  - But because (at the time) the main purpose was to recruit a particular monster
    for Morrie, being in Trodain was not mentioned.

  - The path shown by ** was the one you took through the Dreary Waste.

~ SNAP CASE a.k.a. MAN-EATER CHEST ($19 on map):

  + If you don't yet have SNAP CASE yet, here are the directions:

  + ZOOM to Trodain.
    - You arrive on the brick walk to the castle gate.
    - Turn around and go through the arch.

  + Turn right (as if you were returning to West Trodain Church) and go along the
    brown road until you are nearly to its end.
    - Turn right again and go past the tree and down a slope with tall grass.
    - Look to the North West and you will see the Notorious Monster, SNAP CASE.

  + HP = 260 approximately. 
    + It gives:
       EXP = 262
        G. =  49
       Drops a Copper Monster Coin.

  + When it rises up, recruit it for your Monster Team.

  NOTE: there are two T.Chests: one close to The Notorious Monster, the other
        approximately south East of it.
        - One is a Cannibox (hope you get an Iron Nail).
        - The other contains 630 G.

~ The best team for RANK G Battles:

  + If you haven't done RANK G, do it NOW!

  + However, this Team IS ready to do the RANK F Battle.
    - They just won't do quite as well as they did in the RANK G Battle.

    - You'll need to get a different monster in place of SMAP CASE for the
      RANK E Battles.

  + This team is also good for the Rank F Battle.
    - Particularly if you allow Hero to build at least one or two EXP levels
      before trying.
    - But it IS good enough though it won't do quite as well.

  + Improve Hero's Stats and all three Monster's stats will also improve.
    - Good place: Swordsman's Labyrinth (There's lots of Goodybags which give
      a lot of gold).

    - I've never tried it but it's on the Choice list once you have battled the
      S RANK.

    * However, you DEFINITELY NEED that one on your team!

   + ZOOM to Trodain (saves a walk and gets you right where you need to be).
     - Turn around and go out of the arch.
     - Turn LEFT (dodge Smiles!) and go along the road.
       > Go down the slope and turn Left.
       > The road leads to the bridge Yangus destroyed.
     - On the right side of the road (same side as two horses) just before the
       bridge is MOPPET.
       > It looks like the Puppeteer.
       > If it tells a story, the ally who is affected can't stop laughing for
         two turns.
     - It gives:
         EXP = 116
          G. = 31,
       Drops a Copper Monster Coin.

   + RECOMMEND:
     - Not really worth adding to your Monster Arena Team.

  + This one requires a pretty long walk, but you'll be able to ZOOM back.
    - You should have time to make a better whip for Jessica.
   AND...
    - You should already have the ingredients for the SNAKESKIN WHIP.

        > It will take about 585 total damage to defeat it (depending on
          Hero's stats).
        > Gives EXP = 374
                 G. = 53
        > Drops a Silver Monster Coin.

    - Defeat and recruit it.


~ Best place to rest and recover is RIVERSIDE CHAPEL.
  + Costs only 10 G.

  + SAVE!!

  + Go up the left side of the circular steps.
    - The map is in the T.Chest on the balcony in front of the castle main door.

    - Of six I met in the castle, I was able to beat two.
      * These usually run away.
    - If the critter hits in the first round of battle, you can usually get it.
      * Best strategy:
        > Hero should equip his sword and use METAL SLASH.
          = It almost always gets at least one 1-Point hit.
        > Yangus should equip his Axe and use HATCHET MAN.
          = IF this strike works, it defeats the monster immediately.
        > Jessica should use her whip and TWIN DRAGON SLASH.
          = Usually gets at least one 1-Point hit.
        > Angelo should use his Rapier and METAL SLASH.
          = Often gets a 2-Point hit.

  + WAILING WEED:
    - If he sings, he may make one or more of the party dance uncontrollably.
      * But he may also become intoxicated with his own voice to lose a turn.
      * He may sing a cursed song (curse may affect one or more of the allies
        EXCEPT Hero).

  + INFERNAL ARMOUR:
    - Sometimes puts the tip of its sword into the ground causing a severe
      lightning attack (affect the whole party).
      * Occasionally, the lightning strike causes paralysis.

