Menu Screen Here you can check on your items list, Key Items list, and the status of the characters currently in your party. Press the Square button to bring up the: 2. Chat Commands There are two menus to choose from, just hit left or right to switch menus. --Strategy Menu --You can choose to have: --Everyone Gather! to call everyone to wherever Kite is located. --Let's Scatter! to have everyone go off on their own. --Members Menu --Just pick the name of the character that you want to: --Change Equipment-Here you can change the Armor and Weapon of your other characters. --In Battles-- For Kite: -To execute a basic attack make sure an enemy is in range and hit the X Button. -To use Skills, press the Triangle Button and choose Skills. Choose whichever skill you want for Kite to execute it. --Chat Commands-- Note: There are three separate menus for the Chat commands, push left or right to access the different ones. Press the Square button to tell your characters what to do in battle. 1. Battle Strategy Menu Skills!-Your characters will use their skills as long as they have the SP to execute them. First Aid!-Your characters will heal as long as someone needs to be healed. Stregthen!-Your characters will use spells or scrolls that will benefit your characters attributes. Weaken!-Your characters will use spells or scrolls that will weaken the enemies. Don't use Skills!-Your characters will not use any skills or items, they will attack regularly. Attack!-Your characters will use only Attack skills, no magic. (Wavemasters of course will not.) Magic!-Your characters will use only Magic skills. (This doesn't always work perfectly, characters like BlackRose will use Magic once and then go in to attack, so issue it again if you want them to be consistant.) 2. Member Menu Commands Pick the characters name that you want to tell what to do and then you have a menu, you can choose to: Designate Skill-Tell your character to use a specific spell or attack and what target you want them to use it on. First Aid-Tell one of your characters to heal the party only. Change Equipment-Tell your character to change their weapon or armor (Obviously you can't change their Weapon and Armor when they are using them, so wait until they are done.) Assemble-Your characters will fight in formation, and attack any nearby enemies. Designate Target-Tell your characters what monster to attack. Standby-Tell your characters to stop attacking and heal themselves. 3. Type of Battle You can choose whichever battle method you want, this is the command that Kite gives at the beginning of each battle. You can switch this whenever you want. -Operation Wonder Battle: Your characters will just go to the closest enemy and start attacking. -Operation Union Battle: Your characters will attack whatever enemy Kite is attacking. -Operation Follow Me: Your characters will follow Kite, and attack any nearby enemies. -Operation Recover: Your characters will Standby and recover themselves. --Battle Tips-- -If you are going to use a Wavemaster, you always have to tell them what to do they won't just attack enemies by themselves. So issue the Skills! or Magic! commands to get them to attack. If you want them to heal, pick their name and choose First Aid! -Always bring along a good supply of Antidotes and Restoratives. Also give a good supply to your fellow teammates. -When on the field or in the dungeon, try Data Draining a few times. You need to collect Virus Cores so you can do some Gate Hacking. Hopefully if you do a little each time, when the game calls for you to Hack the gates, you won't have to go on a Virus Core hunt. Also even if you get items instead of Virus Cores, you can just sell the extra items for cash. So nothing is ever a waste of time. Also by the time you get to Quarantine you will be glad you did some extra Data Draining, trust me on this! --When in dungeons, use a Speed Charm on Kite. This will get you through the dungeon faster, also it can be helpful in battle for those Pesky monsters that can run fast. --Check your Ryu Book IV to find out what monsters you have fought. Also you can find out what type of items you can Data Drain them for, and also what type of Virus Core. