Hints

Limit Breaks

Alright so I bet you're wondering how to get you're limit breaks faster here's how to get the 1st 3 levels:
Its basically the same for everyone. Use the 1st limit 6 to 9 times then defeat 80 enemies with that character after getting the 2nd limit. So once you have both limits defeat 80 enemies to move on to the next level. Vincent and Cait Sith are different though. Cait Sith only has 2 limits Dice and Slots. Use Dice 8 times then boom you're done you got Slots pretty easy. As for Vincent though he has 4 levels like everyone else, with the exception of Cait Sith, but only 1 in each level. To move to the 2nd level defeat 60 enemies, level 3 defeat 60 more enemies. So a total of 120 enemies defeated.
So for Cloud, Barret, Tifa, Aerith (Aeris), Red XIII, Yuffie and Cid, defeat a total of 160 enemies and Vincent, 120. Cait Sith doesn't have to kill any enemies to get his limits.
Its all pretty simple. It might take a while but it is possible.

Character + Hyper = Fury = Faster Limit

As you should know by at least by the time you get to Junon, there is an item called a Hyper. Hyper's not only cure saddness but can cause fury. The main effect is that it doubles the amount of limit bar gained after each time you get attacked. So lets say you get hit with an attack that would normaly fill the limit bar up half way, with fury, it would fill it up all the way with one attack. It doesn't act like Berserk, you'll still have complete control over him of her. So yeah that REALLY help's if you're fighting a hard boss and you need to use limits. Overall Hyper's are a great item to have in your inventory.

Fastest, Easiest EXP & AP

U can go fight Movers or Magic Pots down in the final dungeon, Northern Crater, near the end of FF VII, but better still you can gain faster & easier EXP & AP elsewhere. And MUCH, MUCH SOONER! Like as soon as Tifa's in control while Cloud is sick after plunging into the Lifestream. You want to fly down to the woods outside of Mideel. Run in circles in the woods (hold L1 & left on the D-pad) and only encounter either; 3 Crysales, or 3 or 4 Head Hunters. Equip Headbands to prevent Chrysales's sleep. Each fight will earn u: 240-320 AP & 1950-2500 EXP plus a bunch of Gil U can earn 8-10, 000 AP per 10 minutes here, which is the fastest u'll gain AP anywhere at any time in the game. To max ur AP/EXP gain: When you 1st are able to fight in Battle Square on Disc 1, fight 'til you can buy at least 2 Pre-Emptive materia. U can buy more to start out with, but remember once they are leveled up, more than 2 on one character are wasted. No more add'l effect than 2. With 2 Master Pre-Emptives, you will get a back attack 24 out of 25 fights. Which means ur party attks before the enemies even get a turn. Ur best/quickest attack ever will be the Slash-All materia found in Ancient Forest. U can actually get up there with Tifa if you raise a Mountain (green) chocobo. And find Apocalypse as a nice get-well gift for Cloud for when he rejoins. At any rate, don't put Slash All in a 2 or 3x growth slot. It loses effectiveness when it upgrades to Flash. Put it in a zero-growth slot if you use any of those later. Flash hits with death, which can miss. U can find other places to level up, but none are as fast as back attacking in the Mideel woods using Slash All. Just use ur best/strongest physical attks before you get Slash All, but it is the quickest. Its one quick attack that kills everything. Ultima's good and Fire linked to All is good at lev 3, Firaga, etc, etc, but you gotta watch MP with those.

Give Him A Turn

Did you know that Cid can ride a chocobo? Well it's true all you have to do is get him in your party and then go to Gold Saucer. Go to the chocobo station and talk to Ester and register one of your chocobos it doesn't matter which one. Then choose a course length doesn't matter what you choose after you choose a length he'll ask you if he can ride. If he doesn't then keep trying.

Two Parties At Once

Did you know that it's possible to fight Bizzaro Sephiroth with two parties? What I did was have Cloud Vincent and Yuffie in my party to go down the left pathway in the Northern Crater. I got to where everybody meets up and went back out of the crater. I saved it then later I went back down to the right pathway and met up with everybody. I fought Jenova and then I got to make two parties of three. The only downfall is that it takes much longer to defeat him. With the party on the right you have to kill his right arm, core, head, and center. With the left party you have to kill his left arm, core, head, and center. Each time a part dies it'll ask you if you want to check up on them. If you really need to get to the other party you should kill the head since it regenerates and it's easy to kill. Once all parts visible by both parties are dead you will proceed with only your first party. If you did what I did then you just might be able to use two parties like myself.

