What systems is it for?

Everybody is talking about it. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is one
of the world's greatest fighting games. Every hardcore
fighting fan would go to the arcade each and every day
playing it and enjoying it, or can play it right at home.
Whether it is flashing the best Air Combo, or performing
the style of your own, this is a "must-have" game of the
new millennium.

Special Note: I read a source at IGN.com, and all I found
were FAQs on the Gamecube version. If anybody, and I mean
ANYBODY, has any information regarding the Gamecube

OK. Here are the controls for the game.

LP = Light Punch (Press twice for Medium)
HP = Hard Punch
LK = Light Kick (Press twice for Medium)
HK = Hard Kick
P1 = Partner 1
P2 = Partner 2

Note these things, too. They involve the
joystick.

u = Up
f = Forward
b = Back
d = Down

qcf = Quarter-Circle Forward
hcf = Half-Circle Forward
dp = Dragon Punch Forward
qcb = Quarter-Circle Backward
hcb = Half-Circle Backward
rdp = Dragon Punch Reverse

Note these too. They involve buttons.

P = Any punch
PP = Both punches
K = Any kick
KK = Both kicks

Here are the functions for the buttons.

Any button but Partner buttons = Attack
P1 = Partner 1's Variable Assist
P2 = Partner 2's Variable Assist

Here are the combinations & their functions.

LP+LK = Switch with Partner 1
HP+HK = Switch with Partner 2
P1+P2 = Variable Combination

Note these too. They involve where the attack can
take place, and what level to do it at.

A = Air only
a = Also in the air
3 = Level 3 or above

Please note these. They are used in just about
every situation.

df + HP (or HK) = Universal Launcher
PP = Advancing Guard (a)
f, f or b, b = Dash
Any + HP (or HK) = Throw Opponent (Depends on
                                   character)
Any + HP (or HK) = Tech Hit (when grabbed)

Here are some of the things you'll find while
playing Marvel Vs. Capcom 2.

1. New Characters - How obivous! New characters
                    are here to play.
2. 3-on-3 Battles - All fights are 3-on-3 now.
3. Assist Type Select - Select your assist type
                        for your character. It
                        can be Alpha (a),
                        Beta (b), & Gamma (y).
4. Team Hyper Combo - Swipe your foes with a team
                      super attack.
5. Hyper Combo - Super attack your opponent.
6. Air Combo - Strike your opponent in the air.
7. Snapback - Swipe an opponent away from the
              field. [qcf + P1 (or P2)]
8. Crossover Assist - Partner attacks the
                      opponent, or does something
                      else.
9. Crossover Counter - Partner comes in and
                       strikes the opposition.
                       [b, db, d + P1 (or P2)]
10. Crossover Combination - All fighters in a
                            team perform their
                            Hyper Combos.

Abyss. He is somewhat the easiest boss to defeat. He
comes in 3 forms. First, is the iron self. Then, is the
green goopy self. Finally, the big red beast self. I'll
tell you about his attacks and what to do when you see
him in the form indicated.

i. Abyss (Iron Robot Form)
----------------------------------------------------------

He is in the iron robot form. He is all black, but some
of him is green. This includes his horn helmet, his
hands, his eyes, and his stomach ring. This guy has Hyper
Armor, but he'll be easy to take down.

Special Moves:
 - Horn Stab (Pulls off a trident on his helmet & tosses
              it to you)
 - Standing Arm Swipe (Whiffs an arm with blue energy
                       at you)
 - Rushing Body Press (Uses his body to ram at you)
 - Blue Homing Sparks (Lifts his hand & 3 blue balls will
                       come at you)

Hyper Combos:
 - Stomach Blast (Fires a huge big beam from his stomach)
 - Green Rain (Green sleet rains down on you)

Strategy: OK. You can attack this guy at close range, but
          Super Jump away or block his attacks. Also, you
          can fire the projectiles, but if he uses the
          Rushing Body Press, don't use someone like Cable
          to finish your 10+ hit Viper Beam combo. Iceman
          is best to use here because most of Abyss'
          attacks will take no damage (especially if
          blocked).

In The End: The green horns will melt, and Abyss will fall
            in his stomach. Then, an earthquake will come
            & the robot form will sink.

If You Lose: I don't know what happens. E-mail me, and
             I'll give you credit.

ii. Abyss (Green Goo Form)
----------------------------------------------------------

Abyss rises as a green, gooy, human-like shape. I'll give
this form credit because he has Super Armor for a person
that is 5 feet tall. But, his attacks are no child's play.

Special Moves:
 - Blue Flamethrower (Raises a gun & fires some flames)
 - Small Laser Beam (Raises a gun & fires a small beam)
 - Large Laser Beam (Same as above, but the beam is 
                     larger)
 - Green Bubbles (Sink & 3 bubbles will come out, trying
                  to trap you)

Hyper Combo:
 - Spinning Photon Array (Spins his body & photon shots
                          come out)

Strategy: You can still attack him at close range, but
          stay away from his Flamethrower. The best
          thought here is to fire your projectiles.
          Iceman is best here, too. This is due to the
          fact he'll take no block damage from Abyss'
          laser attacks. Also, you can pop the bubbles.

In The End: The goopy Abyss will sink to the floor.
            Another earthquake comes.

If You Lose: Abyss disappears, and reappears over the
             green waves.

iii. Abyss (Big Red Beast Form)
----------------------------------------------------------

Abyss rises once more as a huge beast, dripping with green
goop. There is also an orb above him. He also fills up the
entire screen. But, he's easy. So, go for it!

Special Moves:
 - Venom Fang Strike (Like Venom's Venom Fang, but he has
                      his mouth open)
 - Flaming Breath Attack (Breathes huge fire from his 
                          mouth for a long time)
 - Ground Flames (Sink & flames will strike vertically at
                  ground level)
 - Fire Column (Strike the floor & a column shoots up)
 - Horizontal Flames (Fires streams of fire across the
                      screen)

Hyper Combo:
 - Dragon Flames (Same as Horizontal Flames, but Dragon
                  heads appear on the flames)

Strategy: OK. This guy is somewhat tough. He can attack
          you when you least expect it. Also, that orb
          above him can be damaged, too. Attack it when
          he's not looking. Meaning, when he's not trying
          to attack.

In The End: Your team will stand under the orb. The orb
            will be transparent, and explode. The ending
            is now there, and it goes the same for all
            characters.

If You Lose: Abyss will pound your dead character up in
             the air, and eat him or her. He'll then lick
             his chops.