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [H003] Section 3 - Gameplay Tips==-------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --Always be on the lookout for good trades. Check your Ryu Book III, it shows what characters you have met, what items they have to trade, and whether or not they are online. --Check your friends affection levels in Ryu Book 5. The max level for affection in .hack//Mutation is 500. --When in dungeons always break boxes, barrels, bones, and eggs to obtain good items. If you can find a room that has 10-12 items to break, enter and reenter several times to stock up on items like Health Drinks, Healing Potions, Recovery Drinks, antidotes, restoratives, elemental items (relating to the element of the field you are in). --Data Drain for Virus Cores, you need to do this to get Virus Cores to hack the gates, however do it in moderation, if Kite's picture in the skills section is turning Green to Orange, stop and kill monsters normally until he is a nice shade of blue. --Periodically check all of your Ryu Books to see if you have met the criteria, to get new wallpapers, music, and movies. --Buy a good supply of Fairy Orbs, and Fortune Wires. Fairy orbs are very helpful in dungeons, and Fortune Wires are good for getting the better treasures. --In the Lambda server's Magic Shop you can buy The Hanged Man, and The Moon scrolls. Stock up on these items the best you can. They will be very helpful with fighting certain enemies. Note: These items cannot be bought in Outbreak for some reason, so stock up now! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [H004] Section 4 - The Walkthrough==----------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Please Note: In dungeons I will sometimes give directions. The directions are always for the quickest way to the exit. And the direction given is always according to your map in the right hand corner of the screen. Also this Walkthrough is written as if you had converted your Data flag from Infection, because that is how I play it. ---------------- In the Beginning ---------------- After the opening sequence you will be on your desktop, you will have new email and news. Check your email you will see one from BlackRose, reply to it with "I hope so." for a +20 to affection. You will also have received two emails from CC Corp regarding the Flag Race. You can now race the grunties that you raise in flag races, provided that you have raised all types for the particular server. **You may also receive another email from the third party member you took to fight Skeith asking if you are okay, I received one from Gardenia and I answered "I'm okay" and it raised her affection +20.** Do anything else you want to on the desktop, save if you like, then pick The World. Check the postings on the boards. Then go ahead and Log In to The World. ------------------------- Highland City-Dun Loireag ------------------------- You will start out on the Theta Server. You will meet up with BlackRose, who will tell you that they need to go back to Theta: Chosen Hopeless Nothingness. So lets get ready to go back to the dungeon where we fought Skeith. --Go ahead and do some trading to upgrade armor and weapons for Kite and BlackRose, everybody should have new stuff to trade. --When trading look out for the TwinBlade weapon called Yosetsu & Fouyu, this is not the greatest TwinBlade weapon, but it does have a water spell that Kite can use. Consider bringing this along since Kite has no Water TwinBlade Skills. --Put BlackRose into your party, and when you are ready go to the Chaos Gate and head for Chosen Hopeless Nothingness. --If you raised an Iron Grunty in Infection, he should have another Aromatic Grass to trade. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Theta Chosen Hopeless Nothingness-Area where you defeated Skeith. Lvl. 28 Element: Earth ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Elemental item: Well Water Grunty Food: Immature Egg X 7, Golden Egg X 1 Enemies & Virus Core: Cursed Blades -DD for Sleipner, Million $ Spear, Virus Core A Metal Goblin -DD for Anshou, Jinsaran, Virus Core A Mantis -DD for Giant Hill, Electric Guard, Virus Core B You can clear the field if you want to but it isn't necessary. In the dungeon there are no enemies to fight so go ahead and use a fairy's orb to find the quickest way to the exit. You will see a series of scenes and then you will leave the dungeon and go back to town. ------------------------- Highland City-Dun Loireag ------------------------- You will then see a scene where Kite is approached by a shopkeeper and will exchange his Book of Law for the Book of Absolute. Like the Book of Law this one will be utterly useless as well. You will receive notification that you have new mail. Log out --Desktop-- New Email: 1. Anonymous: Go to Theta Soaring Sky Bounded Abyss 2. Aura: Garbled Email Log into The World ------------------------- Highland City-Dun Loireag ------------------------- --Don't worry about