  + DRAGONTHORN.
    - Sometimes twines its tail around an ally and "ensnares with thorny vines.
      * If they aren't able to dodge, they are unable to move for at least one
        turn.

   1. Get the castle Map.
      + Go past the fountain and take the left-hand circular stairs to the
        main entrance (which is on the second floor).

      + On the balcony is a T.Chest with the map.
        - Pick up the map and go back down to the garden.

   2. Go to the east side of the circular stairs (the wing with the Barracks).
      + Break the Barrels and Jars. (Mini-Medal and 46 G.)
      + Check out the barracks.
        - You may want to talk to the plant people.

   3. Go through the double doors (DD).
      + You'll find that the door to the anteroom for the Throne Room is locked.
        - To open this door, you may need the Ultimate Key.

   4. Return to the Barracks area and go up to the second floor.

   1. Check out the Treasury behind the barred door.
      + You'll need the Ultimate Key to get into the Treasury.

      + Head to the central portion of the Castle.
        - Head down the corridor and take the first door on your left.
        - You are now in the central section of the castle.
        - If you look over the edge of the balcony, you'll be looking down into
          the Throne Room.

   2. Head through the double doors (DD).
      + Check out the room (door is opposite the double doors).

      + The central door (DD) on the balcony leads to the outside balcony where
        you picked up the Castle Map.

   3. Continue around to the second door on the (inside) balcony.
      + To your right is a sectioned off area (store?).
        - The storekeeper has been turned into a plant.

      + The door on the left leads to two Treasure Chests and several Jars and
        Barrels.
        - Get the Magic Key; a Mini-Medal; Magic Beast Hide.

      + Go back into the main room.
        - Explore through the other door (further on the left).
        - It leads to a terrace above the library.

   3. Go East and keep the taller cliff to your left.

      - You'll need to head along a small cliff below you until you can get to
        the end.

      + The furthest door leads into Princess Medea's suite.
        - Read the book in the first room.
        - Collect the GARTER in one of the cabinets in the back room.

          * As soon as you can, make this Bow for Angelo.

   2. The middle (double doors) lead to the room where the stolen Sceptre was
      located.
      + If you go up there, you'll get a brief VIDEO where Trode comments that
        the "Magic Circle":
        - The "Ancients" drew the Magic Circle.
        - Which was supposed to protect the world from the power of the Sceptre.
        - But it only helped to protect their descendants.

   3. The other door leads to the sleeping room for maids.

      + Talk to the plant person (marked by the +) to get a brief VIDEO of who
        she is.

   4. Go through the door beside her into the North Corridor.

      + Check out the room opposite and read the book to get more information
        about Hero.

   5. Go to the west end of the North Corridor and through the door.

      + The barrels contain a Mini-Medal & a Magic Beast Hide.

   6. Go through the South door on to the Terrace.

      + There's a guard and a maid on the terrace.

      + Take the door into the tower.
        - And go down to the first floor again.

      > He says all he needs to do is revive the memory of the ancient ocean.

    - Ishmahri begins to play his harp.
      > Hero closes his eyes to listen but opens them when suddenly there is
        discord as two of the harp strings break.

    - Ishmahri says that this harp is not powerful enough.

+ Ishmahri notes that there is a faint aura around Hero.
  + He then says that there is another harp in the world.
    - Hero must find the Moonshadow Harp.
    - A friend who owes him a debt will help him.

    - He'll be pleased to give it to Hero.
    - He escorts them to the fountain in the entry of the castle.

  + He drops a broach into the water and it lands on a circle in the center of
    the fountain.
    - The water drains away.

  + The king stands in the fountain and tells them to come with him.

  + When you enter the vault:
    - All treasure chests are open and empty.
    - There is a large hole in the wall beyond.

  + The king is angry because the Moonshadow Harp has been stolen.
    - He tells Hero and his friends that it is too dangerous for them to go
      after the thieves.

  + He says: I will summon the castle guard. They'll get the harp back. You mark
             my words."

  + The king runs out leaving you in the vault!

  + Talk to the BOSS.
    - He wants to know if you "Wanna hear my funky tune?"

