Beloved Classic Psychonauts Coming to PSN

Raz of Psychonauts

Get ready, adventure game lovers. This PlayStation Blog post is about to blow your mind.

PlayStation Community Manager Chris Remo bears good news to anyone looking to scratch that nostalgia itch. Psychonauts will be available for purchase on the PlayStation Network next week. You can find it in the PS2 Classics section.

Psychonauts, released in 2005 by Double Fine, is often held up as an example of the story-telling potential of the gaming industry. It features a determined young psychic who finds his way to a secret government run summer camp for psychic children and discovers mystery and conspiracy, all which must be uncovered before his parents come to pick him up.

According to Remo, the requests for a Psychonauts PSN download have been pouring in for some time. The Community Manager had this to say in response:

“And as it turns out, we do love free money! (Preferably in cash-stuffed envelopes slid under the office door.) But to truly become a PlayStation 2 Classic, we wanted to ensure Psychonauts had all the time it needed to grow into its status as a classic, like a fine artisanal Tuscan cheese. But less smelly.”

So if you missed out on that one Humble Bundle, you now have another chance to pick up Psychonauts on August 28.