equipment and items, head to the Chaos Gate and go to: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Theta Soaring Sky Bounded Abyss-Area mentioned in the Anonymous Email Lvl. 13 Element: Wood ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Watch the scene and afterwards you will be back in town. You should receive another message that you have mail. --About the scene that plays out with Lios and Helba, in case you didn't catch it, Helba will mention that Lios tried to delete Kite's character by giving him special items. These would be The Book of Absolute, and Book of Iron. But because Kite's character data is so well protected (thanks to Aura) he couldn't do it. This is why you can't use and never will be able to use these items.-- Log Out --Desktop-- New Email: 1. If you have affection levels of 250 for your friends you should receive emails from all of your allies (except for Mia and Elk), the way you answer their emails can raise their affection. 2. Lios: Allowing you to go to the Lambda server. He tells you to meet him in the town, he is in disguise as an NPC shopkeeper. Log In ------------------------- Highland City-Dun Loireag ------------------------- Go to the Chaos Gate and choose other servers. Pick the Lambda server. ------------------------------ Cultural City-Carmina Gadelica ------------------------------ Go ahead and trade, and check out the shops. You can also raise grunties here as well. The Grunties for Lambda Server are Bony, Snakey, and Noble Grunty. The Bony Grunty will have a Golden Grunty (+30 to HP) to trade, the Snakey Grunty will have a Silver Grunty (+15 to SP) to trade. When you are ready visit the weapon shop, you will find Lios. He will tell you to investigate the protected areas and you should check the boards. He will give you Virus Core P. Log Out --Desktop-- Now the fun begins! There are a few new keywords for you to try out. You should always read everything on the board. I will only mention ones where keywords are given, or are important to the story, but read everything so you can understand what is going on in The world. Check the boards: 1. Lambda Collapsed Pagan Remains-It seems they are holding a trading convention here. 2. Lambda Lightless Distant Dead Lands-This is where the Nuke Usagimaru Show is playing. 3. Lambda Detestable Vengeful Sunny Demon-Challanged to a game of tag by the Golden Goblin. 4. Lambda Dolorous Evil Eyed Widow-Protected area where girl like figure was seen. New Email: 1. Gardenia: Inviting you to Lambda Quiet Oblivious Cabbage 2. Helba: Telling you about the new Virus Cores (IMPORTANT PLEASE READ THIS ONE!!) Log In ------------------------------ Cultural City-Carmina Gadelica ------------------------------ You will meet Mia and Elk. Something is wrong with Mia's voice, but anyways they want to go to the protected area Lambda Dolorous Evil Eyed Widow with you. So when you decide to go there put them in your party. Now you can start calling up your other friends to go dungeon crawling with you. Also you can start raising their affection levels by giving them gifts. Do a lot of trading to upgrade their armor and weapons. I will not specify any particular weapon or armor, because it is really up to you and what you prefer. But for Kite I always bring along 3 or 4 different weapons for him all with different elemental attacks so I can take advantage of elemental weaknesses in battle. To move the storyline along you must go to Lambda Dolorous Evil-Eyed Widow. I like to do the optional dungeons first. I will put it in the Walkthrough the way I do them, but you certainly don't have to do them this way. Ok! Let's get Started! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lambda Lightless Distant Dead Lands-The Nuke Usagimaru Show Lvl. 30 Element: Fire ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --Kite must be alone. ----- Field ----- Grunty Food: Grunt Mints Enemies & Virus Core: Mystery Rock-B Tetra Armor-B Mu Guardian-B --Since Kite is alone don't bother clearing the field unless you really want to. -------- Dungeon -------- Grunty Food: Golden Egg X 3, Invisible Egg X 3. Elemental item: Burning Oil Enemies & Virus Core: Mystery Rock-B Tetra Armor-B Mu Guardian-B Phoenix Queen-B When in the dungeon you will see a scene with Nuke and some other players, when the scene is over you will have to go down to the lowest level of the dungeon. Since Kite is alone, I use a Fairy's orb on each floor so that I can find the quickest way possible to get to the next floor. If you need the experience and are feeling confident go ahead and fight and complete the