    - If you say YES, you'll see Hero and one of the moles stopping their ears
      as the awful music plays!

    - If you say NO, he accuses you of coming to steal his harp!

+ BATTLE THE BOSS DON MOLE FOR THE HARP +

~ BOSS FIGHT:

  + DON MOLE & FOUR SOUL MOLES.

    - Each Soul Mole has 266 HP.

    - Don Mole has 1280 HP.

    - If you defeat all four of the Soul Moles, Don Mole may call forth another.

  + When Don Mole plays it causes confusion in most of our party AND his allies.

    - If an ally is confused, he/she remains so until hit.
    - If Hero has TINGLE (Courage = 16), he can cast it to restore confused
      allies to normal.


~ When DON MOLE is defeated, the four Soul Moles talk to Hero in Mole talk.

  + Fortunately the game translates the talk into English.

    - Three of the moles lift their Boss and hurry off with him.

    - The Fourth tells them:
     * Not to make a mountain out of a molehill.
     * Don Mole steals a thing or two and his music is the pits, but apart from
       that he's a great Boss.

  + The this mole picks up the harp and gives it to them on condition they let
    Don Mole off this time...


~ Then you see them hauling the Boss away.

  + Make your way up to the first LEVEL to the circular platform.
    - Talk to moles on your way up.

  + You'll find Don Mole lying on the platform being cared for.
    - You can talk to him and the moles around him.

~ Cast EVAC to exit the dungeon.

      * The guard standing behind the King says he's too nice and meetings

    - If you talk to the guard beside the fountain, he says he's disgusted with
      the guards!

  + Sleep at the Inn until evening.
    - You need to return to Trodain after sunset.

  + When he sees Hero, he knows they have the Moonshadow Harp.

  + When Ishmahri asks for the harp, it leaves Hero's hands and floats to Ishmahri.


~ When Ishmahri says "Let us go to the ship."

  + They all stand gazing at it.

  + Ishmahri draws back toward the ship and begins to play.
    - When Trode start to question him, Yangus grabs him and puts his hand over
      Trode's mouth.

  + Ishmahri says the Ship, The Moonshadow Harp and himself are all from the old
    world.
    - He thanks Hero for reuniting them.
      * He begins to play and you see him facing the ship and the Moon is
       shining from just above the ships mast.

      * Water pools around him, but nothing more happens.

    - Ishmahri says: "NO! Can it really be beyond even the Moonshadow Harp?

  + You then see Medea rearing and stamping her hooves.
    - Remember the book in the Library that praised her singing voice?

+ BRINGING BACK THE ANCIENT OCEAN +

  realizes she is truly a noble princess.

  + He also realizes that Magic begins with a word. Music begins with a voice.
    - He asks Medea to sing with him (remember his magic brings back memories
      of the past and gives temporary life to them).

  + He plays and now the water gushes up around him.
    - You see ghostly fish swimming past Yangus in the water.

    - The Ship begins to float and so do Angelo and Hero.

    - From Ishmahri's hand something glowing flows out and make step up to the
      ship.
      * You see Yangus, Jessica, the horse and wagon going up the steps.

    - Angelo swims past and beckons to Hero and they both swim to the steps and
      climb up.
      * The steps dissolve behind them.

  + Ishmahri vanishes after saying he'll bless their journey on the ancient ocean.


~ Comments from Hero's party:

  + Yangus: Love a duck! Stone the crows! Blimey O'Reilly! Wot the 'ell happened
            back there?

  + Trode, after hitting Yangus on the back of his head: Stop your ridiculous
    blithering!

  + Yangus: ...at least we got the boat up and running, eh, Guv!? Nice!

  + Jessica brings them back to the present saying they still need to go after
    Dhoulmagus.

  + Angelo says they should head for the West and catch up with him.


~ The ship is still on the surface of the ancient ocean.
  + You watch as the sparkling waters flow slowly away to gently let the ship
    splash down on the present time's ocean.

~ While the ship allows you to access many new places, you still cannot get
  to quite a few of the regions.
  + Some of the cliffs are too high.
    - And that's intentional so you don't go to those places too soon.