Safe Safer Seperoth

All you need are three ribbons or white capes attatched to everyone, Three Megalixers and three Elixers,KOTR and Long range Materia and 2x cutmateria and your set to go,baby!!

Easy Junon Tower Mini-Game

Don't waste your time and money on Junon Tower like a lot of other people! Don't even hire anybody to fight the enemies. Just wait until they get up to the top and kill the general. I did this the first time.

Hidden Turks

Go to the Sunken AirPlane thats next to the western continent in your sub. Then go to the room with the hall. There is a door on the left, go through it. U will see Reno and Rude. Use Knights of the Round summon, they will give up and run away. This is just something to do besides go to the gold saucer if your bored!

Back Attacks

Don't you just hate those back attacks, where the enemy does double damage? Well do I have news for you!! Here's how to get out: When it shows "Back Attack" (on the top of the screen) press R1 and L1 like your going to run but don't run, let go after about a second and you'll be turned around!!

Easy Cash Early In Game

In the train graveyard, you'll fight Deenglows. they are blue with pink wings. use your new Steal materia to steal their Ethers EVERY time you fight them. Eventually, you should have about 15-20 Ethers. Sell all but 5 of them(just in case). Each one is worth 750 gil. 13 times 750 is 9750 gil! Pretty good since weapons and armor cost 400 gil.

All Lucky 7's

Any character whose hit points are reduced to 7777 after an attack gets the ALL Lucky 7's effect. The Character goes into a mad rage and begins attacking the enemy nonstop, landing a hit for 7777 points of damage each time. To get this you must first get your character's HP over 7777. This means the ALL Lucky 7's effect can only happen to high-level characters or those equipped with several HP Plus Materia. you'll also need a lot of luck since somone's attack must knock that character down to exactly 7777 HP. It can happen, but it's not likely to happen when you'd like it to. Also, after any battle where a character's Hit Points are 7777, that character's HP is reduced to 1. So you can't carry the All Lucky 7's effect over to another battle. the character's HP Level so that it's exactly 7777.

Extra HP

Is Emerald weapon killing you? Maybe Safersephiroth is also killing you? Well, PROBLEM SOLVED! Just goto Cosmo Canyon and buy a TON of the HP Plus Materia.

Complete Chocobo Guide

This will take a lot of time. Unless you're a hardcore Final Fantasy fan and want to put a lot of time into this, dont bother with it. First go to the Chocobo Farm near Kalm, go to the House and talk to the Chocobo Raiser, he will sell you Chocobo Stables for 10,000 gil a piece. Buy a minimum of 3 Stables. Now, go to any place on the world map with chocobo tracks, I would suggest Mideel or Icicle Inn. These areas have the best in the game. Equip your Chocobo Lure materia and walk on the tracks, you'll eventually get one. After you have gotten your first Chocobo, go catch another, and go back to the farm, and have them put into the stables. Next, purchase some greens, expect to drop a whopping amount of gil on the greens. Then feed your chocobos the greens and max out their stats. Once this is done, go to the Chocobo Arena at the Gold Saucer and race your chocobos until they have both acheived S Rank. Also a good thing is to replenish your stamina with the L2 + R2 Cheat. Once you have maxed out both of your Chocobo's Rank and Stats, its time to breed. Go to the Bone Village and have the Steal equipped. Look for the Red Dragon (Vlakrodos). Steal from him for the carob nut. Steal one, then head back to the Farm. Breed your chocobos with the Carob Nut and you should get a Blue or Green Chocobo. Repeat this step again with two different and try to get the opposite color chocobo from the result. Once this is done, go find one more carob nut and breed your Green and Blue Chocobo. With any luck, you will get a Black Chocobo. Now, when you have the black chocobo, get a Excellent Chocobo and max him out. Then go to a small island north of the Farm. And find a Goblin. Steal from him and you will get a Zeio Nut. Breed your Excellent and Black and you will get a spectacle of all proportions-The Gold Chocobo. BUT! He isnt the last target. There is one more stage beyond Gold-To anyone who played FF4 should know what i'm talking about. THE WHITE CHOCOBO. He can do things even the gold cant. White Chocobo can Heal, Fly, Submerge Under Water, Walk on Water, Climb Mountains. This is the perfect chocobo. Once you have a Gold Chocobo. Do the steps all over again and get another Gold Chocobo, all maxed out. Go back to where the goblin is and steal another Zeio Nut. Now, go to the Farm and breed your two gold chocobos. You will now have gotten the Greatest Reward in Final Fantasy 7.