dungeon. On Floor B2, along the way you will run into a player named Moonstone, even though nothing happens this is an important event. Note: Floor B3 does not have any enemies so go around collecting the treasure boxes, and breaking the boxes to get some good items. Nuke will be in the largest room to the north. You will come into a room where Nuke is fighting a Pumpkin King, Kite will run in to help him: ----------------------------------- --Pumpkin King-Darkness Tolerance-- ----------------------------------- Heal when needed, use thunder based attacks, I like using Thunder Coil. Keep Kite's HP high. You can Data Drain this monster for a Flaming Rod. You will then get Nuke Usagimaru's member address. Kite will automatically return to town. --Note: There is no Gott Statue in this dungeon.-- Next! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lambda Collapsed Pagan Remains-A trading convention is being held here. Lvl. 32 Element: Earth ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --Clear the Field for experience. --Pick up any Grunty Food that you can. ----- Field ----- Grunty Food: Root Vegetable Enemies & Virus Core: Hysteria-D Death Crane-D Smiley Ray-F Tips on Enemies: --Nothing to special here, but consider doing a little Data Draining. ------- Dungeon ------- Grunty Food: Golden Egg X 4, Immature Egg X 2. Elemental Item: Well Water Enemies & Virus Core: Specter-E Hysteria-D Grand Cold-D Bone Army-D Tips on Enemies: --Bone Army can hit pretty hard so try taking them out first and quickly! Floor B1 Once in the dungeon go North, you will see a scene with Rachel, who is doing some trading. She will ask you to get the Love Archery. Go North. I will give the directions for the quickest route to the dungeon, however I recommend going through the entire dungeon, fighting all monsters, opening all treasure boxes, and breaking all the boxes and barrels. The easiest way to do this is to use a fairy's orb on each floor. Next go East, North, West, North, Down. Floor B2 Go North, East, North, West, North, North, Down. **You will see another scene with Moonstone on this floor.** Floor B3 Go North, North, and then East to get to the Gott Statue. You will then get the Love Archery and you will automatically go to B1. Hand out the items, and then talk to Rachel. You now have Rachel's Member Address. You will automatically return to town. ------------------------------ Cultural City-Carmina Gadelica ------------------------------ Now head to the first Protected area. You must take Mia and Elk for this dungeon so add them to your party, give them any new armor and weapons that will benefit them, and then head to the Chaos Gate. --This is the only time that you can have Mia in your party, after this dungeon she will not be available until you beat the game, so raise her affection to 500 now unless you don't mind waiting. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lambda Dolorous Evil Eyed Widow-Protected Area posted on the MessageBoard Lvl. 30 Element: Water Virus Cores needed: P X 1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --Mia & Elk must be in your party. --Clear the field if you want, but all the enemies are old Infection enemies so you won't get much experience. ----- Field ----- Grunty Food: Cordyceps Enemies & Virus Core: Mu Guardian-B Red Scissors-B Tetra Armor-B Tips about enemies: --These are all enemies from Infection so you might not get a lot of experience. --Red Scissors can paralyze have Kite heal anybody that is hit with that. --Tetra Armors hit hard, have Kite use Darkness Skills and Elk use Darkness magic. --Mu Guardians will "Spam" you with Magic skills, use Wood Spells and Skills to get rid of them quickly. --Stock up on the Grunty Food, found on this field. ------- Dungeon ------- Grunty Food: Bear Cat Egg X 4, Golden Egg X 1. Elemental Item: Pure Water Enemies & Virus Core: Mu Guardian-B Tetra Armor-B Red Scissors-B Phoenix Queen-B Tips on Enemies: --Same Enemies as above. --Phoenix Queens will use Wood spells on you, so use Earth spells and Skills. Floor B1 Go North, West, North, West, South, Down. Floor B2 South, South, East, North, North, Down. Floor B3 Go North for a boss fight. ---------------------------------------- --Data Bug Mu Guardian-Magic Tolerance-- ---------------------------------------- Use your best skills to Protect Break him. Have Elk heal. After he is Data Drained you will recive Virus Core M, and he will be a regular Mu Guardian. Finish him off with wood skills, and you will see a scene. You will automatically return to town. --Since you were unable to get the Gott Statue the first time through, grab a couple friends and return to the dungeon. ------------------------------ Cultural City-Carmina Gadelica ------------------------------ When you return to the Root Town. Log Out. --Desktop-- Check the boards: 1. Lambda Nameless Seeker's Prairie-A Protected Area 2. Lambda Detestable Vengeful Messenger-Goblin Tag challange #7 Log In ------------------------------ Cultural City-Carmina Gadelica ------------------------------ --Next go to the dungeon that Gardenia invited you to in an email. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lambda Quiet Oblivious Cabbage-Gardenia's Dungeon Lvl. 35 Element: Fire ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --Gardenia must be in your party. --Always clear the field, and pick up Grunty Food, on your way. ----- Field ----- Grunty Food: Grunt Mints Enemies & Virus Core: Specter-E Armor Evil-E Skate Rat Ark-E Tips on Enemies: --The Skate Rat Ark's can resurrect so try finishing them off first, they have a Fire Tolerance, so use Water Spells. --Specter's have Darkness Tolerance so use Kite's Thunder Coil and any Thunder based spells. --Armor Evils hit hard and quickly. So either have Kite stand back and use spells to defeat them, or use a Hanged Man Scroll and Paralyze them. When you are done go to the dungeon. ------- Dungeon ------- Grunty Food: Invisible Egg X 5, Golden Egg X 1 Elemental item: Burning Oil Enemies & Virus Core: Skate Rat Ark-E Armor Evil-E Green Wyrm-F IronBall Mania-F Specter-E B1 You will see a scene. Then head North, North, East, North, Down. B2 Another scene. Then head North, North-you will see another Moonstone scene, Down. B3 North, North, East to get to the Gott Statue leave then head North. You will have to fight a Skate Rat Ark. -------------------------------- --Skate Rat Ark-Fire Tolerance-- -------------------------------- Since it has fire tolerance use water spells, and your best attacks. They can paralyze so use Antidotes ASAP. You will get the Crystal Stone. Gardenia will leave, and Kite will return to town. ------------------------------ Cultural City-Carmina Gadelica ------------------------------ When you return to Root Town. Log out. --Desktop-- New Email: 1. If you have done the Nuke, Rachel, and Gardenia dungeons you should receive a new email from Moonstone. He invites you to a new area Lambda Bottomless Guffawing Raw Ore. You also get his member address. Log In ------------------------------ Cultural City-Carmina Gadelica ------------------------------ Now you have two choices: 1. Moonstone's Dungeon 2. Protected Area to move the storyline along. First let's head to the Protected Area. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lambda Nameless Seeker's Prairie-Protected Area Lvl. 32 Element: Wood Virus Cores Needed: B X 2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --Clear the Field. ----- Field ----- Grunty Food: Mandragora Enemies & Virus Core: Death Crane-D Phalanx-D Smiley Ray-F ------- Dungeon ------- Grunty Food: Immature Egg X 2, Golden Egg X 1. Elemental Item: Holy Sap Enemies & Virus Core: Great Sled Dog-E Hysteria-D Death Crane-D Phalanx-D Tips for enemies: --The Hysteria mages have Thunder tolerance so cast darkness spells. --Death Cranes have Wood tolerance so cast Earth spells. B1 North, North, North, Down. B2 North, West, West, North, Down. B3 North, East, North to the boss fight. ------------------------------------- --Data Bug Scorpoid-Water tolerance-- ------------------------------------- Use Fire skills if you got them, otherwise use your best attacks. Data Drain for Virus Core N. For the regular scorpoid keep hitting him with Fire attacks. If you want you can Data Drain him again, I got a Spiked Guard. You will automatically go back to town. --If you want the Gott statue, you will have to make a second trip to this dungeon.-- ------------------------------ Cultural City-Carmina Gadelica ------------------------------ --Now put Moonstone in your party and go to the dungeon he invited you to. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lambda Bottomless Guffawing Raw Ore-Moonstone's dungeon Lvl. 35 Element: Fire ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --Moonstone must be in your party. --Clear the Field so that Moonstone can level up. --Moonstone will tell you to defeat all the monsters in the dungeon. ----- Field ----- Grunty Food: Snakey Cactus Enemies & Virus Core: Armor Evil-E Skate Rat Ark-E Ironball Mania-F Tips on Enemies: --Armor Evil's can hit hard, especially if you are coming in with a low level Moonstone. Stand back and issue spells constantly. Or you can use a Hanged Man Scroll to Paralyze them. --Skate Rat Ark's can revive fallen monsters, if you run into two or more of them, have Kite use Data Drain on them until there is only one remaining. After that kill them normally. --Also Data Drain a few times to get some Virus Cores. ------- Dungeon ------- Grunty Food: Bloody Egg X 4, Golden Egg X 2 Elemental Item: Burning Oil Enemies & Virus Core: Hysteria-D Armor Evil-E Skate Rat Ark-E Ironball Mania-F --Remember to Data Drain a few times to get Virus Cores, they are needed for Gate Hacking. --You must defeat all enemies in the dungeon, so I won't give directions. Use a Fairy Orb to find all enemies easily. --When on Floor B3, I recommend getting the Gott Statue before defeating the monsters on that floor. Go West, North, East, East to the Gott Statue. --When you have defeated all the monsters there will be a scene, and Moonstone will leave. Kite will automatically return to town. ------------------------------ Cultural City-Carmina Gadelica ------------------------------ When you return to Root Town. Log Out --Desktop-- New Email: 1. Lios: He wants you to report on your investigation back in Lambda root town. When you come to a doorway with a Purple Haze in front of it, this should be a warning you are going to fight a boss. Use any strengthening items you have and make sure that you are fully healed. Now get ready for: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Phase 2--Innis--The Mirage of Deceit--Magic Tolerance ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ First have Kite give the Attack! Command. If you brought a Wavemaster command them to be on First Aid!. If not then have Kite act as the healer. Kite and BlackRose should then use their best skills, but do not use magic, he has a tolerance. Also he has an attack that can cause status effects so cure those right away. Innis has a spin and slam into the ground move, so if you see Innis spinning try to move Kite out of the way. Always keep enough SP so that Kite can Data Drain. If Innis spins away from Kite after he Protect Breaks it may give him enough time to Restore Protect himself. So Data Drain immediately! Data Drain Innis for Segment 1. After Innis is Data Drained, he should have a much more manageable amount of HP (3000). Same strategy applies. She wants to go with you to Lamda Merciless Grieving Furnace. As before trade for better equipment for Kite and Mistral, stock up on Healing Potions, Antidotes, Restoratives, Mage's souls, and Ressurects. Buy some bloods if you can. Use a Fairy's Orb to make it easier on each floor. I highly recommend clearing out the dungeon but I will give directions for the shortest route: B1 North, East, South, East, North, Down. B2 Just keep going North. B3 To the North, until you get to a doorway with the Purple Haze, you know what that means! Use any strengthening items you have and head through the door to face: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cubia Core-Physical & Magic Tolerance 5000 HP ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Cubia Core will start out with physical tolerance, so have Kite and the others use Magic! If Cubia has a Physical Tolerance have Kite act as the healer so that you can take advantage of Mistral's magic. When it has a Magic Tolerance command Mistral to be on First Aid! and have Kite go up and start using his skills to whittle away on Cubia's HP. Just keep switching when his tolerance changes. Also your third person should be a good attacker, have Kite use Designate Target to tell them to go after Cubia. When Cubia has physical tolerance you might have to issue the Magic! command more than once, since attackers are not consistant with using magic. Now Cubia has friends that will pop up from time to time, the only one you need to worry about is Repth Gomora it likes to heal Cubia so if you see it be sure to take it out if it is causing you problems, try using spells, it is easier to keep track of it that way. So basically, keep an eye on Cubia's Tolerance level and adjust your strategy accordingly. If Repth Gomera is healing Cubia too much, have Kite use spells to kill it off. Keep plugging away and eventually you will be victorious. Now stock up on healing items. Give some to your other teammates as well. Get the best armor that you can, and some good weapons. For weapons I had the Magatsu, Kyoura and the Akatsuki. Bloody Blades are also good for their elemental attacks. (This is the only one of the rare Weapons I will ever recommend, so try to get the FishSkin TwinBlade Weapon.) You don't