~ The ship shows on the World Map as a blue boat.
  + If there is a place for you to land: when the ship touches any part of the
    land, you'll be asked if you want to disembark.

  + You can still use Zoom to go to anyplace you've already been.
    - The ship will follow and will be located at the closest docking point along
      the coastline to the town/place you have gone to.
    - In a couple of places, that will mean you'll have to walk to get to the ship.

~ When you land at a new continent, you'll still have to walk to the various
  new places.
  + For example, the best place to start out on the Western Continent is SEAVIEW
    CHURCH, which is in Baccarat Region.
    - The ship can dock very close to the Church.
    - But you'll have to walk to get to Baccarat itself.

        > You don't get charged for depositing money and can take it out

        > You can ZOOM to a town with a bank, if you need the money.
        > The usual reason for depositing money:
          = If your whole party is defeated, you can CONTINUE (so you don't lose
            all the actions you've completed).
          BUT...
          = You lose half of any G., you have.
        > If most of the money is in the bank that won't matter.

    and Farebury Regions.

  + Continue along the channel until you reach the Bridge between Farebury and
    Alexandria Regions.

  + Hidden under the Bridge is Pirates Cove.
    - Swing the ship toward the cave mouth so you can enter.
    - When the screen clears, you are on a boardwalk.

  + On the left, ahead of you is a door (the door on the right will need the
    ULTIMATE KEY.
    - Go into it.
      * You'll find two empty treasure chests.
      * You'll also find some Jars and Barrels.
        - Break them to find a Mini Medal (#36)

  + Sailing there takes a bit of time, but you'll save time in the long run.


~ If you head exactly West, there comes a point when you see a dark mountain ahead.

  + Steer to the right of that and go along the channel.
    - The cliffs on either side will get, closer then you'll pass under a massive
      rock bridge with what looks like houses on top.

  + Keep going.
    - The channel will widen, so keep close to the cliffs on the LEFT.
    - When green appears on that side, continue until you see a headland with a
      building on it.
    - Steer toward the building and touch the land there.

  + Disembark.
    - The building is the SEAVIEW CHURCH.

    - Go to the back of the building and get a T.Chest with TOUGH GUY TATTOO.
      * This is an accessory that improves attack (all allies can equip it).
      * It is also an ingredient to make some useful items.


~ Explore the building's three rooms and the tower (up a ladder).
  + You will find another Mini Medal.

  + You'll also find someone else who has seen a Jester running across the sea.
    - Trode's reaction to the information startles Yangus!

  + The woman in red and purple will tell you how many Skill Points you need to
    get to the next skill level for all skills for all in the party.

  + The num sitting, does not charge for a night's stay.

  + The burly man at the table in the second room gives directions for getting
    to Baccarat.

  + He also tells you the Casino in Baccarat has been shut down.


   NOTE: You'll meet more slimes in this area.
         * Although they look the same, it takes a little more effort to defeat

  + Stay fairly close to the coast and keep going until you pass an area of lower
    coastline followed by tall cliffs.
    - Although you cannot see it, you are now passing the DESERT.
    - Follow the cliffs until they turn eastward.
    - Ahead of you, out in the ocean you should be able to see an island.

  + Steer for the island and when you get there, press [SQUARE] to get the World
    Map.
    - This is UNCHARTED ISLAND so it isn't on your map!!!

    - You'll probably meet a lot of Canniboxes and quite a few mimics.
    - You'll only meet a few Liquid Metal Slimes.
      * Strategy:
        > Have Hero and Angelo use their swords and METAL SLASH (Hero's Sword = 30
          & Angelo's Sword = 22).
        > Have Yangus use HATCHET MAN (Axe = 19) which doesn't always work, but
          if it does, it completely defeats ANY monster.
        > Have Jessica use TWIN DRAGON SLASH (Whips = 23).

  + Go up the slope as far as you can, then head west as far as you can.
    - The T.Chest is actually a mimic, but it gives 128 EXP so is worth fighting.

  + Go back to the top of the slope, the head East to the highest point of the
    Island.


~ Notorious Monster $23: LOOPY LUPUS a.k.a. BLADEWOLF.