Easy Final Boss

One of the best ways to beat Sephiroth stage to is 1. to have Cid/Cloud/Red 13 in your main party and at high levels over 90. then give Cid zero buhomet with quadra materia equiped and debarrier then have cloud with knights of the round. then have red13 with wall all this will help alot. attack Sephiroth a few times then when he casts wall debarier him then cast zero buhomet and Knights of the round once this is done a few spell should Kill him. Ive had ten wins 2 losses with this stratigy and it takes about 25 minutes.

Aeris Final Limit

To get aeris final limit is quite difficult but worth it. I would know because I have goten all materia, beaten all weopons, and gotten every special item, limit, and weapon for everyone with no codes. Back to the subject. To get it you have to first get the mythril piece from the sleeping old man before aeris dies!! tHIS MEANS you have to get acrss to the other continent and get the buggy from dio. Than go to the boat at costa del sol with your buggy back to the 1st continent. Then go to the sleeping old mans cavern and he will tell you how many battles you must fight and run away from to get mythril. After you get mythril, go back to the 2nd continent and go to the weapon seller. He will than prize you with Aeris final limit. **NOTE** the limit is in the upstairs chest, the downstairs one is just a normal item.

Kalm Inn Megalixer

To get a megalixer in the Kalm inn all you have to do issneak over to the cabinet in the top left of the screen and not to get to close to your party members or they will tell you to come over and tell them your story. THan go to it and keep kicking it until it falls.

Jenova Life Kill With Ease

To defeat jenova life wery easily, just equip th water ring for one of your party members and he/she will be invulnerable.

Fort Condor Battle Tatics

When doing the fight at fort condor, here are some battle tactics

1. place defenders at top
2. place shooters at front line
3. place repairers or medics in middle
4. place stoners or catapults pointing down each
entrance to top(at least 2 at each)
5. Have bomb layers or engineers 2nd to set down
bombs

Use Summon 16 Times

Once you get "W-Summon" and "Quadra Magic", equip quadra magic with any summon (except Knights of the Round). Use w-summon with the one you put quadra magic on. For both summons you pic, use the same summon both times. If it is done correctly, it should use the summon 16 times!

Regain Health

When you are in battle use your level three restore(regain). Open the lid when you cast it and you willregian all your health. It takes about three minutes if you are bably injured.

Getting Yuffie In Your Party

Yuffie can be found in a random encounter in one of the forest areas by Fort Condor and Junon. After fighting her, do not pause, enter your menu or use the save point. Talk to her and answer her questions with the following responses:

Yuffie: "You spikey-headed jerk! One more time,
let's go one more time!"
Answer: Not interested.

Yuffie: "You're pretty scared of me, huh?"
Answer: ......petrified

Yuffie: "I'm really gonna leave! REALLY!"
Answer: Wait a second!

Yuffie: "You want me to go with you?"
Answer: ......That's right.

Yuffie: "All right! I'll go with you!"
Answer: ......Let's hurry on.

Hades Summon Materia

When you are at the sunken plane, defeat the turks and then go in the cargo room of the plane. Go downstears and when you see the helicopters, go stand between them and press the action button.

How To Get Good Items

If you want good items go to the sunken Gelinka airplane (you can get there by using your submarine). In the Gelinka airplane you get the Hades summon materia, double cut materia, and Yuffies ultimate weapon, conformer. You also get a few other little things. The Gelinka airplane is found underwater near the big western continent.

Lucky 7s

To get the Lucky 7s effect, you have to start a battle with 7777 HP. This causes your character to go into Berserk mode. You'll deal 7777 damage each time you attack, which happens pretty often, since all your stats go up to 7777. The only downside to this cheat is that after the battle, your HP and MP go down to 1, and your character gets every negative status in the book. OH! By the way, with a lot of hard work, you can equip HP Plus materia to start EVERY battle with the Lucky 7s effect (useful for tough boss fights).

Key To Midgar

Go to the outskirts of Midgar, or just enter it by foot. Talk to the man standing ouside, and he'll say that he lost the key on an excavation tour. Then go to Bone Village and set up a search for "normal treasure". It might take two or three times to actually get it, but you can stil get it. then return to Midgar on foot, and you can walk right through the door, and you'll end up right by Aeris's house.

Key Of The Ancients

After you get the submarine dive down and follow your mini-map to where you are close to the northern island. There will be a gap between the walls, go through it, then look around the edge for a tunnel that leads to the Key to the Ancients. Visit Cosmo Canyon and talk to Bugenhagen and bring him to the Ancient City. Bring him to he center area where Aeris was killed to discover that she... well, Bugenhagen will explain it to you.