necessarily have to do it now, but try to do it before starting Outbreak. --Easter Rock for 8 Key Guardian, and the Blade 3000. Tips on Enemies: --Squidbod's have Physical Tolerance, so issue the Magic! Command. Have Kite stand back and use spells. --Easter Rock, use Wood Based Spells and skills. --For the Dalaigon Anecdot, just make sure that BlackRose does not have the Spark Sword equipped she will get slaughtered! In fact don't use that weapon at all. B1 --You have to enter the doorways in the directions that BlackRose keeps reciting. --If you mess up she will keep repeating it for you. When you successfully get to the end, go down. B2 North, West, North, East, East, North, East, Down. B3 East, North, East, South, South, West, West, West, Down. B4 West, West, West, South, East, South, Down. B5 There is only one way to go. There will be a door with the Purple Haze. DON'T use any strengthening items to boost stats. Go through the door to find: ------------ The Net Slum ------------ You will see a scene, to continue on with the story you must talk to everybody in Net Slum. There are six people to talk to, but before talking to the last person, this is a good time to use your Stat Boosting items. There will be another scene and you will get Harald's Note 2. Yet another scene and then you will have to face: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Phase 3--Magus--The Propagation ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Put your Wavemaster on First Aid! and tell BlackRose to attack Magus (Use Designate target). Now for Kite, he has the most important job of all. You may have noticed that Magus drop leaves and they all have timers over them. Kite must attack and destroy all the leaves before the timer hits 0, if not Magus will do a devastating attack that could kill your characters instantly. So have Kite run behind Magus and just attack the leaves, that is all. The only time he should stop is if your healer has a status effect cast on them, just cure them, and continue attacking the leaves. There will be a brief moment when he won't drop leaves so attack him, it is brief but you need all the help you can to bring his HP down. Just keep at it, and you should be able to Protect Break him. Data Drain him for Virus Core U. Now Magus has 4500 HP, much better. But he can still hit hard. Data Drain him for the Crimson Raid a rare twin blade weapon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After the fight you will get Lucky Shoes, a very nice piece of equipment for Kite. Now all that left is to do your final Goblin Tag Challange. That's it for the extras at the end of the game! Go ahead and do any leveling up and collecting of rare weapons, and get ready for the next installment of .hack! -Wiseman is available to put into your party after beating the game so remember to raise his affection to 500. -You might want to do a little Virus Core hunting, this will prove useful. You can only get access to these Tag Challanges if you have beaten all 5 Goblins in Infection. So make sure you finish those up first (you can do this in Mutation.) Also you need to beat these five Goblins in Mutation to get the challanges in Outbreak. So you might as well get it all finished up now! Now here ya go, Good Luck to you! You will go up against Stehoney R. Use a speed charm and chase that bad boy down!! A good attack I have found to use on him is Thunder Coil, do your best and you will eventually win. You will receive Goblin Cap A for defeating him. Also once you have beaten Stehoney R, if you log out and check the boards you will see another tag challange at Lambda Detestable Vengeful Messenger. Goblin Tag Challange #7: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lambda Detestable Vengeful Messenger-Play tag with the gob 7th challange Lvl. 30 Element: Darkness Grunty Food: La Pumpkin ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ As always Kite must be alone. This guy is fast and can be tricky. If you want, cast a speed charm on yourself. Jonue R is pretty fast so I recommend casting magic spells or using scrolls on him. I used MeJuk Kruz on him, it took two castings to take him down. You will get Goblin Mail A for defeating him. You will get your next Tag Challange at Lambda Detestable Vengeful Scent. Goblin Tag Challange #8: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lambda Detestable Vengeful Scent-8th tag Challenge Lvl. 35 Element: Water Grunty Food: White Cherry ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is the 8th tag challange. Kite must be alone as always. Use a speed charm, and then do