  + This is a wolf-like critter with iron claws attached to its forepaws.

    HP = 515 approximately.

    - They often call for backup of another Magic Dumbell.

  + ROBO-ROBIN:
    - If desperate (i.e., HP is low) may destroy itself to take out as much
      damage against the allies as possible.

  + PUPPET MASTER:
    - Chimaera Puppet breathes FIRE against all.
    - May put the party to sleep to miss two turns.
    - May tell a Funny Story (anyone affected can't stop laughing for several
      turns).
    - May tell a Love Story (anyone affected is entranced for at least two turns).
      * Note: Yangus usually doubles over laughing at this story!

  + JAB, BER, KEE, WOC:
    - BER defends by pulling its head, arms and feet inside its body.
    - JAB restores life.
    - KEE & WOK fight.
    - The four critters, under the direction of JAB unite to form:

      * The JABBERWOKEE.
        > The four on their own have a total of 315 HP (vs. 645) so are easier to
          defeat.
        > On the other hand, the four only give a total of 274 EXP (vs. 318).
        > When combined, KEE & WOK combine to hit; if its a critical hit, LOOK OUT.

      * The distance is measured in miles and tenths of miles.
      * It is loW compared with what you might expect.
        > Mine was 135.7 and I had travelled in the ship all the way round the
          Eastern Continent.
        > This suggests that the World in the game is smaller than you might think.

    - Other data:
      * The number of Battles Fought.
      * The number of Monsters Defeated.
      * The number of Monsters Intimidated.
      * The number of Victories.
        > In my statistics, the number of Battles was 6 more than the number of
          Victories.
        > At first I was puzzled as I hadn't lost any battles.
        > The I remembered I had fought Monster Arena Battles in RANK G & Rank F
          (totalled 6 Battles).
        > So the monster Arena battles are included in the number of Battles fought
          but NOT in the victories (even though my Team won all 6 battles).
        > I guess, it is only the Battles which Hero fights included in the
          Victories total?!?!
      * The number of Times Fled.
      * The number of Times Wiped Out.
      * Max Damage in any turn (of a battle): The total damage, and the monster.
      * Total of Gold obtained.

      * You are shown a map of the world divided by region.
      * At this point, you have only visited two of the continents.
      * In each region are two (or more) colored circles.
        > Red indicates the region itself.
        > Blue indicates a dungeon.
      * Selecting any of the circles let's you access a list of monsters for that
        region.
        > If there are ???? in one of the slots, that indicates that you haven't
          defeated that monster.
          = For example, In my Trodain List, although I had met a Liquid Metal
            Slime, it always fled so ???? was in its field in my list.
          = So I went back to Trodain and succeeded in defeating it and the critter
            now appeared on the list.
      * NOTE: If you defeat a monster in one region, it will be listed in every
              region/habitat that that monster appears in.

      * NOTE ALSO: The "Ocean" is a red dot in the bottom Left corner of the Map.

      * The difference between the Habitat Map and the World Map:
        > The colors in the World Map are reversed:
          Red  = Dungeons.
          Blue = Towns.

    - View by family.
      * The monster are listed by the family they belong to.
        > There is an icon beside their name.
        > This helps in putting your Monster Team together as, if you use critters
          from the same family in Monster Arena Battles, you access a Deathmove!

  + Whichever list you access, you can press [X] on any critter in the list to
    find out:
    - How much EXP and Gold they give.
    - How many of that monster you have defeated.
    - What items they have dropped.
      * ???? means they have not dropped anything so far.
      * There may be one line or two, depending on whether they have dropped
        either a commonly dropped and/or a rarely dropped item.

    - For example, in Trodain's Library, one recipe is:
       "Healthy Cheese" = Plain Cheese + "a healing item"
      * Both "Healthy Cheese" and "a healing item" were colored green.
    - The only way to discover the proper name for "Healthy Cheese" is to make
      it in the Alchemy Pot.
    - The only way (since you don't know the proper name for the cheese) to find
      out the ingredient "a healing item" is by experimenting.
      * Possible healing items:
         Medicinal Herb
         Strong Medicine
         Strong Antidote 
         Amor Seco Essence
    - I tried several times to make this cheese.
      * Each try, I placed one of the items listed above + Plain Cheese.
      * For the first three on the list, the Alchemy Pot popped its lid and
        returned the items to the Item Bag.
      * But when I put the Amor Seco Essence + Plain Cheese, the recipe worked.
    - The "Mild Cheese" was made.
      * In the recipe, "Healthy Cheese" was replaced with "Mild Cheese" (in black).
      AND...
      * "a healing item" was replaced with "Amor Seco Essence" (in black).

