As the world awaits ArenaNet to release its ultra hyped MMO, Guild Wars 2, those too impatient for the final product have prepurchased the game and are participating in weekend Beta Events that happen about once a month. These Beta Events allow the impatient player to get a taste of the game while at the same time helping ArenaNet put on some of the finishing touches.
Guild Wars 2 has been touted has revolutionary in the realm of MMO gaming and has drawn the attention of fans, gamers and critics around the world. As with the original Guild Wars, there will be no subscription fee to play the game after it has been purchased.
There has been no official release date for the game although it is hoped to be available sometime late this fall (2012) and will be only on PC.
