Following last weekend’s ARG showing the attack of Gray Mann against both the Red and Blu teams, Valve has finally officially revealed their brand new co-op mode.
Starting August 15th, players from both teams will unite in a horde co-op mode against an army of robots and their explosives. Valve created a whole new section of the Team Fortress website for the occasion, which provides detailed information on what players can expect to face:
“Mann vs. Machine is a new co-operative game for Team Fortress 2 that lets you and five friends wage a desperate battle to stop a lethal horde of robots from deploying a bomb in one of Mann Co.’s many strongholds. Take advantage of breaks between waves to upgrade your abilities and weapons. Survive all the waves in any of a variety of missions to earn incredible loot.”
Starting today, players can only access details about the enemy robots. The basic foes are robotic variations of Team Fortress classes, including the Demoknight, Über Medic, and Sydney Sniper. There are also the Bomb Carriers and Gaints, which “can be identified by the fact that they are giant, covered in thick, damage absorbing armor, and probably charging straight at you.” The website introduces three types of giants, including the Rapid Fire Soldier, described as “The machine gun of rocket launchers.”
The next two days promise to reveal information about the “Mercs” and “Bounty,” so stay tuned. Also, new webcomic!