your best to keep up with him. Magic seems to always miss. An attack I found that works really well is Orchid Dance, there is a good chance of getting an elemental critical. Also trying Wood scrolls or spells might be good too, but whenever I used magic it always missed. For defeating Zyan R you receive Goblin Gloves A. After defeating Zyan R you will get your next challange at Lambda Detestable Vengeful New Truth. You must defeat Albert R, he has an Earth Tolerance. Easiest way to do it is to cast a Moon scroll and put him to sleep, and then use Wood Based spells and attacks. You will get Goblin Boots A. You will get your final tag challange after beating the game. Goblin Tag Challange #10: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lambda Detestable Vengeful Gate-Tag Challange from Martina R Lvl. 42 Element: Water Grunty Food: Mushroom ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Martina R is very fast, and she casts a health charm on herself, so she also heals quickly as well. First cast a Beast Bane (You can buy these at the Theta server magic shop) on her (this cancels out her magic tolerance), then cast The Moon on her (this will put her to sleep), then hit her with any magic you have. You should eventually win and she will give you Imp's Praises. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [H007] Section 7 - Grunty Raising==------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Grunties are your mode of transportation as you are going through "The World." They are useful to get around on the field without having to fight enemies. You can also trade with your Grunties for useful and rare items. And the best part, you can use them for Grunty Racing!!! When you raise your first grunty he will give you the Grunty Flute (which will be added to your Key Item menu). Use this item when you are in the field to call the Grunty to wherever Kite is, and Kite can use him to get to the dungeon without having to fight any enemies. Each Server has 3 types of Grunties, each server is different (with the exception of the Noble Grunty.) Raise all the different types for that particular server and you can use your grunties for Flag Racing, where you can win nice power-up items. The best choice on Grunty racing is to choose the Iron grunty on the Theta Server and the Bony Grunty on the Lambda server. 2. The best order to grab flags is: Theta race: Green, Red, Purple Lambda race: Purple, Red, Green 3. A good way to race is to run close to the first flag, and start going the other way. This way your grunty will "slide" to the flag. 4. To get the 2nd place Grunties use Poison, or Snakey Grunties. They will not have as much speed as the Iron or Bony but they have really good traction and it is good practice before using the faster ones (it's possible to get 1st place with them, but you have to be really good at racing.) 5. The Iron and Bony grunties are for getting first. When trying to get first place and you have had enough practice, don't go all out and try to win with the best time when only trying to get the first golden grunty. If you do, it will be hard to beat your score, so in Theta, don't quit when you bump into a person this could be important to getting your next Golden Grunty. 6. This takes time to learn but when you have to stop and do a quick 180, immediatly press back on the analog so you're going the way you came, press R2, and press up, this has to be done quickly and is vital to saving time. 7. When breaking with a fast grunty that doesn't have any good traction (Iron or Bony), you should press back on the analog and make sure you slide backwards into the flag and barely touch it with your tail this is also vital to getting 1st place. 8. When turning with a fast grunty (Iron or Bony) you realize you will have a tremendous slide, but this is normal, to make it easier, turn at a sharp angle so you can stop sliding sooner and head forward, this is especially important in the Lambda server. 9. In Theta you should ride on the edges of the wooden planks, this cuts a couple of seconds off your time. 10. Don't use R2 to straighten the camera view when you're view is crooked because it makes it so you can't turn with the analog and you just keep going straight, to stop this you have to stop your grunty, which is a waste of time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [H009] Section 9 - Miscellaneous==------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. Bonus Area Keywords --Lambda Capricious Unending Corridor The Gott Statue contains Chinese Food (Trade with Annri for the Super Wufei).