Raising Chocobos

a) Go to the chocobo farm once you've acquired the highwind. Enter the house (not the barn) and talk to the person their. Choose the first option, and then choose the top chose. Doing this will let you purchase one of the stalls in the barn. You’ll need to purchase all six, but they cost 10000 gill a piece. If you want you can the process with only four stalls, but you'll have to kick out chocobos you don't need. b) Leave and get on the airship. Fly to the northern continent and land near the lone house surrounded by grass (it's exactly to the northwest of the farm). Equip one character with steal (yellow) materia and keep walking around on the grass until you fight a large red reptile (Brachiosaur?). Try to steal from him until you get a carb nut (you’ll see a message with an exclamation mark if you stole something). Run away or beat him, then repeat the process three times so you have three carb nuts. You also get this item from the same enemy if you go to the tip of the peninsula near the evcavator’s village on the on the Northern Continent where the dark grass is. c) Now go to the chocobo tracks near the gold saucer (by the shore). Equip someone with a chocobo attract materia and walk along the tracks until you enter a battle with a chocobo. Don’t kill the chocobos, but do kill the other enemies. When the battle is over, press X to dismount and select the top option to make the chocobo return to the farm. d) Go to the tracks on the Southern Continent, near the forest where you found Cloud in disc 2. Unlike the walking kind, you can get running chocobos here. Just repeat step (c) to catch one. Wait a second- - save your game. If you didn’t get the right type of chocobo (more about this in part e) you can reset the game and try again: the chocobos gender is determined randomly each time, so you can end up with the correct gender if you keep resetting and naming the chocobo until you get the one you want. e) Return to the chocobo farm. Talk to the guy standing still in the barn and choose the 3rd option, then the first choice twice. Name your chocobo, then repeat with the other bird. This will also place your chocobos in the stables. You can tell by their stance (walking or running) if they are the right type. To tell your chocobos gender and race ranking (more on this later), go up to them in the barn and press O. You’ll want to make sure that the running chocobo is female and the walking chocobo is male. If you have a chocobo running with his head down, put it in a stall, then talk to the man again and choose the 6th option from the top. Pick the chocobo and choose the top option twice, then the bottom option once to let that bird go so you can get another one. If the sex of the chocobo is wrong, just use the trick in the above section to change it. f) Do you have the right type and gender? Talk to the man in the barn again and choose the fifth option from the top. Chose one of the chocobos by walking up to it and pressing O. Pick the top option, then repeat with the other chocobo. When you get another choice, pick the top option. A list will appear. Remember the items you stole from that reptile from the north? It will appear as the item 7th from the top (there should be a 3 next to it since you stole 3 items). Choose the top choice. g) Hopefully you got a green chocobo! If you got a blue or yellow one, reset and try to mate them again (repeat step f). You’ll want a blue chocobo, but if you get one right now, it’s harder to breed a green one. Keep note of your chocobos gender—it’s important. h) At this point, you can’t mate the yellow chocobos again or the green chocobo. If you don’t want to wait, repeat steps c through f and try to breed a blue chocobo who is opposite gender of your green chocobo. If you have time on you’re hand ,though, waste it and come back later. You can re-bread your two yellow chocobos and try to get a blue chocobo. Either way it will take _a lot_ of tries, but you save the trouble of capturing and re-naming chocobos if you waste some time and just re-bread your two yellow birds. Remember the item that you used (carob nut), will now have a ‘2’ next to it since you already used one don’t worry, it will still stay in the same place on the menu. i) Okay! Now, you should have a blue chocobo and a green chocobo of opposite genders. If you caught another pair of yellow chocobos, you won’t have any more stall space and you’ll have to let the yellow ones go. If you simply breaded them again, you’ll still have two stalls left open. Since the blue chocobo is a newborn, you’ll need to waste some time before you can breed it to the green one. Hop on the highwind and fly back to the house on the grassy patch in the northern continent. Talk to the purple geezer and choose the first option. He will offer to sell you items; buy 40 of the ones that cost 5000 gil (shirukisu vegetable). Return to the chocobo farm and give ten of them to your blue chocobo and ten to your green chocobo. You can do this picking the fourth option when you talk to the man, then picking sylkis (is the second to last one). Pick the chocobos you want to feed it to and press up or down on your controller to increase the number. Then press O to feed the chocobo. J) Go to the gold saucer (you can get there from the sky lift in north corel). Go to the Chocobo Square, enter the main building, and talk to the girl in the front of the ’STAFF ROOM’ door. Choose the first option and pick either your green or blue chocobo to race. Then pick the top choice two times and press start at the next screen to start the race. The point of racing is to improve your chocobos race ranking. Remember what happened when you checked your chocobos stats? Underneath the gender was the race ranking. You need to improve it from a C to an A class ranking, and you can do so by racing. It doesn’t matter if you lose, just keep racing until you gain new classes. It’s easy to win using the automatic sequence mode (press and hold R1, R2, L1, L2). Every time you win a race, pick the top option to get item, the bottom option twice to gain an item, or the bottom option, then the top option to get some GP. Remember, to raise a class level, you have to come in first place (and even then you may need a high score like 1-2 a few times before you gain a level). When you do raise a racing rank, the girl will tell you. You can see your chocobos class every time you race it (at the screen before the race starts). Obviously, it will take quite before you reach class ‘A’ (it toke me around 3 races to raise to the next class each time). k) Get back in the highwind and return to the chocobo farm. Refer to step f and breed the blue and green chocobos together. With a little luck, you’ll find a black chocobo in one of the empty stalls the following day. Note the chocobos gender. l) There’s an elongated island with a forest on it northeast of the chocobo farm. Go into the forest and wonder around until you run into a tiny monster with boxing gloves (goblin). You can steal a zeio nut from it, you only need one after you get it, fly to the chocobo tracks on the west edge of the northern continent and capture one, you can get the dashing kind here. Then go back to the farm, name your chocobo and put it in the stalls. If it isn’t the opposite gender as the black chocobo, reset and try the naming process again. Refer to step e if you forgot how to do this. m) You should have 20 sylkis greens left, so feed 10 of them to the dashing chocobo and 10 to the black chocobo (just as you did in step i). Get the yellow and black chocobos to A-rank class each. Just repeat what you did back in step j. When completed return to the chocobo farm. n) Now, breed your yellow and black chocobo together. This time use the zeio nut. Once again, refer to step f if you have any trouble navigating the menus. You may have to retry a few times but eventually you’ll get a gold chocobo. Now you can go anywhere on the world map!