  + The Library warned that not all recipes are worth using.
    - Another recipe in the Library was:
      * "A Blunt Axe" = Iron Axe + Gold Nugget.

    - You might think this was one of the recipes you were warned about.
    HOWEVER...
    - The Blunt Axe is really the GOLDEN AXE.
      * It sells for 5,000 G (same amount the Gold Nugget sells for.
    - The GOLDEN AXE can be used in the Alchemy Pot to make:
      * The MOON AXE ... One is in a T.Chest in Argonia; sells for 11,000 G.
      OR...
      * The KING AXE ... You can buy one in Orkutsk & Tryan Gully for 17,000 G.
                         bUT IT SELLS FOR ONLY 8,500 G.
    - So it can be productive to make the Blunt Axe!!!

  + COCKATEER:
    - May scream, shocking one or more allies for at least one turn.

  + GREAT SABRECAT:
    - Looms in your face then does a double scratch.

  + PUPPET PLAYER:
    - May tell a funny story causing one or more allies to double up with laughter
      for at least two turns.

  + SPITNIK:
    - A great sun that has a tailed "sputnik" flying in orbit.
    - May spew flames at all.
    - Swallows the sputnik and spits it at one ally.

  + ORC:
    - May thrust its spear several times making up to four hits (one or more
      allies).

  + TREEVIL:
    - May use a Yggdrasil Leaf to bring one of its mates back to life.

  + BATTLE BEETLE:
    - If it knocks an ally down, they lose at least one turn.

  + JUMPING JACKALS:
    - Has metal spikes on its front paws.
      * If it claps these claws together, it send a WIND SICKLE at one ally.
      * May spin hitting with the claws for more damage.

  + BOMB BOULDER may psyche up.

~ Start down the road FROM SEAVIEW CHURCH, stopping to get Fresh Milk from the cow.

  + The cow seems rather playful!!!

  + You may notice a T.Chest south of the Cow, on the other side of the river.
    - That's one of the goals in this section of the FAQ.

~ As you follow the road, you come to a bridge guarded by a Notorious Monster:

  + $33: FOUL FOWL a.k.a. RAGING ROOSTER.

    - It may scream which could shock one or more of the allies (miss one or two
      turns).

      HP = 390 approximately
      Gives EXP = 181
             G. = 33
      Drops a Copper Coin.

  + Decide if you want to add him to your reserves...

~ Continue on the road until you see the town of Baccarat.
  + You have to go around a pond.

  + REMEMBER YOU ARE ON A TIMED SCHEDULE.

  + TO GET BACCARAT ON THE ZOOM MENU...
    - The entrance to the town shows as steps.
    - You DON'T have to go right into town.
      > When you enter, Hero just goes up the steps partway.
    - As soon as he stops, turn around and go out again.


~ Go back to the road and continue along it.

  + When you're on the other side of the pond, check the world map.

  + If you go uphill, cross the road between Baccarat and Chateau Felix.
    - Take the side-road to enter Chateau Felix.
      * You'll find a lot of cats both outside and inside the Chateau's grounds.
      * The Chateau is in the form of a giant Sabrecat, claws and all.
        > The door is between its forepaws.

    - You need to talk to Felix, but Tom won't let you in until you have answered
      three questions.
      * The answers are multiple choice with three possible answers.

    - To get past Tom, choose the second answer to each of the three questions.

+ FELIX AND HIS PROBLEM +

~ When you go inside the Chateau, you pass between two cages with a Sabrecat in
  each one.

  + Felix is at his desk and just above his head is the head of a sabrecat (he
    seems to be cat-mad).
    - At first he is busy (be patient).

