers. As you progress through
the game
the cops will get more aggressive and the races will get harder and longer,
the cars will
get better.

B. The Blacklist

You will have to face the Blacklist Racers one by one and beat the
milestones,
the bounty and races.

Once you beat Razor you will be in the BMW on a level 6 pursuit. Try
to find your way
toward Highway 99 and stay as close as you can to that blocked off
construction zone
without getting busted. I recommend trying to wreck all cops cars with
pursuit breakers.
You will want to stay in a spot where the cops will not find you. Once the
pursuit time
reaches 5 minutes you will be getting a call form Mia to jump a bridge. The
construction
zone will be open for the time being, you have to get on that road and head
for the bridge.
Go about 170mph and you will make it across, once that is done you have
officially beat
the game.

1.4 Info on Mia, Rog and Cross

Mia:
Mia is the girl in the beginning video of the game talking about safety
and stuff
like that in real life. In career mode she is an undercover cop that sends
you messages
and stuff like that about the cops and some of the blacklist racers. She is
your friend
in the game even though she is working for Cross. Mia gives you info that
only a cop
would know about and does things that only a cop could do.

Rog:
Rog is just your friend, you raced him in the beginning on that
circuit, he had
a red and black car. He has no secrets like Mia does, he gives you info on
the blacklist
and helpful hints on how to complete the game.

Cross:
Cross on the other hand is just an all out bad cop, he is out to tear
you apart
and do whatever it takes to take you down. He is Mia's boss, you will see
him at the
end of the game or in the beginning if you watch the videos in between the
starting races,
he is the one that takes his key and makes a big scratch on the side of your
BMW.
Sometimes he will appear in heat level 5, but he mostly appears in heat level
6 at
the end of the game.

1.5 The Cars and Performance Upgrades

There are 32 different cars to choose from in career mode, all of the cars
and upgrades
will be unlocked once you beat the 3rd blacklist racer. Note that an Engine,

have to unlock
them.

1.6 My Tips, Techniques and Some Info

Here is a few pointers that I learned along the way and am giving you to use
and beat the game with, I hope they help!

A. Bounty

Bounty is the hardest thing to do in this game because the cops get harder as
you
advance through the game. People often get busted because of spike strips or
the cops
just plain suck.
Roadblocks-Watch for the roadblocks, in levels 2 and 3 they are not that bad
because
there are no spike strips to deal with and the cars are lighter. In levels 4
and 5
there are spike strips in the middle of the road on the highway, so
frequently look at
your map but don't lose sight of the things ahead of you. Also when you are
on Highway 99
and it comes down to the one way traffic, the spike strips will be on the
right side of
road, so stay to the left. Sometimes, but rarely they will include a
helicopter or a
tractor trailer in the roadblock to stop you dead in your tracks. Also when
you get
to the point where you go under the bridge, and on the part where the exits
are on
Highway 99 stay to the right because the spike strips are on the left. I
recommend
that you stick to the highway because you get more speed there and you can
always get
off the highway and go through the city.
SUV Units-There are also SUV units that will come at you head on and try to
pin you
so the the cops can box you in. The SUV units come in heat levels 3-5, in
heat level 3
you will get light SUV units which you can get through by going at them, for
safety
purposes use speedbreaker before you hit them. In heat levels 4 and 5 there
will be
heavy SUV units which will come at you head on, the only difference being
that you
want to try to avoid them because there is no getting through them, they are
too heavy.
All of the SUV units come at you and their engine is the heaviest part, so
you should do
your best to avoid them unless ther are almost no cop cars near you.
Cop Cars-The difficulty of the cop cars depend on the heat level that you
have. If
you are only on heat level 1 then the cop cars are easy to kill, but there
are few
of them so you sometimes have to wait up for them. They are the loal cops,
their
techniques are poor and a smash against the wall will kill them or simply
trying to
ram them in the back of a big truck. In heat level 2 the cop cars get a
little heavier,
they bring on roadblocks and they are a tiny bit harder to destroy, but not
much.
They are the undercover local cops whose techniques are a little better, but
they
still stink. There are only 5 more of them than there are in heat level 1.
In heat
level 3 the cops are heavier and they bring on SUV units and better
techniques.
They are known as the state cops amd there techniques involve a little bit
more blocking
and organization, it takes a little bit more to kill the cops on heat level
3.
In heat level 4 the cop cars get a lot heavier, they bring heavier SUV units
and
spike strips to go with their roadblocks. Their techniques are a lot better
and they
have more of an ability to stop you because they are able to box you in and
keep you there.
In heat level 5 the cop cars are a lot heavier and are able to hit you
without taking much
damage. They have a helicopter that comes and tries to take you out and cops
that can box
you in and keep you there for good. You have to be aware of your
surroundings at all times
on this heat level. There is a heat level 6, but I think you get the idea of
what happens
there form my descriptions.
My tips-There is a move called the Pit manuever or the California roll. You
perform
this move by getting next to the cop cars back bumper and spin him out by
putting pressure
on the car therefore spinning him/her out, sometimes if you time it right you
will be
able to take out cops cars behind you. Using Speedbreaker also helps because
it
slows down time so that you can get through cops with a little bit more ease
when
going through a roadblock or an SUV unit. There are also Pursuit Breakers
that
destroy cops instantly once you hit them, use them only when needed. To hit
them go
to the red triangles on your map in the bottom left corner of your
TV screen. Do not stay behind the cops or they will try to box you in and
they will
bust you if you can not get out.