Another Way To Cast Magic 3 Times At An Opponent

Also, instead of using reflect on all 3 opponents, you can just use Quadra Magic Materia equipped with another magic materia. To find Quadra Magic Materia, you will need a Chocobo that can cross mountains. (Green, Black, or Gold). The Materia is in a cave. With Quadra Magic, the only magic that will be casted 3 times is the magic you equipped it to. And also, you can only use it so many times. If you get it at a higher level, you can use it more times in a battle. And for the downside of casting reflect on your party, if you use Cure magic or any magic on your party member, it will just bounce back to your enemy. The only way to get rid of reflect is if your party member faints.

You go to the very end of it..(down)..And get the w/item materia. When you equip it and go into a battle...your item option will be w/item....select it and use an item....then you will be able to choose another item....choose any other item and press O then X then O then X over and over again until you have 99 of that item.

With W-Summon Material You Can Get 99 Of Whatever Items You Want.

If you have the W-Summon Materia equipped to one of your party members, in a battle, click "W- Summon Item" and go to an item that you have two (2) or more of. (It's good for megalixer's for when you need them, or anything your just two cheap too buy)

If you wait through all of the credits when you beat the game there is another video. (This isn't really a hint and most of you probably know this, but i put it here anyway.)

Level Up Materia Easier

To level up your materia easier you have to take part in a lot of battle's. The more AP that the enemy your fighting gives you at the end of the battle the better. I suggest battleing the Magic Pots. They are easy because they don't attack you and they give you a lot of AP, which levels up you and your materia really fast, and they give you gil, the monetary value that the game has, to buy more materia or items of which you need. The more enemy's that give you a lot of AP, that you fight, the faster your materia will level up.

How To Get Knights Of The Round Materia

First you need a gold chocobo. Then get on the gold chocobo and look on the map, there is a secret island in the top right side of the map. You must find the island and ride up it on the chocobo on the island there is a cave go in the cave to find the materia.

Easy Power Source For Super Strength

Go to the meltdown reactor at Gonganga town. Then, get into a battle with a Heavy Tank. Morph it to get a Power Source to build your strength up by a point. Repeat this as needed to build as much strength as needed.

Sleeping Old Man

Directly East of Junon is a small cave that is only accessible using the Highwind or riding on a blue/gold Chocobo. The old man in the cave can tell you how many times your party has fought or escaped. You can also get helpful items from him, but the last two digits in the times you have fought must be the same. For instance, speaking to him after you have fought 699 times may get you either the bolt ring or a piece of mythril which is used to get Aeris' Ultimate weapon.

Cloud Mercenary Flash Back (Great Backgroud Movie)

Directly East of Junon is a small cave that is only accessible using the Highwind or riding on a blue/gold Chocobo. The old man in the cave can tell you how many times your party has fought or escaped. You can also get helpful items from him, but the last two digits in the times you have fought must be the same. For instance, speaking to him after you have fought 699 times may get you either the bolt ring or a piece of mythril which is used to get Aeris' Ultimate weapon.