  + Talk to him and in a round-about way he'll tell you he has a friend BAUMREN
    who is lost and needs help.
    - Felix's responsibilities prevent him from helping his friends.

    - Accept the assignment.

  + He says the Baumren can be found close by a strange tree.
    - Ignore the four Sabrecat statues (you don't have the time to examine them).
      * And you don't need to either.

  + He gives you a bottle containing the SAND OF ETERNITY which you are to use
    to help Baumren.

  THE TREE IS ONLY VISIBLE FOR A SHORT TIME AT DAWN...

      YOU NEED FASTER TRANSPORT THAN JUST WALKING TO MAKE IT IN TIME...

~ When you have finished talking to the Felix, go back outside the building.

  + You'll find Tom standing beside a sabrecat.

  + Talk to him and he'll allow you to ride it.

~ You CAN use the following keys:

  + [SQUARE] = the World Map.

  + [CIRCLE] = The Main Menu.

~ You'll still have Battles and that's okay.
  + That's allowed for in the time you have.

+  FIRST: GET THE NOTORIOUS MONSTER ($34) +

~ When you exit Chateau Felix, take the Road (between Baccarat & Chateau Felix)
  to the left.

  + Follow around the Chateau and you come to a bridge.
    - Its a "double bridge": Take the one on the LEFT,
    - The road will pass alongside a large pond.
    - Head North around this pond.
    - You'll pass a Cow (ignore it for now).

  + You'll come to a second bridge.
    - cross it and (the path is winding) go more-or-less North.

  + You'll pass a third bridge (to the right) but DON'T cross it, just continue
    North as close to the river as possible.

~ KEEP CHECKING THE WORLD MAP.
  + YOU'RE HEADING FOR THE POINT OF LAND JUST TO THE SOUTH OF SEAVIEW CHURCH.


~ When the area widens out, you should be able to see the Seaview Church building
  across the river.

  + About now, it will become night.
    - In the dark you're more likely to meet:
       Jumping Jackal
       Battle Beetle
       Puppet Player
       Treevil

  + The T.Chest contains 800 G.

~ This is $34: ORCUS a.k.a. WILD SPEARMAN.
  + It is a blue orc.

       HP = 360 approximately
       Gives EXP = 151
              G. = 40
       Drops a Copper Monster Coin.

  + IT IS WORTH WHILE RECRUITING THIS ONE.

+  SECOND: RESCUE BAUMREN +

~ As soon as you have defeated ORCUS, head back the way you came.

  + You'll pas the bridge (its on the left now).
    - Keep going South until you get to the next bridge.

    - Don't cross.
                                                                  --
    - Turn right and go down into the hollow at the place marked '--' on the
      map above.

  + By the time you get here, it should be close to dawn and the tree will appear.

    - You'll see a ghostly blue sabrecat.

      NOTE 1: If it isn't quite dawn, circle INSIDE THE HOLLOW until Baumren
              appears.
      NOTE 2: If it is past dawn, go back to Baccarat and sleep (until evening) at
              the Inn (it's inside the door opposite the entrance to the town).
              - You can go back to Chateau Felix and get another Sabrecat to ride.
              - Then return to the hollow and circle INSIDE THE HOLLOW until the
                Tree and Baumren appear (fight battles as needed).
      

  + Talk to BAUMREN and "use" the SAND OF ETERNITY.

    - Baumren realizes that he needs to move on (he has been circling the tree,
      lost to the fact that he had died).

    - He moves up a path of blue light that formed from the Sand of Eternity
      and disappears.

~ Zoom back to Chateau Felix and talk to Felix again.
  + He tells you the strange Tree is the TREE OF STYX.
    - "Innings" comes from the British game called Cricket and refers to the when
       one team has the bat and score.
    - When "your innings are over" the game is done.

  + Baumren was the first Sabrecat to "open his heart" to Felix.
    - He makes Hero a member of the Great Sabrecat Trust.
    - He gives him a bell and calls it BAUMREN'S BELL.

  + Use the Bell when you want to summon a Sabrecat to ride.

    - Its HP = about 270.

    - It gives: 
         EXP = 128
          G. =  22
         Copper Monster Coin