B. Races

There are 5 different types of races in NFS Most Wanted, you have the ones
from NFS
Underground 2 like the Sprint, Circuit and the Drag. There are also 2 new
races and they
are the Tollbooth races and the Lap Knockout races. You will win money for
doing these
races, though drags are worth less because they don't take any more than
about 45 seconds
or so. Here are the descriptions of them:
Circuit Races-A circuit race is just a traditional run around the track for
the alotted
amount of laps to complete the race. The number of laps range from 2-4 per
circuit.
Your goal is to beat the other racers and complete the race therefore giving
you money
for your win.
Sprint Races-A sprint is a race from one end of the track to the other, some
of them are
long and some of them are very short. To know how much you have completed
the race
look at the top right corner of your screen above the position that you are
in.
Drag Races-A drag race is a short race that involves quick reaction and
timing. There
will be some obstacles that you have to avoid such as cars, big trucks and
barriers.
You have to shift using manual whether you like it or not, you want to try to
get
perfect shifts which will appear in a yellow circle. You can get
automatically knocked
out by either blowing your engine or hitting a car or anything to hard, then
you will
have to restart the race. The other races can also get knocked out, if
everyone is
knocked out then take your time and don't rush the race and blow the easiest
chance
you have of winning. The Blacklist racers can also get knocked out so watch
behind
you every so often, and if he/she is indeed knocked out, then take your time.
Lap Knockout-A lap knockout race is just a 3 lap run around the track. If
you are in
last place when you hit the finish line then you will be knocked out and will
have to
restart the race. Your goal is to be the last one that is not knocked out
and win the
race, so make sure you don't come in last place.
Tollbooth Races-A tollbooth race is a race against time, your goal is to get
to the
assigned tollbooth before time runs out. Everytime you get to the tollbooth
before
the time runs out, you get the time you had to spare, added on to the time
that you
have to get to the next tollbooth. This is a single race, it is just you and
the road.
The tollbooth is a guided race so you don't have to go try and find it, you
just
race to it. There can be multiple tollbooths that you have to hit, ther can
be
anywhere from 3-12 tollbooths you have to hit in a race.
My tips-Watch for the Donut or Tire pursuit breaker because if the racers are
far enough
behind you can hit the pursuit breakers and possibly stop the racers and buy
you some
time to pull away. You won't see these 2 pursuit breakers in every race,
they don't
appear that often so be aware of where you are. There also could be some
other
pursuit breakers out there so watch for them all and hit them if you think it
will
help you. Also take shortcuts that will give you an advantage in the race,
pretty
much what I'm saying is do whatever it takes to win the races.

1.7 The Challenge Series

The Challenge Series is a series of events that you don't have to beat but
can if
you want to. They range from pursuit milestones you can beat to tollbooth

cars to complete
the mission. The vehicles can range from your cars to any pedestrian car you

1.9 Unlockables

There are Bonus Cars that can be unlocked when you progress through the game.
You can unlock all of the Blacklist Cars and then there are a few other cars
that can be
unlocked by doing certain tasks in the game. There are 18 Bonus Cars total,
they range
from the blacklist cars to the cars you don't see in the game. You find them
by going
to the Quick race menu, choosing custom race picking a race, and a couple of
other things
and then you will finally reach the part where you can pick your car. You
have the
Your Career Cars, Stock Cars from Career Mode and the Bonus Cars which is
where you
can see what cars you have unlocked and need to be unlocked, by doing what it
says to
unlock them and you do that then you will have unlocked that car.