Key To Sector 5

Late in the game, go to the Number 7 gate at Midgar. A man outside the door will say that he lost his key to the city at an excavation site. The only excavation site is at Bone Village. Go there and talk to the man that asks about what you are searching. Reply "normal treasure" and place your excavators on the upper area. Eventually, a box will turn up after multiple digs. Search it in the morning to find the key.

Exchange Gil For GP

When at Gold Saucer go through the welcome sign then come back out again. Keep on doing this until a man appears in the far background, near the save location. Approach him, and he will ask if you want to change Gil into GP. Answer yes to trade up to 10,00 Gil into 100 GP.

Unlimited Items

This trick requires the W-Item materia. The materia is obtained after your party parachutes back into Midgar in Disc 3. After entering the subway tunnels in Sector 8, your party may walk away from the screen and encounter the Turks, or walk towards the screen to reach another subway section. Select the second choice and follow the subway tunnel until it ends at a dead end with the W-Item materia. Equip the materia on the character with the item to be duplicated. When a battle begins, select the W-Item entry on the battle menu, select an unimportant item and use it on any character. On the second item choice, select the item to be duplicated by pressing Circle, then press X to cancel your selection and increase the number of that item in inventory. Repeatedly press Circle followed by X to accumulate 99 of the duplicated item. Note: This will only duplicate item selectable in battle and can not be used to duplicate the various sources, materia, weapons, or armor.

Refill HP

Cast Regen-All on your party, then quickly open the PlayStation lid when all opponents have been defeated. The game will be unable to load the victory screen, and may glitch while the HP for each party member fills. After everyone is at full health, close the lid to resume the game.

Easy Battle Square Handicaps

During the "slot machine" handicap sequence, rapidly tap Square in the Battle Square section at Gold Saucer. The slots will slow down, allowing an easier selection of your handicap. Note: This trick will also work in a similar manner with Cait Sith's limit break.

Cast Magic Three Times At An Opponent

Have all characters with Reflect status. Then, cast any attack spell on all three of your characters. The spell will bounce three times into the enemy, each with the attack power of a full spell.

