I was cruising the web this afternoon looking for interesting Mario or Luigi tidbits – anything to give me some insight in the upcoming WiiU titles and possible release titles. Anyway, I came across an interesting image. The Super Mario Bros. Coin Sound sheet music!
I’d never thought about it, but it makes sense. Because it was integrated sound in a published video game, why wouldn’t there be sheet music? My guess is that Koji Kondo just worked it out electronically (without the need to transcribe it), and then, as mentioned on the image, Joseph Karam put it to paper.
It’s not exciting and not very long, but it’s extremely distinctive. Every video game player around the world would recognize it immediately. In case you forgot, you can hear the sound on youtube.