Hints

Extra money Sell a Master level All materia to get 1.4 million Gil. Since another All materia will appear when the original reaches master level, there will be no loss in usefulness. Prevent back attacks If a battle begins with a "Back Attack", press L1 + R1 to turn your character around before your opponents get a shot. Nibelheim safe combination The combination to the safe in the old mansion in Nibelheim that contains the key to enter the basement (and get Vincent) is Right 36, Left 10, Right 59, Right 97. Note: Push the button used to talk to people to select each number. After opening the safe and fighting the monster inside, a key to the other part of the mansion and Odin summon materia will be found. Finding Vincent Take the key from the safe that contained the Odin summoning materia in Nibelheim. After defeating the Boss, Lost Number, walk down into the basement. Open the door that was previously locked (right before enter the room with Sephiroth). Talk with Vincent, after finding him inside the purple coffin. When leaving the room, he will offer to join the party. Turtle's Paradise prizes The Turtle's Paradise restaurant in Wutai has hidden six flyers with their advertisement in various locations. Collect all six flyers and return them to the restaurant owner to receive a prize consisting of a Power Source, Guard Source, Magic Source, Mind Source, Speed Source, Luck Source, and a Megalixer. The flyers are located in the following places:
Sector 5 slums, on the wall upstairs in a house on the east side of town. Posted on the bulletin board of the lobby of Shinra HQ. On the wall next to the item shop in the Ghost Hotel at Gold Saucer. Attached to the wall at the Tiger Lily Arms Shop in Cosmo Canyon. On the wall next to the inn keeper's desk. In Yuffie's basement (next to Turtle's Paradise), check the banner on the wall outside the trap room.
Materia to beat Weapons Use the following steps to make the battle with the Emerald and Ruby Weapons easier. Note: This must be done after Meteor is summoned and the Highwind is in your possession.
      1. Before fighting either Weapons, find and equip the Morph Matera before returning to the Undersea Reactor in Junon. Go through the sight-seeing tunnel (where the ocean can be viewed) and enter battles until the Ghost Ship appears. Use Morph when the enemy is low on HP to change them into an item called "Guide Book". 2. Leave Junon and return to Kalm. Go to the last house on the right, next to the bar. Go upstairs, where an old man will be encountered. He will explain how he wants to understand the afterlife, and ask you to find three items: Guide Book, Earth Harp, and Desert Rose. He will notice that you already have Guide Book and give you the Underwater Materia. 3. Equip the Underwater Materia. It does not gain AP and will not duplicate. This Materia removes the time limit when Emerald Weapon is encountered. 4. Defeat Emerald Weapon (a few mastered Mime and Knights of the Round will be helpful) to receive Earth Harp. Take it back to Kalm and give it to the old man to receive Master Summon (Red), Master Magic (Green), and Master Command (Yellow) Materia. These Materia can not level up or duplicate, but have all the abilities of their single counterparts. Master Summon grants all Summons for as long as MP are available. A similar effect is also used by Master Magic. Master Command is a little difficult to work with, but is still worth it. 5. Equip the new Materia and ram into Ruby, who is minding its own business in Gold Saucer. With luck, the single character Ruby allows to stay and fight will be ready to deal with this massacre. 6. Defeat Ruby and take Desert Rose to the man in Kalm to receive a Gold Chocobo. You probably will already have one, as Knights Of The Round is required for the Weapons battles. A good combo to use against the Weapons is HP Absorb + Knights (mega damage and mega boost in HP).
Easier Ruby Weapon battle Kill two members of your party before fighting Ruby Weapon. Have the Summon Phoenix materia equipped on the remaining character, then run into Ruby Weapon. When fighting, Ruby will only attack the live character, and therefore not use the Quicksand attack. Wait until the Weapon sticks his claws in the ground. Then, use Summon Phoenix to attack it and revive the dead party members. All three party members are now available for the battle. Another strategy is to have all characters equipped with the Final Attack + Revive or Phoenix materia combination. Have one character equipped with a weapon or armor containing Knights Of The Round + MP Turbo. Also have a Mastered Magic Plus materia (not MP Plus) somewhere else in the weapon or armor of each character. Have all three people wear the Mystile armor (first from Midgar Raid, second from North Cave, third from Ultimate Weapon when it is over Midgar). This will prevent Ruby's Ultima attack from injuring your characters. Kill two characters, then enter the battle with Ruby Weapon. When the Weapon's claws are in the ground, revive the two dead characters, and have W-Summon cast Knights Of The Round and have the other two characters Mime. This will hit Ruby Weapon for 9999 damage each time. It should be defeated after eight to ten rounds of this type of attack. Another strategy is to kill two of your characters, then equip the following materia combination: HP Absorb + Knights Of The Round, W-Summon, Mime. Use a hero drink, then summon the Knights Of The Round. Each time he/she will gain over 9,000 HP points. Then, simply Mime this attack until the Weapon is defeated. Another strategy is to use Mime in addition to the Final Attack + Phoenix materia combination. Get Cloud's limit bar full, and start the battle. Ruby will take your other two characters away with Quicksand. Attack with Omnislash. At Cloud's next turn, select Mimic and Cloud will use the Omnislash again. Repeat this attack. The only drawback to this strategy, is the need for a little bit in the limit meter. Without it, Cloud will jump forward after a brief flash, and Ruby Weapon will attack. When Cloud does the limit, the game will act as though you had a full limit bar, and delete all that remains in it. To effectively make this trick work, make sure Ruby Weapon hits Cloud before doing the Omnislash again. Easier Emerald Weapon battle Equip a member of your party with a Gravity materia, at any level. It will hit the Emerald Weapon for 9,999 damage. Using this and the Quad-Magic combo can take almost 40,000 hit points from one attack round alone. Another strategy is to equip the following materia combination: HP Absorb + Knights Of The Round, W-Summon, Mime, Underwater (and nothing else). Use a hero drink, then summon the Knights Of The Round. Each time he/she will gain over 9,000 HP points. Then, simply Mime this attack until the Weapon is defeated. Keep your materia number as low as possible, the more materia equipped, the more the Weapon's Air Tam Stomp will effect the party. For example, if four materia are equipped the Air Tam Stomp will take off 4444 HP points, five materia will result in 5555 HP points and so on. Extra Gil When at the Gold Saucer Prison, go out in the desert and fight a enemy called Cactuar. Defeat him to get 10,000 Gil. This creature can also be found at Cactuar Island on the south-east area of the map, or south of Cosmo Canyon. Exchange Gil for GP When at Gold Saucer go through the welcome sign then come back out again. Keep on doing this until a man appears in the far background, near the save location. Approach him, and he will ask if you want to change Gil into GP. Answer yes to trade up to 10,00 Gil into 100 GP. Key to Sector 5 Late in the game, go to the Number 7 gate at Midgar. Cloud mercenary flashback After Cloud has had his coma, go to the basement at the Shinra Mansion. Enter the library and Cloud have a flashback and remember how he became a mercenary. Back room of Cosmo Canyon General Store The General store in Cosmo Canyon has a back room that is roped off when your characters first arrive. Check back after Meteor has been summoned. The rope will be gone, allowing your characters to walk back in the room and get an Elixir, Magic Source, and the "Full Cure" Materia. Sleeping old man Directly East of Junon is a small cave that is only accessible using the Highwind or riding on a blue/gold Chocobo. The old man in the cave can tell you how many times your party has fought or escaped. You can also get helpful items from him, but the last two digits in the times you have fought must be the same. For instance, speaking to him after you have fought 699 times may get you the Bolt Ring. Date with Tifa Never talk to Aeris unless it is vital for progression of the game. Then, Cloud will get a date with Tifa after Aeris dies. Date with Barret Never talk to Aeris or Tifa unless it is vital for progression for the game. Then, once Kalm has entered for the first time, Barret will ask Cloud for a date. Bahamnant ZERO Summon Materia details Walk around after boarding the Shinra No. 26 spaceship on disc two. Your party will be able to go down to the space pod or up the ladder to the right to the huge materia. Go to the huge materia and use the talk button at the tall glass to speak with Cid. He will explain the controls in this part of the game. Talk again at the case and enter the password Circle, Square, X, X to collect the Key Item "Huge Materia". After travelling to Cosmo Canyon later in the game, talk to Bugenhagen. He will take your party up to his observatory. Approach to the Blue huge materia and get closer. Your party will receive the Bahamnant ZERO summon materia. Easy Power Source for super strength Go to the meltdown reactor at Gonganga town. Then, get into a battle with a Heavy Tank. Morph it to get a Power Source to build your strength up by a point. Repeat this as needed to build as much strength as needed. Status display The highest number shown on the status menu is 255. However the game will allow items on that screen to be built higher, but will not display anything greater than that number. Extra Ribbons Go to Geas Cliff. In the first cave after wrapping around to the bridge overlooking the door that was used to enter, walk straight to enter a cave with a box. Open it to find a ribbon. For a third ribbon, go to North Cave and morph a Master Tonbury. It is helpful if it is stopped first. Extra Tetra elemental Go to Cactuar Island in the south-west portion of the map. Explore until a Cactuar appears. Then, morph it to get the Tetra elemental. Maneuvering the Highwind The Highwind can be turned sideways or flown backwards without turning around. Hold Square and press the D-pad in the desired direction while flying. Cosmo Canyon song You can play the Cosmo Canyon song on your own by going to Tifa's house in Nibelheim. Then, press Square, Square, Square, X, Square, Circle, Circle, R1 + X, Circle, R1 + Square, R1 + Square, R1 + Square, R1 + X, Circle, R1 + X, R1 + Square, R1 + X, Circle, R1 + X, R1 + Square, Circle, Square, X, Circle, Square, X, Square. Note: This serves no purpose in the game. Getting a Gold Chocobo Get a Green Chocobo by mating two Great Chocobos or two Good Chocobos. Obtain Carob nuts by buying some the Gold Saucer Wonder Square for 500 GP or by stealing them from the Vlakarados creatures found near the Bone Village. Get the Chocobos to the S class, then give them a Carob nut. Race the Green Chocobo until it is in S class. Then, use a Carob nut and mate the same or different Chocobos. Then, race the Blue Chocobo until it is in S class. Use a Carob nut and mate the Blue and Green Chocobos. You will get a Black Chocobo. Race it until it is a S class Chocobo. Then, go to the Chocobo Tracks around the Icicle Inn area and get a Wonderful Chocobo. Race it until it is a S class Chocobo. Find the Zeio Nut on an island north of the Chocobo Farm. You can steal it from a Goblin that your party fights. If you do not steal anything at first, try a few more times then kill them and try again. Mate the Black Chocobo with the Wonderful Chocobo using a Zeio Nut. You should now have a Gold Chocobo that can go anywhere on the map. Chocobo quality Different Chocobo ranks can be found in various areas of the game:
Chocobo Ranch area: Poor/Weak Junon area: Fair/Poor Gold Saucer area: Good/Average Rocket Town area: Mediocre Wutai area: Average/Fair Icicle Inn area: Wonderful/Weak Mideel area: Great/Fair
Ancient forest Ride up the hill with a black, gold, or green Chocobo to reach the Ancient Forest before disc 3. Getting Yuffie in the party Yuffie can found in a random encounter in one of the forest areas. After fighting her, do not pause or use the save point. Talk to her and answer her questions with the following responses:

Cloud: Omnislash Get 32,000 battle points in Battle Square at the Gold Saucer, then trade them in at the machine.
